  1. One thing Deus Ex could stand to use much more instead of vent crawling was the same aspect of extinguishing light sources as seen in Thief. There just wasn't a whole lot of it, and most light sources that I recall were indestructible.
  2. I can't but my arm has already taken flight.
  3. I'm like Llyranor's avatar, but at five times the speed.
  4. Except there's more ways to achieve this than by excessive use of vent crawling. Multiple path and associated level progression doesn't need to be confined to the same one trick pony.
  5. I will mention that I just got refreshed with 50 GMail invite codes. I will mention that GMail is easily the most incredible email account I've ever seen. I will mention that I pity the fool that doesn't have a Gmail account at this point. I will mention that you could theoretically message me for an account, but equally theoretically I will mention that I may not feel like giving one.
  6. Will news that Sawyer will be migrating to Obsidian ranks awake ramza from his slumber only to go on another Jefferson rampage?
  7. I don't think Gauntlet will be affected that much, even with Sawyer's departure from Midway and going to Obsidian.
  8. Well, that's a given. The trick is to work with what you have and present choices and branching storylines which don't require twelve years of non-interrupt man work. I believe Troika's games had an optimal approach to this - every area presents a set of quests or situations which can be solved in several ways, but not many present such a branching complexity that would be detrimental to the game's development. Most quests are self-contained, and only some have later repercussions. Not only that, there still remains a mostly linear path to the endgame, even if at some point during that path you can 'change sides' or motivations, be it somewhat halfway (Arcanum), or in the very end (Vampire). I'm sure this is expensive and taxing on resources... But honestly, so is full voice acting and other such features, if nor moreso.
  9. My point is I find designing and creating branching storylines to be more crucial to the game than other artificial elements which I don't really find necessary at all.
  10. Not sure if they are as expensive as hiring reputed musicians to make symphonies, historians to create new languages, and hiring voice actors to dub every line of dialogue in the game.
  11. That's alright. I just have to get used to it.
  12. On a related point, I can't associate Ender's new avatar to him :/
  13. Crusader: No Rectum sounds strangely appealing... In some way I can't explain.
  14. First version of Cyclops' visor.
  15. I stopped keeping up to date with X-Men right before Age of Apocalypse. I read the cliffhanger issue of the M'Kraan Crystallization and Legion's murder of Xavier, and pretty much remained at that.
  16. Holy alien conspiracy, Wonder Boy!
  17. Japan and China are becoming weirder than all of Kim Jong-Ill's madness combined. I don't think there's any other place on earth which combines reality and fantasy as well as either of those two places. Japan remains the main offender, though.
  18. Fallout Online: Crunch Time, the new BBC reality show. Next week vote on who you think should leave: Herve or the rats.
  19. And the site has been updated.
  20. I think that is true, and is a likely catalyst. However, let's be honest: most of the time developers can claim something is innovative without it actually being so. Most gamers by far and large gobble up developer promises and hype... Then amusingly nevermind the lack of what was promised or advertised.
  21. Who writes these laws? It sounds weirder than a Burton and Lynch movie combined.
  22. We'll all see, I guess. While I also like details, sometimes I wish there was more than them to keep me going.
