  1. Sort of... yes and no. I live here, yet I live and work in a very multi/inter-national environment where we are way more people from overseas than locals. It was the same thing when living in New Zealand. I have more Dutch, Indian, South African, Danish, German, Pom, Indonesian, Malayasian etc. colleagues than Aussie colleagues. Only when getting away from work and "mingling" do I get to actually experience Australia. Kind of weird, I know.
  2. That leaves us a few days to get to the next page I need to go back re-read the part where he got the holy avenger. The fight can't be that easy (or maybe I'm that bad) >_
  3. Nah, I'm being Nordic (Danish ex-pat here).
  4. I find myself going through 95% of the game without ever touching my heavy weapon. Then I unleash most of my heavy ammo on the thresher maw. It almost kills it in one shot if timed correctly at the start of the combat. Edit:
  5. It's about as sure as pushing a button... tell Nordic people that there is something they are not allowed to say or talk about and they become all agitated. Even to the point of becoming militant about it. Freedom of speech is not something just enshrined in an official piece of paper somewhere, it is a deep seated cultural thing.
  6. Hammerhead beats the crap out of Planet Scanning. Edit: I've been sorely tempted to get Overlord and Lair of the Shadowbroker, but my resentment of paid DLC's will probably keep them off my PC. Hopefully there will be a big box set of ME2 + all addons some day.
  7. I'm at work now, so no NWN2 in front of me (which means it's from top of my head). Isn't it question of selecting resolution with the "correct" proportions, i.e. 9:6 or 10:6? I seem to remember running it in 2560x1600 without having to do anything. For lower resolutions, 1920x1080 etc. might work.
  8. Wow... it is actually more effective to kill their leaders than the footsloggers! Good thing we have geniuses like that, otherwise we would never have figured that one out Now we just need another one of those geniuses from the department of practical math to tell how to actually accomplish it in the field.
  9. Not suggesting that it is less corruptible as such, just suggesting not to underestimate the power of perception. The further away the man on the floor is removed from decision making, the more he is prone to resent the decision makers. The last time Danish police opened fire on people in the streets (since 1945) to control the crowds was after the politicians decided that the Maastricht treaty referendum needed a "re-run" because they didn't like the way people voted the first time.
  10. Hey stop that... I'm playing soldier right now. Trying to play a female Shepard because everybody says the voice acting is better. It probably is, but I suck at roleplaying females. It's just a guy with boobs and a higher pitched voice now
  11. This one has always bugged me so much. Angles of Death sounds like it could be made into a neat Paranoia supplement. And by neat I mean totally nuts and it will infuriate your players. Angles between 80 and 100 degrees are above your security clearance. All players must spend the entire session leaning at least 10 degrees off center. Meh, a universe full of make-up peddlers and fatal corners.
  12. I'm curious, why so many make this spelling mistake? You should have seen some of the old wh40k discussion forums (usenet) a decade or more ago. Rouge Trader and Angles of Death was pretty much the de facto spelling ')
  13. Never heard of APB I go back and revisit WAR once or twice a month after it became free to play. Thats the depth of my knowledge of MMO's
  14. The only "multicultural" place I've seen/experienced for a longer period of time would be New Zealand. The Maori have kept some aspects of their culture and given up on others. They don't eat the losers of a conflict any more.
  15. That is probably the one thing that the common European fears the most and the reason why there is so much resistance to giving up national sovereignty to a bunch of career politicians in Brussels. The abject fear that big corporations will be able run roughshod over them, ignoring regulations and oversight rules. Lets say company A decides that cancerinogen B makes a wonderful addition to kids toys, because it is much cheaper to manufacture. Today they'll have to convince 25+ governments to lower the consumer protection standards. If Brussels had the power, they would only need one government on their payroll. Yeah, I think most people see the "Eurocrats" as corporate lapdogs not to be trusted, which is why the people vote against the politicians in just about every referendum that they have dared offer the people. People wants countries run by the people and keep a leash on corporations, not the other way around. Such "socialist" thinking is probably anathema to any good capitalist
  16. Add Robin Hood to the list of terrorists.
  17. Get rid of nation states. That would free the world from the scourge of nationalism.
  18. Still doesn't really fit considering that the Grey Wardens aren't really destroy and you don't have to resurrect them. The stories have some common ground, true, but that's just because they both rely on fantasy clich
  19. They just don't make woody entertainment like that anymore Mass produced tinny stuff is all that seems to come out of the assembly lines these days
  20. The Void. Too much bare boobies to show here, but quite atmospheric. If you'll excuse me, I have a tree to paint
  21. I never understood what people saw in 'Seinfeld' But then, I loved 'Finding Nemo' and a colleague that I lent the dvd to hated it. Humor seems to be a very subjective thing
  22. Maybe they are trying to revive the "golden era" of homegrown European terrorists when the Italian Red Brigades, the German Rote Armee Fraction etc. killed bankers and industrialists in "the name of the people". Never mind that people didn't really want to be liberated by them. Not defending those guys, just noting that they were idealists, not in it for the fame or the money.
  23. I don't know why it amuses me so much knowing that you paid three times as much for the exact same part as I did (i7 920 @ 3.2 GHz). Schadenfreude. Bah, my computer is cooler than yours
