  1. Just a guess, but it could be a few things: 1. Maybe the controller is preferable to a mouse and keyboard for this user, and they don't want to buy a PC controller. 2. Maybe they have a nice HDTV that thier monitor doesn't compare to. 3. Maybe they find couch gaming more comfortable. 4. Maybe, after almost 2 years, the user feels the game is showing its age. Again, those are just guesses, but each individual has a unique experience with their games. If this person prefered the console experience, that is their opinion.
  2. I've been very happy with their two titles. KotOR 2 was a great play through for me, and I've enjoyed the NWN2 campaign much more than the original. I also see that the mod community is gaining steam as people get comfortable with the toolset. I'm not sure if either title breaks my top 10 list, but I don't need a game to be epic to entertain me.

    LOST

That was the best episode of the season for me. Who cares about moving the plot? If Edgar Allan Poe wrote a script and Alfred Hitch**** directed, that would be the episode we just got. It was super. As long as they don't try and bring those characters back, it's golden. Also, I don't see why we need spoilers in this thread. I purposely avoid it until I've watched the most recent episode, as should everyone.

    I'm quoting myself for geniusness
  5. Gah, had me going for a bit I was like "wow, Interplay is making a decision that is both financially sound and good for the gaming industry." But then I realized it's April 1st.
  6. Well, consider that Firefly's budget is way above both of those shows, and you have a decent idea of how likely a revival is. It's an expensive project. Family Guy is well produced, but I doubt it's anywhere near the production costs of a full motion video show, particularly one with special effects and exotic sets. I also doubt this project can get off the ground without Joss Whedon. I could actually see it going animated on the Cartoon Network, but I bet there are rights management issues.
  7. I don't remember any missions being longer than 20 minutes or so, but I never made it close to the end. I also use cheat codes when I get frustrated. Don't look at me that way!
  8. I'm really surprised how many folks seem pretty negative about GTA on this board. There is no better sandbox game on the market, in my opinion. I'm pretty excited, it looks very stunning. I've been playing Crackdown, which is an excellent GTA clone, but the real thing is always better. I've never finished a GTA. That's not really why I play. I usually advance the storyline just enough to get access to all the areas.
  9. I bought a plot of land on a nice island in Vanguard. Now I have a weekly mortgage, and I need to save up a ton to build a house. This is becoming too much like my life.

Are you comparing him to Christian Bale, or are you just confused?
  11. Wow. That's the first negative review I've heard. I enjoyed the whole beginning action scene so much that I went and rented District B13 just to see more.

    LOST

I wouldn't call that anagram obvious, but that is way cool!
  13. It's bad. The biggest issue is the absolutely horrid english translation. It really ended any immersion for me. It's also lacking much direction. Sure, the premise is interesting and the combat is reminscent of Fallout, but the game is extremely unclear, perhaps because I can barely understand the quests.

Isn't Tootoo a repeat offender? It does seem a bit odd...it was a fight that turned out badly. If they are going to allow fighting, it seems pretty random to suspend folks when someone gets hurt. I mean, they are punching each other. It's not going to end well every time. I'm not a fan of fighting. I just wish they weren't so dang popular. I'd love to see them take it out of the game, but I'm not sure if the NHL can handle losing the drunken idiot fanbase.
  15. I'm pretty sure that Starforce is dead.
  16. Yeah, it says something about that on the cover. I wonder if it's any good. Based on the fact I've heard nothing about it, I'm guessing not.
  17. What if the boards become massive and bloated due to Obsidian's success?
  18. I'm waiting for a game set in the Rifts universe. It would have to be pretty massive. Mech's and Gargoyles might be a good focus point.
  19. Why should WoW be off it? It's a PC game and it's hugely popular. It's actually hugely important to PC gaming at this time as well. With a new generation of consoles coming out, you always see a dip in the focus that game companies give to the PC. But WoW's financial boom makes the PC hard to ignore as a gaming platform. Sure, it means we get a flood of mediocre MMO's, but it also helps other genres for the PC. We need succesful PC franchises in order to convince publishers to take a chance on our market.
  20. I'm reading a series of books by Jim Butcher called "The Dresden Files". Pretty solid pulp fiction, it's basically detective novels where the detective is a badass wizard. I've been looking for a good casual reading and this looks like it. I'm on book 2, so I'll post if they slow up. I'm also reading "No Shortcuts to the Top" which is about an impressive American climber who summited all 13 8,000 meter mountains without oxygen. I think my wife hid it because I kept talking about climbing Mount Ranier.
  21. DnD loses it's charm after about 10 - 12 th level. Time to start a new campaign. Totally agreed. I way prefer low level adventures and mods for any D&D system. I also prefer way less magic. By the end of most D&D games, I'm drowning in magic crud. I understand having a magical weapon, but I don't need my toenail clippers to have a +5.
  22. I have a feeling most of us would pop up at whatever company JE Sawyer landed at. I'm not trying to be a kiss ass, but unless he totally changed gears, his games would still probably attract most of us.
  23. That's like saying "I haven't ever seen Heidi Klum, but she's ugly. I saw a picture of her husband Seal, so she's clearly a dog". Not that I dislike Seal or Apocalypse but seriously, they aren't in the same league.
  24. When you are talking about something as vague as a genre, the majority opinion is the definition. You can argue about the definition of an RPG all day, but it's an opinion. It's a fact that Diablo is classified as an action-RPG. Again, go ahead and disagree. I disagree that Guild Wars is an MMO, but the fact is it has been thrown into that genre.
  25. That may be your odd opinion, but the entire gaming press defines Diablo as the standard of the action-RPG genre. Hence every game like Titan Quest is immediately compared to it. In fact, I'm looking at my Titan Quest game and the slaes blurb actually says "exciting action-RPG" and has a quote comparig it to Diablo. Direct evidence! I'm like Matlock!
