Sad that it's something I won't get to play since it is first person.

Moon, mars, asteroids, I don't care I want it all to happen. I have had a deep and abiding love for human exploration and settlement of space since I was like 5 years old. That's why my first couple of degrees are in aerospace engineering. And since I am now in my fifties and I want to see this stuff become a reality in my lifetime, I am impatient as hell and want it to have happened yesterday.

Yeah sadly I have to agree with this. I loved the base game but quit when, after beating the base game, I started Blood & Wine. The DLCs are of excellent quality. It's just that once you are high level the combat encounters become tedious chores to get through. Also, there's just not much, if any, character development left at that point, so ....

What about NwN3? I seriously believe Obsidian should campaign for it with WotC (while also making PoE3 obviously).

I play wargames too but only ones at the operational or strategic levels and not ones at the tactical level. You may also like Armored Brigade from Matrix Games.

You can turn down the difficulty setting. That tends to work in those super-difficult battles and allows you to move on.

But he does praise the game and how it is turning out.

I'm with you on this. I also don't have any evidence, but my gut tells me this was a major turn-off for many hardcore cRPG fans. I would then add that reinventing the game mechanics from PoE1 was likely also a major turn-off for many who had liked PoE1.

No I'm with you as well. If they want to go TB, they should do it with a completely new game. A PoE3 should remain RTwP. I would not buy a TB PoE3. But I also disagree with @Boeroer's take on Josh's postmortem. What I heard from it was that TB brought in additional sales but nothing spectacular, and that Obsidian was not going to be moving away from RTwP altogether.

Me too! It's interesting how we each have a 'type' of sorts which does not necessarily conform to society's images of people's attractiveness.

I really liked it too, though I found the family drama with the hot Russian trying to drive a wedge between the husband and wife a bit much. It did end on a high note so I will tune in for the second season.

Right on! As a former aerospace engineer, this week has been awesome for me with all the 50th anniversary of Apollo11 shows on TV.

Do you mean wait until the season is done and then subscribe for a month to watch all the episodes? Also, when you say the whole library, do you mean all of their shows? I am not at all familiar with streaming services.

Don't think I can provide a meaningful rank-ordering, but among recent cRPGs: I love PoE1, PoE2, and P:K. I like T:ToN. I hate the D:OS games. Among modern ARPGs, I love DA:O, DA:I, and Witcher 3, like DA2 and Oblivion, and hate Skyrim.

With the season pass it was only about $22, and I've been playing the heck out of it since, so well worth my money.

Used the recent Steam sale to pick up two non-RPG games that have been on my wishlist for a while: Surviving Mars, and The Operational Art of War 4.

Having just completed the base game of Witcher 3, I started playing the first expansion, but so far am not enjoying it much. I want to be clear it isn't anything about the quality of the expansion, which is excellent. It's just that there isn't a compelling "big" story to keep me engaged and wanting to play on. But most of all it is that combat (which was always a pain) has become utter drudgery. They're all just long-winded slug-fests against foes that are immune to everything and have like a million health. Don't think I'll be finishing even the first expansion let along getting into the second one.
