  1. No. I see you keep claiming this everytime the issue comes up, but I still have to see you put forth convincing arguments. SPECIAL worked just fine in FOT. The interface was crap, though, as it was impossible to carry out complex maneuvers, or anything that involved controlling more than one party member at a time. The game didn't suffer from gameplay imbalances derived from the ruleset, as is the case with K2, though. I would think you can see the difference between the game interface and the ruleset implementation by now.
  2. Huh? How do you expect to make sense out of something if you purposefully disregard the material it's based on? Regardless of what you consider canon or not, the Sith species is a recurrent theme in the TotJ era (newsflash: KotOR is set in the TotJ era), and considering that everything in that era is not canon, the Sith race are as good a part of the EU as anything else. So, like it or not, the Sith race exist in the KotOR universe. And, about Revan and the others, the term "Sith" is an EU invention that made it to the movies. You will find that in the OT, nobody mentions anything about "Sith", and Darth Vader is a dark Jedi. Funny how people make up stuff in their mind, and then proceed to assume it's a fundamental truth.
  3. Huh? It's you who's not making any sense, buddy. I quoted Kaftan's post so as to make a complete reply, that actually made sense, as it addressed the same point. I quoted it so you wouldn't get lost as anything that isn't directed at you specifically seems to go over your sorry little mind. It seems I failed alright, as you got lost all the same. Oh well. Heh. I couldn't imagine that the mention of crayons would make you so hot and bothered. I wonder why is that... Er, if you were actually able to quit spouting foam and read, you'd realize that's what I've been arguing about for the whole thread. Except for when I defused your feeble argument about game sales having anything to do with quality. Keep trying, though. You make for some excellent fun. )
  4. No. No more munchkin lameass races, thank-you-very-much.
  5. Yes, and no. The Sith were a race, a rather primitive one at that. Then there was this group of maverick Jedi that had been cast out from the order because of their crazy ass dark side beliefs. They fled to the outer rim, where they encountered and conquered the Sith, and appointed themselves as rulers of this race. Thus, you have some half-breeds, such as Marka Ragnos, that were part pure blood Sith, and part something else. That is the "true" Sith empire. What I don't like about this is the naming. I mean, if those guys are the "true" Sith, that would make Revan, Malak, Palps, and the rest of the gang "fake" Sith. That's just lame. "Old" Sith empire would fit much better, without implying that the Sith we know and love are just wannabes. That's garbage. Anyone licensed by LFL to write a story in the SW universe must first present any ideas to their "canon committee", or whatever, and must count with their total approval at the time of release. If the committee doesn't like something, then that has to go. So, GL isn't really that concerned about continuity issues as you might want to imply.
  6. Oh, my. Now you're trying to cast me into an emo kid stereotype? Man, where did that come from? Any more random comments you want to make? You might as well comment on my eating habits while you're at it. If that's the best you can do (and it certainly does as you get more and more lame with each reply), this is going to end badly for you. Now, let's deal with the "substance" of your post. Hell, come think of it, I don't even need to, as I already did. Unfortunately you were so busy trying to appear smart and thinking up smarmy comebacks that you missed it. I'll quote it, though, so you don't have to exhaust yourself: That's right. Mostly. You can freely say that the formula they will most likely use (based on experience from previous games) is different to that used previously in FO games. However, you can't say it will be "unsuitable" until you see the end result. Different ≠ Bad. As you can see, I actually agree with what you said. However, comparing the sales of ToEE to those of Morrowind does not make for a valid argument regarding the quality of either product, and therefore, the ability of the developers. That's where my Britney Spears comment came from. I don't think I can simplify it any more for you, short of making you some crayon drawings.
  7. That's right. Mostly. You can freely say that the formula they will most likely use (based on experience from previous games) is different to that used previously in FO games. However, you can't say it will be "unsuitable" until you see the end result. Different ≠ Bad. Incidentally, that is a statement based 100% on personal opinion. Personal opinion ≠ Universal Law.
  8. For once, I'm with SS...
  9. ZOMG AWESOME!
  10. Non sequitur. Sales have nothing to do with objective product quality. While I'm sure you would argue that Britney Spears is indeed a better artist than Mozart, as her sales volume is by far larger than his, anyone with half a brain can see that it isn't quite so. Because yes, there are objective parameters one can evaluate and compare between games. One of the most important in story driven games is writing. But you already know that, as you are supposedly a game reviewer. And there is another non sequitur in that you are making an analogy between the music business and the game industry, where they aren't really that similar. While in your example Britney's publisher could certainly influence the music to some degree, the artist is still the same. However, Bethesda is going to make a game whose strong points will be that what Bethesda does well, whatever that might be. But they have zero experience doing Fallout games, or anything of the like. But you already know that. Mind you, I'm not one of Troika's rabid fans and I'll reserve my opinion of F3 until I try it. But I know they aren't going to deliver a game in the same line of the previous titles of the franchise. So, please. If you want to discuss, I'm all for it. But keep your blatant fallacies to yourself. kthxbai
  11. Shh... if you want to keep this thread open, don't even mention them.
  12. Yeah, I don't think I have seen anything like that. Get the "movie style robes" mod, though. It makes the godawful K1 robes much more bearable.
  13. <insert random comment about Britney Spears here>
  14. I got nothing. I guess I've been very naughty this year.

    Wemic Day?
  16. KotOR Tool, for all your modding needs.
  17. Your ol' recipe for some urban riot fun?
  18. As far as I know, that's applying the current laws of physics to a reality in which those laws might not hold true. For starters, it's space-time itself that's expanding, not just matter. Not only that, but the Big Bang theory also predicts that in the early moments of the Universe, a lot of weird stuff is going on (matter/antimatter proportions, spatial geometry...), which requires a lot of fine-tuning to explain and fit into the theory. Fine-tuning is usually the mark of sloppy scientific work, but given the fact that we don't even have a unification theory, I'd say this is normal. However, I'd say it's still a bit early to take the Big Bang as gospel, forgive the bad pun.
  19. You're reading too much into my post. Surely you have heard of juxtaposition? Go ahead and read the thread then, and tell me it wasn't worth of being kept open. I just got the feeling that BW flies on auto pilot when it comes to threads that mention LA. Wrong. As a matter of fact, BW lives in a time zone close to my own, perhaps the same. You see, I'm European, and if I'm not mistaken he is too. Mind you, I PM'd him when he was still online. Furthermore, when I posted this, none of the global mods were online, due to the very time zone issues you speak of. I "went on a rant" because there was little else I could do. And yeah, I knowingly, purposefully and deliberately disregarded the guidelines. But when not even you guys are "bound to a corporate read of the guidelines, but rather the intent", these things are bound to happen from time to time. Uh... what?
  20. To a certain extent, that's exactly what they did...
  21. Understand? Who said anything about that? My explanation was aimed at making the damn kid shut up, and if possible, make sure he doesn't ever ask me again. What, you think I actually typed "electronegativity" just for kicks?
