Should Josh Pull *THIS GUY* Outta retirement?
213374U replied to Sargallath Abraxium's topic in Way Off-Topic
Non sequitur. Sales have nothing to do with objective product quality. While I'm sure you would argue that Britney Spears is indeed a better artist than Mozart, as her sales volume is by far larger than his, anyone with half a brain can see that it isn't quite so. Because yes, there are objective parameters one can evaluate and compare between games. One of the most important in story driven games is writing. But you already know that, as you are supposedly a game reviewer. And there is another non sequitur in that you are making an analogy between the music business and the game industry, where they aren't really that similar. While in your example Britney's publisher could certainly influence the music to some degree, the artist is still the same. However, Bethesda is going to make a game whose strong points will be that what Bethesda does well, whatever that might be. But they have zero experience doing Fallout games, or anything of the like. But you already know that. Mind you, I'm not one of Troika's rabid fans and I'll reserve my opinion of F3 until I try it. But I know they aren't going to deliver a game in the same line of the previous titles of the franchise. So, please. If you want to discuss, I'm all for it. But keep your blatant fallacies to yourself. kthxbai -
Shh... if you want to keep this thread open, don't even mention them.

Yeah, I don't think I have seen anything like that. Get the "movie style robes" mod, though. It makes the godawful K1 robes much more bearable.

<insert random comment about Britney Spears here> -
I got nothing. I guess I've been very naughty this year.

KotOR Tool, for all your modding needs.

Your ol' recipe for some urban riot fun?

As far as I know, that's applying the current laws of physics to a reality in which those laws might not hold true. For starters, it's space-time itself that's expanding, not just matter. Not only that, but the Big Bang theory also predicts that in the early moments of the Universe, a lot of weird stuff is going on (matter/antimatter proportions, spatial geometry...), which requires a lot of fine-tuning to explain and fit into the theory. Fine-tuning is usually the mark of sloppy scientific work, but given the fact that we don't even have a unification theory, I'd say this is normal. However, I'd say it's still a bit early to take the Big Bang as gospel, forgive the bad pun.

You're reading too much into my post. Surely you have heard of juxtaposition? Go ahead and read the thread then, and tell me it wasn't worth of being kept open. I just got the feeling that BW flies on auto pilot when it comes to threads that mention LA. Wrong. As a matter of fact, BW lives in a time zone close to my own, perhaps the same. You see, I'm European, and if I'm not mistaken he is too. Mind you, I PM'd him when he was still online. Furthermore, when I posted this, none of the global mods were online, due to the very time zone issues you speak of. I "went on a rant" because there was little else I could do. And yeah, I knowingly, purposefully and deliberately disregarded the guidelines. But when not even you guys are "bound to a corporate read of the guidelines, but rather the intent", these things are bound to happen from time to time. Uh... what?

To a certain extent, that's exactly what they did...

Understand? Who said anything about that? My explanation was aimed at making the damn kid shut up, and if possible, make sure he doesn't ever ask me again. What, you think I actually typed "electronegativity" just for kicks?

Says you.

For those of you that are reading-impaired: And no, I don't buy the "very busy inbox" excuse. If they have time to browse forums and lock down threads, I'm going to assume they have time to read their PMs. A simple "we're looking into it" would have been enough. But if I wait (2-3 days!), the topic in question will be more than buried when it gets reopened and it will not be worth it anyway. Sorry, nobody said that being a mod was going to be easy.

On the other hand, nobody prevents him from entering politics and including in his program the suppression of said law. If sufficient people considered it a matter of the utmost importance, he would win the elections and said law would be no more. A tyranny indeed, but it's the tyranny of the majority. Bolshevism isn't exactly the same thing as communism. While you can't draw a comparison between Hitler's nationalsocialism and Marx's communism, you certainly can between bolshevism and nazism. Edited for accuracy.

I don't remember seeing that the first time I saw the lockdown message, but whatever. I know. That's why I PM'd you first, remember?

I think one has to be an idiot to have that stuff on their answering machine in a country where it's against the law. Being that stupid certainly justifies the court's decision to extend his sentence.

You guessed it! This is yet another rant from none other than the infamously charming, mod-bashing, warning-winning board terrorist, yours truly. To be fair, this is only about one mod in particular, not all of them, but still. I have noticed that Battlewookie is prompt to close certain kinds of threads, namely the K3 threads, and any thread that has any resemblance of an unfavorable opinion regarding Lucasarts. While I understand (and appreciate) his acting on the K3 threads, I'm not quite so happy about the LA threads. I'm specifically referring to the KotOR 2 did get the shaft!!! thread that only lasted for a few hours (and the poll that followed it which lasted even less). While this thread certainly had plenty of LA bashing in it, that was not its primary aim, or at least I didn't understand it as such. But anyway, I PM'd BW about it, asking him to prune the thread of bashing, put a warning so as to prevent any more of it, and reopen it. Well, I'm still waiting for him to even reply to my PM. Surely anyone can understand why I'd be reluctant to waste any more of my time PM'ing him further when I've been outright ignored before. I mean, sure, a single poster bashing LA is excuse for closing a thread, but well... I think that if a thread can be saved, it's the mod's responsability to do so, as other mods often do. Just locking it and ignoring any questions about it passes for very, very lazy moderation. But yeah, I know. Nobody would want to continue this debate, because I'm "well adept at sparring", but that's not going to prevent me from trying, right? Edited for completion.

I think that's about it. If I'm not mistaken, It's because of the uneven electrical charge distribution in the molecule, given the difference in electronegativity between Oxygen (with only Fluorine being more electronegative) and Hydrogen. When molecules fall into place due to the loss of kinetic energy, the strong dipoles force a structure similar to that of ionic compounds. That is, a very organized, very strong net structure.

Does that mean I'll finally be able to [Force Choke] people in dialogues? Uh, wait a sec...
-
No idea. Don't take my word for it, though. If you have KotOR Tool, go to ERFs -> Modules -> 852NIH_dlg.erf -> 852nih.dlg. As you can see, at some point they intended for you to have the chance to join Nihilus as his apprentice, and kill Visas to prove yourself to him. It would make sense that Telos was destroyed after this, as there would be nobody to stop the Sith.
-
That's no rumor. The whole dialogue is still there, but apparently it was cut as well. It's still weird that they would put the movie in the multimedia patch, when it wasn't in the original game.

Aww, yeah! Jizzle's back! And he's got a whole new bunch of "ur mum" comebacks to boot! These boards so need more cool kids like him.

Intelligent design is pseudoscience. Therefore, it shouldn't be taught at the same level as true science. The need for a legal ruling is flabbergasting, though.
