That's a great signing for the Rangers in my eyes. Shany is my all time favorite player. It's amazing that at 37 he was still able to pull a 40-40 season. I imagine Jagr will enjoy feeding him the puck, as he is super deadly in the circles. I can't think of a better power forward to play the game. Maybe Cam Neely, but Shanahan has managed to stay healthy, although he's lost the physical edge over the last few seasons. I believe he's still got another two solid seasons in him before his production declines. Edit: I just read a list that had Gordie Howe and Phil Esposito as power forwards, so I'm putting Shany at 3rd on that list. That's not a bad place to be.

RTS Fans: Medieval 2 Total War Announced
Hurlshort replied to Guard Dog's topic in Computer and Console
The title of this thread still bothers me. I don't really think of the TW series as an RTS. -
There are directions on the Direct2Drive website.

What happened to the Obsidian server matches? Well, if you need someone to beat up on, let me know.
-
Wow, the girl voicing Neeshka is gorgeous.

Direct2Drive allows you to re-download the game whenever you want. When you purchase the game, it becomes part of your account. You have unlimited access to the file and the CD-key.

Actually I did end up pulling stuff from Fox news in order to demonstrate journalistic bias. I finished my presentation and it seemed to go well, so thanks for the help everyone.

1.2 million isn't too bad for a veteran 4th liner. It's probably the ceiling, but Laraque has played in enough games to ask for those numbers. I don't think Ruutu deserves that yet, isn't this like his 3rd season? Maybe I should look him up.

Well, with LotR and Star Wars both wrapped up, the costume folks need something. It's better than having hordes of people show up to Superman in tights. That would be disasterous.
-
I guess I should qualify that statement. I don't enjoy killing hordes of any group. I'm not a big fan of the shooters were you kill wave after wave of anything. It seems unrealistic and repetitive to me. The Native American slaughter stood out in my mind because it really made them look like mindless savages who just attacked and attacked at all costs. I only played through the first few hours, so maybe there were positive characters further in, but it seemed to be horrible bit of stereotyping. Imagine if all the hoodlums who attacked you were clearly Irish, and they said "I'll cut off yer lucky charms!" while wearing a green hat and holding a bottle of whiskey.

Anybody looking forword to Battlefield 2142?
Hurlshort replied to Craigboy2's topic in Computer and Console
It won't be. That actually seems like a step backwards. I was extremely happy with the changes in BF2. This new one looks very nice. -
The book and movie really have very little in common.

GUN bored me. I also found it offensive to blow through entire American Indian tribes. Did you finish Hitman: Blood Money? That's my favorite on the 360 so far.

It's much more developed, because the mercs are not created by the player. They have relationships with each other and respond differently to different situations. One of my favorite moment in gaming was in JA1. You would sim through the night, and one night a fairly annoying female merc suddenly went missing. Fidel's guilty response was solid gold. You really come to love and hate your team. Anyways, the comedic timing is similiar in both games, as they had the same writers.

You aren't really talking of Xcom, you are talking about Xcom 3. While I liked 3, it doesn't compare to the first two. Back to JA2 though, this is the only game I still load up year after year. It is probably my favorite game of all time. It's much different than Xcom, although the TB combat can be compared. JA2 is about the MERC/AIM personalities. They simply rock. You owe it to yourself to pick up this game. It's remarkable how well it still looks too.

The PC will always be superior to a console system. It's not really a competition. Performance wise, the PC sets the standard. A console can copy a top of the line PC, but by the time it's put into production, newer technology is already available. There are other reasons for getting a console.

I would definitely get a desktop for many reasons. Let me also preface this by saying I was in your exact situation not too long ago, and my desktop got me through college. It broke a few times, but I was able to fix it cheaply. 1. Stability - A desktop is more stable, easier to fix independantly or with the help of someone in the dorms, and will last long enough to get you through school. A laptop will only last 2 years before starting to have issues, especially if you play any games on it. 2. Convenience - Laptops are a concern, not only because of theft. Lugging it around may seem easy at first, but you will find yourself doing this less and less. The battery will only last 3 hours, and finding an outlet isn't always easy. 3. Convenience pt. 2 - It sounds like you will be in the dorms, so you will have a nice little closet...err...room for your desktop. Seriously, Dorm rooms always have a desk for your computer. If you are worried about hauling it home on the breaks, use the money you save on a desktop to buy a flatscreen moniter. That's the heaviest part of a desktop computer anyways. 4. Power - You may think you will be all business at college, and I admire that, but it's BS. You will be playing games. You will want that extra juice that a desktop offers. I did two things at college, I worked harder than I ever had, and I played harder than I ever had. You have time for both, just do the former first.

"The Matador" It was...interesting. I really don't know how to rate it. It was interesting and hard to watch at the same time.

Actually, I almost understood the tube metaphor. He seems to be clumsily pointing out that there is net traffic and it can slow down streaming data. I'm more concerned by all the nonsensical sentences. Still, he's a senator in Alaska. It's the 3rd least populated state in the US. Most people who understand congress are not too concerned about this. The ones who use this as an excuse to bash the US are simply ignorant about US geography and government. I mean, there are plenty of good reasons to bash the US, but this one is rather weak.

Sorry, Samsanov is going to San Jose to play with his buddy Thornton.

I think Vancouver made some good moves though. They needed an overhaul, because that team was basically dead after the whole Bertuzzi incident. It seemed like they were just drained by it. They had enough talent to win, but not the heart. The new look will help get rid of that shadow, and Luongo gives them a shot to win on any given night.

I agree it's rather small for this day and age.

That might be what I need to do, although I'm using the Rockall times as a fun example for the teachers workshop. Thanks Steve and Insomniac. Hades, I agree with you, but I don't think the kids would get it

Natalie Imbruglia looks cold.

I'm working with teachers on how we can improve writing in our schools.
