Is it just me or is no one taking this seriously? I mean really...the cheek of it... (w00t)

(w00t) http://www.worldjumpday.org/ The time..July 20th. The place..EARTH! Yeah, ok. Anyway, get out of your damn chairs and start jumping.

At first it sounded like it would be some kind of spiritual successor to the X-Com games but, from further reading, I was disappointed to have my expectations dashed. Still, the engine sounds impressive.

Wow those Blue Lotus pictures make it look really good. Mebbe I should try it out...

I would recommend playing through one normal campaign and then trying out Total Realism or Europa Barbarorum. Haven't got the Barbarian Invasion expansion so I couldn't give you any info on that. Out of Total Realism and EB I would recommend EB but that's just me. Try them both and see which one you like, they are both top quality mods.

JA2 is, imo, superb. It is just one of those games that I too find I pick up year after year and replay. Although I could never bring myself to ever finish it off completely...I reach the very end and instead of well..I won't spoil it here..but instead of finishing it I retreat my mercs and go wreak havoc among the countryside. I love the games' open endedness. Anyway, yes I am a fanboy for this game

Yeah I've tried the patch out. Definite improvement in performance. Also, no CTD's yet...

I fire up the old Lucasarts adventures every now and again. X-COM and UFO usually get a replay about every year

What's Your Favorite Gaming Moment?
The.Donut replied to Dark_Lord_Revan's topic in Computer and Console
The ending moments of Monkey Island 2, Fate Of Atlantis, probably all of Little Big Adventure 2, ohh and UFO and X-Com - some damn good, scary moments in those two, completing Zelda: Links Awakening ages ago on the Gameboy (and Ultima Runes of Virtue on the Gameboy for that matter), the last few bits of Beneath a Steel Sky, the atmosphere of Doom 3, the atmosphere of Fallout (first time I played it was like midnight - superb), errrrr yeah. Think that's everything (w00t) oh yeah and completing Maniac Mansion for the first time after so long. -
Hahaha, that made my day. Good job.

At this precise moment the only band I could say that is my favorite of all time would have to be Empyrium, especially their last album Weiland. It's superb. Another band worthy of mention is Agalloch, their album The Mantle is a masterpiece. Oh yes, perhaps not one of my favorite bands (if you take into account the entire discography) but definately worth mentioning is Burzum's album Hvis Lyset Tar Oss.

No, it's not. It's the sequel to UFO: Aftermath. A bloody awful game if I may say so. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, what he said. I just felt the need to re-emphasise that UFO: Aftermath and UFO: Aftershock are in no way affiliated with the X-Com games.

Your Type is INFP Introverted Intuitive Feeling Perceiving Strength of the preferences % 11 22 22 11 Healer Idealists are abstract in thought and speech, cooperative in striving for their ends, and informative and introverted in their interpersonal relations. Healer present a seemingly tranquil, and noticiably pleasant face to the world, and though to all appearances they might seem reserved, and even shy, on the inside they are anything but reserved, having a capacity for caring not always found in other types. They care deeply-indeed, passionately-about a few special persons or a favorite cause, and their fervent aim is to bring peace and integrity to their loved ones and the world. Healers have a profound sense of idealism derived from a strong personal morality, and they conceive of the world as an ethical, honorable place. Indeed, to understand Healers, we must understand their idealism as almost boundless and selfless, inspiring them to make extraordinary sacrifices for someone or something they believe in. The Healer is the Prince or Princess of fairytale, the King's Champion or Defender of the Faith, like Sir Galahad or Joan of Arc. Healers are found in only 1 percent of the general population, although, at times, their idealism leaves them feeling even more isolated from the rest of humanity. Pretty accurate I'd say.

So true, but also at this moment i'm rather enjoying the Subterranean Masquerade EP called Temporary Psychotic State. Shame it's only got two songs on it. Oh yes, and the two tribute albums to Jason Becker.
