  1. Me too! It's interesting how we each have a 'type' of sorts which does not necessarily conform to society's images of people's attractiveness.
  2. I really liked it too, though I found the family drama with the hot Russian trying to drive a wedge between the husband and wife a bit much. It did end on a high note so I will tune in for the second season.
  3. For those of you who've been missing a steampunk-like cRPG: https://venturebeat.com/2019/08/06/dark-envoy-is-the-next-rpg-from-tower-of-time-studio-event-horizon/ https://store.steampowered.com/app/945770/Dark_Envoy/ Looks quite interesting to me even though it's not quite my usual preference for a game.
  4. So, when do you all think we will start hearing about what's next for Obsidian? Will it only be after TOW is released or is it possible we will hear something before then?
  5. See this recent article where Cameron Tofer, one of the core creators of BG, directly addresses it: https://www.denofgeek.com/us/games/pc-gaming/282565/baldurs-gate-legacy The tabletop origins of RPGs does not justify sticking with TB for video games, because by that logic we should also stick with tabletop itself and not have progressed to computers. Coming up with new ideas and new ways of doing things is a must for anything to survive into the future.
  6. Or maybe because they felt that RTwP would provide a superior gameplay experience than the age-old TB way of doing things.
  7. Hehe. I got my master's in aerospace engineering from the University of Tennessee's Space Institute, the institution that was built to piggyback off of those German scientists, including von Braun, who were housed and working nearby.
  8. Right on! As a former aerospace engineer, this week has been awesome for me with all the 50th anniversary of Apollo11 shows on TV.
  9. Do you mean wait until the season is done and then subscribe for a month to watch all the episodes? Also, when you say the whole library, do you mean all of their shows? I am not at all familiar with streaming services.
  10. Yeah me too. I really hope Netflix allows you to just subscribe to a specific show only.
  11. Don't think I can provide a meaningful rank-ordering, but among recent cRPGs: I love PoE1, PoE2, and P:K. I like T:ToN. I hate the D:OS games. Among modern ARPGs, I love DA:O, DA:I, and Witcher 3, like DA2 and Oblivion, and hate Skyrim.
  12. With the season pass it was only about $22, and I've been playing the heck out of it since, so well worth my money.
  13. Used the recent Steam sale to pick up two non-RPG games that have been on my wishlist for a while: Surviving Mars, and The Operational Art of War 4.
  14. Having just completed the base game of Witcher 3, I started playing the first expansion, but so far am not enjoying it much. I want to be clear it isn't anything about the quality of the expansion, which is excellent. It's just that there isn't a compelling "big" story to keep me engaged and wanting to play on. But most of all it is that combat (which was always a pain) has become utter drudgery. They're all just long-winded slug-fests against foes that are immune to everything and have like a million health. Don't think I'll be finishing even the first expansion let along getting into the second one.
  15. This is the kind of question where one would hope (and expect) that someone from Obsidian would consider it appropriate to chime in and enlighten us. But alas ....
  16. I was only referencing these developers because for some people it seems that D:OS2 having sold well makes Larian an awesome studio. So by that logic I was asking if the same applied to Bethesda given Skyrim sales numbers. I'm personally not a fan of either Skyrim or Bethesda (though I do like CDPR).
  17. But this just brings up another question: clearly NwN1 (in the form of its enhanced edition) does not have any Atari issues, so why does NwN2 continue to have Atari issues?
  18. Does anyone know why NwN2 is not available on Steam? Separately, does NwN2 loaded from the original CDs run fine in Windows 10? I've never bothered to try as I assumed it would be too much trouble to try and get it to run. So any feedback would be appreciated.
  19. Seems like many of you play a variety of games and not just RPGs, so anyone here played Surviving Mars? It's on my Steam list and I'd very much appreciate any feedback. In particular I can't help but wonder if it's the type of game where it's loads of fun the first two or three times but then very quickly loses its appeal.
  20. Well everything I've been reading, especially the recent German article, points to the game being third person, or at least something that is NOT isometric. Besides, I just can't see a AAA game with a budget upwards of $50m being isometric.
  21. I think a Witcher 3 style game using D&D would be quite awesome. I did not care for the D:OS games one bit, so I have no basis for trusting Larian and have deep misgivings about and skepticism of Larian doing a good job with this game. I fear BG3 will play like D:OS2 (though probably not look like it since BG3 will most likely be third person). That will kill my interest in the game and, as a hardcore fan of the original BG games, leave me bitterly disappointed.
  22. In that case wouldn't the makers of Skyrim (Bethesda) and The Witcher 3 (CDPR) have been MUCH better fits? I don't think Larian is a particularly good fit at all, but I understand that Larian is the current "cool" studio for many of the idiots inside WotC as well as for most of the gaming news media.
  23. Finally finished Witcher 3. Got the really good ending. Did every single quest. What an incredibly awesome game! Will be doing the DLCs next. :)
  24. Thanks for checking! I vaguely remembered it had something to do with a statue coming back to life.
  25. My understanding was that in the Murder in Baldur's Gate pnp module (I think) it was revealed that Minsc and Boo had been turned to stone long ago and someone had mistaken them for a statue and, heroes that they are, placed them in a town square somewhere. Then along came some adventurers in the current timeline who decided to cast 'stone to flesh' on the statue and voila!
