  1. I played Deus Ex, beat it, and enjoyed the multiple endings. I have no desire to play it again. I've never beaten Morrowind, but I've started new games a dozen times. I think Crashgirl is pointing out the difference between quality and playability.
  2. I enjoyed Fable, and I agree the parody of a Heroes quest was good. It was reminiscent of Quest for Glory in that aspect, although it definitely fell short in other areas. Still, it was a brief but fun adventure with some interesting attempts at a unique gameplay. I'll pick up the sequel. I'm not quite sure why people hated it so much. Was it because of too high expectations? Or was it because it was too easy and too short? Neither really kept me from enjoying the game.
  3. Well, it's a best PC games list, so I'm guessing nada on a PS2 exclusive game listing.

    Hi there!

Just to catch you up, Volourn says r00fles in order to win arguments, Hades has 17 different accounts but the personality is always the same, and there are a few folks who hate MMO's and will state as such in EVERY SINGLE MMO THREAD. It's one big happy family
  5. The funny thing is, the guy who played Scarecrow in Batman Begins has a way wicked smile, and he would have fit the Joker perfectly.
  6. .... I've never heard of that game. Not surprising tho, I tend to ignore all games based on film industry hits. Or you might not know it because it's about 15 years old. It was a brilliant adventure game though, I'd put it on an even footing with Monkey Island. I still remember sneaking out my office window to avoid college students. There also isn't a Fate of Atlantis movie.

    NHL

    I hate Selanne.
  8. I watched "Grandma's Boy" a few months ago. It was about a professional video game tester. It was silly and not realitic in most parts, but I was surprised how many things it got right about the gaming industry, at least from what I've heard.
  9. I picked up the original Jagged Alliance on a lark. Best decision ever.
  10. That's usually only fun for people who are good at it. For schmoes like me, it's embarrassing.

    LOST

I say Dharma is reorganized and coming to reclaim the Island. And Naomi is one of them. I'm pretty sure the blonde in the Looking Glass will turn out to be Ben's childhood girlfriend. Why else would they give her a close up?
  12. I know two things: I will love the cut scenes. I will hate the gameplay. But then again, I'm just not a fan of RTS's.
  13. Yeah, I enjoyed the movies and was always a bit surprised by all the trash talk concerning Chronicles. I can see why the mainstream media didn't dig the whole necro theme, but I was surprised how the geek community seemed to reject it. It was kinda Warhammer 40K-esque. I never played Butcher's Bay, so I just might pick this up.
  14. Lloyd Alexander just passed away. He was an incredibly influential writer for me as a child, and I was pretty sad to hear the news. Still, it sounds like he lived a pretty fruitful life well into his 80's. Anyone else read his books? The Black Cauldron was also one of my first real experiences with computer games. I remember just being blown away by it. It seems like we've lost a few really good authors lately. I had a news link, but something happened to the last topic I tried to create.
  15. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070518/ap_on_.../obit_alexander This was pretty sad, as he was easily the most influential author during my childhood. It seems like we've lost a lot of great authors recently.
  16. I don't know much about British law enforcement, but in the US, this would be an easy lawsuit win. But then again, they never would have gotten a warrant to break into the guys place in the first place.
  17. Koreans love MMO's, so a Starcraft MMO is also a possibility.
  18. I don't think he's saying it's a bad thing Richard Garriot is the media face, he's just saying it doesn't guarantee the rebirth of the Ultima series. Tabula Rasa looked terrible a few years ago, basically like a sci fi version of Lineage 2. They scrapped that though, but I still don't see this having a good shot at revolutionizing MMO's. I'll believe it when I see it.
  19. Of course it's difficult to not see Warren Spector at the helm of the next DX, but I'll keep an eye out and hope for the best. I was disappointed at IW's lack of consequences to your actions, but I didn't have any real issues with the gameplay. Also, did IW sell well? Because, as Aram put it "the last one was balls" isn't a real concern unless it was a financial disaster.
  20. Psh, you clearly haxxor Seriously, I'm now going to avoid playing you to prevent further embarrassment.
  21. I will hunt you. Oddly enough, that's exactly what alanschu said, right before he stepped on my claymore. He's still my number 1 victim http://bf2s.com/player/43374929/ http://battlefield.ea.com/battlefield/bf21...=&Profiles= My sniper kills > Your sniper kills http://battlefield.ea.com/battlefield/bf21...2&Profiles= RAWR! I'm not quite sure how your 90 confirmed kills with a sniper rifle in BF2142 trumps my 257 confirmed kills with a sniper rifle in BF2. Please enlighten me.
  22. Actually, if you have a boutique build it for you, it's really still custom built. Store bought, for the purposes of the poll, seems to refer to the mass produced models that sell at major electronic stores.
  23. I'm the same way. It's usually a full day going out and buying the parts, reading the motherboard configuration manual, and getting the OS installed. Still, it's a bit like riding a bike. It takes awhile for me to shake the techno cobwebs out, but after awhile, all the pins start to line up right. I bought a store bought model once, and it was a disaster. It got too hot when I put a new video card in it, and it lasted only about 2 years as a decent machine, whereas my custom models usually go for about 5 with some tweaking.
