Don't worry your secret is safe with us. And by safe I mean I'm going to get paid as a mole to leak this into every tabloid I can.

Bit extreme, no? Your aggression under the context of stress relief doesn't have to be aimed at others as a single alternative to aggression to yourself. It's not an 'this or that' issue. I'm sure you could find other ways of putting it to some other use, like various kinds of sports or activities; specially competitive ones.

Self-aggression is a terrible thing, nonetheless. I know from experience, both personal and with others. I suggest you should try something different, or at least to not harm yourself directly.

Isn't that what children sometimes do? I'm not saying you are, but I've dealt with several children in the past who had anger management problems and that seemed to be one of their recurring things, misdirected aggression. Often at themselves. Do you have anger management problems? Being stress free doesn't exclude it...

Split from Missy's Lair. I'm curious and I thought it could be a nice topic of discussion; perhaps even a couple of suggestions could spring up on how to handle stress, worries or just letting off steam. Something I've done for years, then quit for a while then started again, is writing. I don't have any aspirations or delusions I'll ever be a writer; I think what I write is pretty mediocre, even if I post it all on a blog (how hypocritical of me, perhaps). But I just write because it gives me pleasure to do so and also because it helps me handle much of what happens around me. Problems, sorrows, stress - I usually filter most of that trough writing and sometimes find myself in writing frenzies, even, when I want to let many things out and dialogue or relaxation aren't viable alternatives. This weekend alone I went from fifteen small texts to beginning work on a screenplay (something which I've never written before) to advancing with story elements for the NWN2 project I'm working on. It may all be for naught but it helps me greatly. Another thing I also do is to listen to music which lately has replaced playing videogames. I still play them but not for stress relief; just pure fun. I can end up picking up all the albums around the house and playing them in random order and spend an entire day like that. Strangely I found even some music which could be considered aggressive does sooth me as well. Of course last but certainly not the least, spending time with my girlfriend is also a great way of doing this. Whenever we're together there's this chemistry where we feel we're almost totally alone and are only there for ourselves; problems temporarily stop existing. We're not only lovers, we're also great friends and this helps us and our relationship tremendously; we're proud of how we communicate all the time and share experiences, worries and perspectives on things and it does help both of us to handle many situation better. What do you people do?

Or so they would like everyone to think!

...Maybe he is writing a report!

Maybe it's just in BIG LETTERS that don't fit the screen?
-
Maybe the parts he was assembled with didn't include fast typing fingers? Just look at Frankenstein's monster, all brawn and no brain.

Yesterday I finally managed to see Munich. I enjoyed it very much; Spielberg's way of dealing with multiple themes other than the main motive of the film shine trough, and the solid performance helped a lot. Even situations which may be considered pass

Portugal. Goddamn freakish celebrity cults.

...and now you see one of the many reasons why RAI was toned down. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Would an amulet to detect a given type of creature for this quest be too much to create as opposed to 'toning down' the AI?

You do know this is Bioware we're talking about, right? They hype is larger than life and I'm sure we could all sit around the campfire trading our fondest memories about it in their past ventures. Dragon Age isn't out yet but it's already a 'blockbuster'. One of the suggested features of Dragon Age was to allow players to 'enslave nations with necromancy' - which by the way is no longer on the game's page.

hey but hes consistent wit is inconsistency lolz <3

Precisely. Thanks for that honest post, Magical Llyranor. If I ever get the chance to borrow it I will, though, just so I can brandish a certificate when I make any criticism about the game; but a purchase is out of the question. Neverwinter Nights 2 better be good, Feargus. I'm watching you.

Can he flip out yet? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What about performing the Rain of Stabbity Death?

On the other hand I won't bother with Oblivion. There's little I've seen that excites me about the title, and some of the hype has fell trough the cracks of many experiences several gamers have shared on the net, including the TES Forums.

I would like to express surprise at this announcement but that would be against my prevalent cynicism.

I don't know about yours but I'd sell every body part of mine except for my meat canon and my eyes.

I thought that was when you touched-touched-touched yourself?

I think the whole problem with the turnbased model in Fallout was that it only applied, controlwise, to a single character. It was soul numbing because players had to sit back and watch party NPCs slug trough it without any kind of player input. In a game like Temple of Elemental Evil, it becomes much more attractive and interactive to issue orders to a group which you have full control over; you can analyze the battlefield and devise tactics that take NPC skills into consideration. In Fallout there wasn't much you can do beyond controlling the PC, then wait for every other character in the current battle to make their move. To that degree I agree it wasn't a success. It worked as a means to an end, but that's pretty much all I can say about it. The ToEE model was vastly superior for a number of reasons and ideally that would be where I would like to see Fallout's combat model go, with perhaps only a small number of improvements.

Because speed sliders and mechanisms to solve time sinks obviously don't exist.

Because kumquatq is a commie. A nice one, but still a commie. -

True and that's something I'd do as well but I have to be very sure of the Revolution's full capabilities before doing so.
