Would more U.S. troops help stop Iraq violence?
You were talking about "illegal wars" which is like talking about the immorality of a preying mantis killing a spider.

Do you like WW2 grand strategy naval wargames?
So there are nighttime bombardments, then? Cool.

Crysis
Ok, now this has potential. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I'm not even interested in the graphics (though it's a nice bonus).

Well, the tv series was on when I was younger, and The Incredible Hulk was my favourite comic (along with Iron Man: I still remember the look on the customs official's face when I took my entire collection through the checkpoint at Moscow :D ); so it only makes sense that I took an active interest in such details. Extra-terrestrial object crash lands in/near North Korea; PC is an operative sent there to investigate (cue lots of politically-correct violence against the eeeeevil North Koreans, who have got to the crashsite first); then the object triggers some environmental event whereby the world starts to freeze, from the crashsite out (cue lots of politically-correct violence against aliens).

Itunes: Biggest piece of crap ever?
Let's not let the casual public reader to Obsidian's commercial website think that anyone here would condone anything even remotely shady: I'm sure you were talking about buying music via the traditional methods, CD, DVD, etc.

Twins! So we have time, place and a confession ... :D

Movies You Have Seen Lately
T3 was just a cynical G-rated expansion of the original R plot, via the M-rated Cameron kerching of T2.

Garbage. Kofi Annan couldn't even make the Sudanese government stop their Janjaweed genocidal attacks in the Darfur. Let alone tell China to get out of Tibet. The UN has no authority, besides that which is given to it by the countries of the world. And that is nothing. I say again, there is no such thing as an "illegal war". Talk all you want about ethics and morals, but the legal "arena" is a combative one.

You could ride dragons in community mods in NwN.

It's not gay: it's an archetype.

It's not one for one. If the US didn't retaliate against al-Quaeda, it would be a starter's pistol telling every nutjob to attack the US without fear of retaliation.

Sheesh, I'm going to have to stop typing on my lap, if all these typos are going to keep causing such a disruption in the fora. :D

Movies You Have Seen Lately
Surprising, to me: I saw the first one in the cinema (when I was in high-school) and it literally launched Arnie's career (he'd made a couple of films before, but nothing that left a mark). The plot alone is almost perfect; add to that some excellent characters and great performances ... it was just a B-movie, and (after Cameron was finished with the sequel) they actually had to remaster the sound of the original from Monaural!

I knew that. :">

You think there was a Terminator film that was worse?

Consumer Electronics Show 2007
Those are good points: the industry is nowhere near as claustrophobic as it was back in Betamax days ... but unit costs are always going to sway manufacturers.

Itunes: Biggest piece of crap ever?
That's not a fault of DRM, it is a poor implementation by greedy producers.

Crysis
David was the TV series (the producers thought "Bruce" was too effeminate), even though his name was "Bruce David Banner" in the comics, IIRC.

NWN2 English 1.04 Beta is released!
Well, I think we've read enough of the "Gromnir-Volourn slapfest" ... it's a pity there wasn't any real conversation about the patch.

The Black Hound FAQ
Yeah, I don't know how many times it has to be debated, but a low-powered PC must use the wits of the player to solve problems, rather than the combat power of the PC. Which is one type of fun, as opposed to the FPS type of fun, for example.

Crysis
It's going to be very Deus Exi-like, with bonuses to slealth, power, speed, regeneration etc.

I remember when I discovered how important it was to Britain: think about all the uses for rubber, and then note that it is a very scarce resource. I think Malaysia is about the only place in the world where there are mass robber plants. It's not so important now, since petroleum products have taken over a lot of the roles, but for the eighteenth and nineteenth century it was a war-winner.

How can you have an "illegal war"? Whose law are you using? Countries aren't subject to laws, without agreeing to them via a treaty. "International Commission of Jurists", gee I'll bet the US government is quaking in their boots at the pronouncement from these guys. Oh, wait, this is who they are: There is no international law. I'd be surprised if the US has ratified their authority; and (unlike individuals born into a country), individual countries have primacy. There are barely laws that govern individual countries. Anyway, to continue quoting from YOUR source: Every point there was broached by the "enemy combatants" in Iraq. No wonder the US was peeved that they were fighting a bunch of people who fight without concern for ANY of these. And you call yourself a humanitarian. tsk tsk As for your second link: The US and Britain acted on their own legal interpretation of resolution 1441. You can't have it both ways; you can't advocate the legal system (i.e. your ICJ, above) AND rule out due legal process for the countries. See the problem here yet? Even though you've made up your mind that events are a certain way, that doesn't mean your fantasy matches reality. I guess all the nay-sayers were wrong: the elections were held and there is now a sovereign Iraqi government. So much for your rabid rantings about "illegal war"; I see a legitimate democratic Iraqi government, voted for by the beleaguered people who were being starved and tortured by Saddam. That sounds like justice to me. And isn't that what law is about?
