Has he fully recovered yet? I don't think he's playing on the top line. I'd normally agree though.

Cheechoo might not be out too long. He will probably try and play in game 3. A knee sprain can heal up rather quick, and so far there is no evdence of tearing. edit: Still, I'd pick Michalek.

Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny - Neat movie if you are a Jack Black fan. Lots of fun cameos. Probably better stoned. We Were Soldiers - It's basically a tribute to the Air Cavalry by Mel Gibson. Well produced and directed, but not very deep. Barry Pepper takes forever to show up, but he was impressive. Everyone else kinda was one dimensional, but again, it was a tribute.

I just read on the front page that UFO:ET has been pushed back to May 1st. Since they are currently testing the supposed gold copy, that might be accurate. It seems pretty hush hush, seems like they have an odd relationship with the publisher. I'm also pretty concerned with the English translation, as Michal, the head guy there, is pretty bad at English. That might be what the publisher is doing, and if so, I expect even more delays. It takes longer than a couple weeks to translate an entire game.

I'm really confused, given Juliet's backstory, why she is so loyal. She's like brainwashed loyal, not forced loyal. It's bizarre. Michael kinda had the same thing going on, and I was never totally convinced that his situation warranted his actions.

I agree with you completely. But that, unfortunately, does not make it a reality.

Volourn, I hate to throw out the whole "I work with children" argument, but, uh, I work with children every day. Young boys look up to these athletes. I'm not saying it's right, it is just a fact. Didn't you have to sit through the whole "What makes a good role model" assembly when you were a kid?

I think it's great that they are bing held accountable for their behavior. Whether we like it or not, they are role models for many young people. It is a privilege to play professional sports. They make a ton of money playing a game and entertaining people. The league has a moral right to make sure these people they allow to take center stage are upholding a solid character. There is no excuse and no good reason for getting involved in shootings at strip clubs. These players are representatives of not just their teams, but the city they play in and the sport they play.

Do you think he's Hall of Fame worthy? His numbers clearly are, but it seems like he never realized his full potential. He was occassionally dominant but fell short too often. I guess it doesn't help that he was replaced by Tom Brady, who was a HoF shoe in after 3 seasons.

Geez, I was ready to send Rismiller his walking papers until he scored that goal.

Surprisingly, Fluery is the only reason it isn't 4-0.

Same here. I even pre-ordered it. The main page says April 16th, but it's pretty quiet there. I'm wondering if it will really come out. I never saw a gone gold notice.

2 had some of the coolest looking fishmen I've ever seen. Seriously, it was worth seeing just for the make-up and sfx.

Psh, we all know he faked his death to escape punishment.

I think I heard somewhere that the human eye can't register more than 35 frames per second.

Hmm, ok I'm willing to split the conferences and give Brodeur the best in the East and Luongo the best in the West, with Brodeur getting a nod overall due to all his shiny rings. But Brodeur also has always had a defensively responsible team in front, whereas the Canucks aren't even close to the Devils.

Yeah, that doesn't really work. Base camp is still a long way from the summit. You have to train and be in decent shape to summit any of the 8kers in the Himalayas. I've read a couple books on the subject, "Into Thin Air" and "No Shortcuts to the Top" are pretty much the best on the subject. Everest is actually not the hardest of the 8kers, it's just the tallest. But it's all about the weather up there, difficulty doesn't mean anything when a storm blows through. Sherpas are genetically different than the average joe. Their blood needs less oxygen. I just think that's awesome. As to what drives people to summit mountains, I don't think there is a good answer to that. It's like a spiritual calling. Personally, anytime I see something really tall, I want to find a way to climb it. It's just a compulsion. It usually feels great when I make it. I've been looking at climbing Mount Shasta, but I can't convince anyone to go with me.

I'm afraid to make predictions this year. But I'll do it anyway for the points. East: Sabres over NYI in 4. Not a real tough call. Third string goalie. Devils over Tampa in 5. Brodeur will have a GAA of .8. Rangers over Atlanta in 6. Lundqvist needs to be decent, but the Rangers are grittier. Penguins over Senators in 6. Senators have choked against worse teams. West: Calgary over Detroit in 6. Detroit may be the weakest team in the West. They lack depth. Hasek is old. Anaheim over Minnesota in 6. I don't see this team beating the Ducks. Vancouver over Dallas in 5. Turco has yet to show he can play in April. Vancouver has the best goalie in the league. San Jose over Nashville in 6. Of course I pick my home team, but I'm pretty scared. I want it in 6 because a game 7 scares the crud out of me.

My Civ 4 Pitboss game is intense, I just lost 6 knights trying to take Mecca away from Saladin. I'm sending in a troop of riflemen to hopefully finish it off. I'm also playing through the playoffs in NHL 07. My Sharks have a 32 series lead against the Blackhawks. I have no clue how they made the playoffs, but the Blues are in as well. I also went through my first real major dungeon in Vanguard. It was pretty hectic. I didn't die, but I crashed badly once and had a few slideshow moments. Still, it was pretty awesome watching 2 other groups battle and trying to avoid the trouble they got themselves into. Speas well for the no instance world.

I'll be honest, Civ 4 is plenty of game for me, I don't really see the need for an expansion. I've got a pitboss game going that I play a turn for every night, and I've never actually finished a single player campaign, although I did get a stalemate once.

That poor woman must have tremendous back problems.

Why did you play a game you hate for 40 hours? Did you get paid?

Actually I thought the graphics were pretty solid, particularly the reflections. But I agree with the rest being crap.

I'm really just not a fan of the real time combat for these types of games, even with the pausing system. I'd rather play TB, and games like Xcom, JA, and Silent Storm do that extremely well. I'm keeping an eye on UFO: Extraterrestrial as that's another xcom ripoff, but it sticks to the TB combat.

Yeah, I remember when Halo came out on the PC, it recieved a very lukewarm reception as well. Of course the key to Volologic is that personal opinions and preferences are wrong, so we better end this discussion before we are Volofied in a court of law.
