  1. But the French (and Russians) HAD oil contracts with the Iraqis.
  2. You mean you get to impersonate a giant ape and beat up miscellaneous dinosaurs?
  3. I take it this is just for the PS? No PC version? (SP: your release date is a month after the one at Play.com. ?)
  4. I was going to say, this "pirate" was more talented than Leonardo Da Vinci!
  5. Um, I'd be very surprised (read: mightily pissed off) if they didn't release a PC version as well. It looks like, from the wording, they are specifying the "next generation console" part as an emphasis (probably an industry code for PS3), rather than as a notation of exemption.
  6. Is it a single player campaign, or a stupid MMORPG thingie like FFXI? availability: Due for release on 28/04/2006
  7. Oooo. I had gone off playing Chaos Theory (overdose after launching straight into it after the first one) ... now I feel like playing again. Thanks!
  8. Someone give that TheHoodedClaw person a full time creative position! VAVLe, are you listening?
  9. Just have the US and Germany being controlled by one person ...
  10. It is common internets courtesy to post links when mentioning them. Bad Volo! http://www.rpgcodex.com/
  11. I would like to add to the wise words of Llyranor, above, that I fully understand the need to escape the dreariness of reality for those in Corea and China (oh, do I want to live to starve another day / go to my skull-grindingly dull job, or pretend I am a dragon-killing super-hero?) and indeed the concomitant extensive social interaction that an online world provides above and completely beyond that which is available IRL to some people. I'm just not one who needs this. :D
  12. I thought this webcam didn't transmit when I hadn't switched it on ...
  13. Jealousy.
  14. The second one looks like your video card is overheating... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, that's not "normal" ...
  15. Dangerous thing for any geek to do ...
  16. Whoosh!
  17. Careful, Gabs might actually write a comment, rather than a "witticism"!
  18. Please! These fora are G-rated!
  19. I don't recall the ice ages being that regularly spaced: I think they are more related to the magnetic poles swapping ... I read a good book setting out the theories, called Timescale:An Atlas of the Fourth Dimension ...
  20. Corncob and Sherlock. Sherlock has the advantage that I can think of the correct word for what I am saying as I tend to the pipe ... normally I stand looking stupid during such mental gymnastics, and give the audience time to but in and change the subject!
  21. Let's be sure about this: it's a close contest.
  22. well, I think he would prefer to make blockbusters that are not SW but, other than Indiana Jones, nothing else even comes close. I think he likes directing just as much as writing and I suspect anything SW will have heavy involvement from him for the next decade or two. I do think there will be more SW on the silver screen. I don't think there is really any question about that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I question it.
  23. The Milky Way Galaxy is about 80-100 thousand light years in diameter, about 3,000 light years in thickness, and about 250-300 thousand light years in circumference. It is composed of 200 to 400 billion stars (exact number not yet known). As a guide to the relative physical scale of the Milky Way, if the galaxy were reduced to 130 km (80 mi) in diameter, the solar system would be a mere 2 mm (0.08 in) in width. ... It would take the solar system about 225-250 million years [9] to complete one orbit ("galactic year"), and so is thought to have completed about 20-25 orbits during its lifetime. The orbital speed is 217 km/s, i.e. 1 light-year in ca. 1400 years, and 1 AU in 8 days. ref
