  1. Happy birthday mate, and keep it up.
  2. Nope. Marriage is an institution created by the Church (be it this or that), and it's defined as the union between man and woman. Anything else simply is not marriage, and forcing same sex marriages on the Church is overstepping the State's bounds. Civil same-sex unions enjoying the same social conditions/benefits of marriage though, are just fine.
  3. Er, how exactly is homosexuality a defect? Mind you, some homosexuals marry and have children, so don't go that way. They might not really enjoy it, but then again, I hate working. I'm obviously defective as well. But I digress. Unfortunately, you fail to recognize that "normality" is a random state defined culturally as much as biologically, if not more. Also, trying to debate "normality" avoiding the connotations the term has is a difficult and somewhat pointless exercise, and I suspect it's also an attempt at appearing neutral when one really isn't. The connotations are there, precisely because of what "normality" implies, and how it's defined. In this case, homosexuality seems to be a trait prevalent in a percentage of mankind, which makes me wonder if it's comparable to, say, having red hair. Your reasoning considering one abnormal and the other not is a fine example of fallacious randomness, and it would be amusing were you not trying to pass it as some sort of obvious pseudo-scientific fact. Yeah, yeah. Opinions are opinions and all that jazz, but using pseudo-science to put down a lot of people as inferior (yes, inferior as being genetically sub-par) is not very nice. EDIT: Mets beat me to it.
  4. Might be the lack of sleep, but it took me a while to realize that that was written with a humorous intent...
  5. I didn't say it was "truly" genetic. I don't believe that. I was just addressing Pidesco's point that as a useless trait for the species (from a reproductive standpoint) it would be weeded out in time. At any rate, it's probably not in the same level as Mendelian genetics, but I don't know enough about it to answer the question with a "yes" or "no". I don't think anyone can, for that matter.
  6. Ironically, this assertion has the same validity as the stuff on that page - zero. Please, prove that homosexuality *isn't* a condition. I'm not saying it is, by the way. Not really. There are many medical conditions that are caused by an inactive gene becoming active for some reason, for example. And some of those conditions are much more lethal than homosexuality (harlequin ichtyosis comes to mind). Also, and given the biochemical mechanism by which the parents' DNA is combined (the same mechanism by which brothers aren't identical), it could be some kind of error during the first stages of DNA replication.
  7. No, procrastination can't be cured. Deal with it.
  8. That would probably make for some excellent trolling material. Oh well. From what I know, there are some studies that point that sexual orientation is defined before birth due to hormonal changes (God forbid using the words imbalance or alteration) during pregnancy. If that is the case, chances are that page is just another scam. There are scientists that claim that homosexuality can be "cured" (reversed? removed? <insert PC word of choice>?), however. It's just not mainstream opinion within the scientific and medical communities. Whether that's because of the dubious quality of those theories or because of their implications, is up for debate.
  9. Cool designs. I've thought of getting some myself, but that'll have to wait until I'm no longer a parasitic bum. I'm kinda surprised you couldn't find the characters in some translator or other. I remember seeing tattoo pages that showed loads of Chinese and Japanese characters, maybe try something like that? And one of the reasons to get a tattoo that 99% of the people won't get is because it makes for good conversation topics. So there. Bad analogy. You must be out of shape, Grom. Too obvious an attempt to get the upper hand in a losing Internets Battle. Nah, you're just patronizing. Lol "moral responsibility"
  10. I won't be getting in the gloomwagon for this one. It looks nice enough from the trailers, but at this point it's probably still too early to say. And what Generals lacked was personality. It was a much better RTS than the previous C&Cs, but it was bland and generic...
  11. You can't stop it, suckers. <insert sardonic laugher>
  12. I'm not feeling any itching. You use that yourself. Can't get any worse anyway... I'm not sure he was qualified to diagnose mental illnesses. He did have a point, though. We would need an infinite amount of reviewers to try those games and find said "good game". Those reviewers would in turn produce an infinity of reviews that you would have to spend an infinite amount of time reading. Worry not, though. There's plenty of time. Pesky infinites... <_<
  13. Just don't think about it and you should be fine. "Out of sight, out of mind"...
  14. Can anyone post a link to the standards used when deciding what is a planet and what is not? This is an honest request, by the way. At any rate, I fail to see the relevance of this, beyond the small change to school programs that this change entails. Must be a slow week for news agencies...
  15. Abortion. C. And I stand by those choices. When making a decision, one can't base the choice on a marginal statistical possibility. Also, I'm well known for my fascistoid idiosyncrasy anyway, so...
  16. Or, for advanced users, you do both*. * No refunds.
  17. Is it ok if I do it inside my home or do I have to get outside? Also, do I have to fall on both feet? Please consider these questions, I wouldn't want to doom the world by doing it wrong. And I'm sure neither would you.
  18. Witty. Anyway, H-B, old boy.

    NWN2

    What do you mean, NWN2?
  20. I only dance when my judgement is severely impaired due to a high degree of intoxication. And by then, trying to pull any of those would only result in me kissing the floor. EDIT: Also, for advanced users only. clicky.
  21. My Radeon 9600XT 128 runs it just fine in a more than satisfactory level of detail and no slowdowns to speak of. I don't even have a gig of RAM either. The game is truly a marvel of code optimization.
