Here we go, a class action lawsuit filed against Nintendo.

Why? It makes perfect sense even for a tech demo, because, well, you've got show the best you can do with your hardware. Putting a photo in a video card promo material is, on the other hand, pointless.
-
And that's why it should totally be replaced with real people? I'm lost. Yes, it is a demo, but it shows the potential and the features of hardware (and not only to retail customers). Hence it is not pointless. A few years ago a programmable pipeline was exotic. Oh, and pores:

So you are implying that you can have a 3D model in a 3D game without vertex or texture mapping data, based purely on 2D sequence of frames?
-
Significant issue: You can't make 3D games with shots of real people. Less significant issue: It can be hard to find the people you need (say, 4-handed, 5-eyed monster). Common sense: 3D graphics is being developed and invested in, so someone with a bit more business knowledge than us obviously thinks that it is cost-effective. I can recall one, Half-Life 2. But I don't play too much modern games, so... Regardless, I don't really see the point of going back to 2D video-based games with real people (if that's what you are implying), when you can do much more with 3D. I hated them back in the past, I still hate them now.

Simple. Because if you throw a real rock today, you may accidentally become liable for physical damages to someone/someone's property. Not exactly a direct analogy with digital people, but you get the idea. BTW, creating skin texture involves more than just scanning (now only if I remembered where did I have this link...).

From bioforums. I lol'd.

Does Obsidian intend to make an RPG like FO?

Actually that`s not so far away from the truth. I`m one of those who would buy anything with Chris Avellone`s name attached to it... even if it would be "The Erotic Adventures of Winnie the Pooh". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think it is that much relevant sales-wise, as the majority of buyers don't even know who Avellone is. -
Sounds like a gimmick account to me.

It would've been very kind of the original poster to provide a link to the original article. On topic:  Jack Thompson's head is going to explode of excitement.

I meant the alternative mail clients, which use their own address book formats. The reason Windows address book is so widely used by malware authors is that because can be easily accessed even from a vbscript. I haven't seen a malware sample yet that looks for Thunderbird address book, probably because it is not widespread enough. And it is not just the web mail, but the whole mail service that has virus scanning.
-
I'd add to this list (thus reiterating some of the points I've been saying before) Disable JavaScript, whitelist trusted sites that require it. Don't use top selling AV software (Symantec, Trend Micro, McAfee) Actually I don't see the reason for not using an e-mail client. Why not use Thunderbird or TheBat instead?

Safrosoft RoX Best freeware game ever. A mix of arcade and puzzle. And cool music too. (w00t)

Donnie Darko. I would give it 4 stars. The best time travel movie ever is still Primer.

When she meets her Circle (IIRC, Act III).

The list of free virus scanners. And I would recommend to simply not get infected.

This is why they are so reluctant to admit the mistake. Imagine how much of these customers would ask for a refund.

I think, the reason for some people not liking the transition to voiceover (me) is because it forces you to hear the character the certain way. With text, I can hear it in my brain. Even though the actual reply is spelled out, I have a way of imagining how it is pronounced, and I can hear what I want to hear, i.e. the "perfect" voiceover. I cringe every time when I hear overly dramatic ("non-real") voice acting, and/or sometimes outright terrible VO (Aribeth!). Even better would be to have a "thought amplifier", so you'd actually hear the and sense these little details the way you really imagine it should be.
-
I disagree, but you already probably know.
-
I don't really see the issue. Since it is an easy technical task to "hide" full replies from the player and replace them with shorter tags, how hard would it be to implement the option (or at least a hack) to turn viewing full replies back on?

I'd argue that. In BG2 you couldn't talk to your companions directly, the conversations were always triggered by them. IMO, it was a major flaw. -

What does that even mean? Don't have time for a 40+ hour game? Does that mean they buy Jade Empire (15 hours) and then never again buy another game because they don't have the time? Or they buy Gears of War, play it for 10 hours and then never play another game again because the don't have time? All these people not having time for a 40+ hour game only own ONE game that they've played once in their entire life because they don't have time for any more? A 40+ hour game is like four Gears of War-type games. Most gamers have more than four games. I am sure they aren't planning on playing the 40+ hour game from start to finish in one sitting. 40+ hours only means more value for your money. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pidesco has a point. I, for one, find myself unable to play a lot lately because of full-time employment. Heck, I have finished NWN2 only a few days ago (and at the cost of severe sleep deprivation). And funny thing, I remember roshan bashing FO2 for having garbage skill mechanics that doesn't offer a lot of choice and calling it a "massively flawed game". Is Fallout 1 that much different? -
Not the same. CDs and DVDs are not faster than flash memory. These guys have created a new semiconductor alloy using this concept.
