  1. Campbell not wowing in Chi-Town As a Sharks fan, I don't have anything against Campbell for leaving. The Sharks picked up a better replacement in Boyle. But I do think he made a boneheaded decision. The Sharks were offering him a chance to play for a contender, make good money, and probably put up huge points considering his supporting cast. Instead he goes to Chicago and will probably struggle for at least 3 seasons as that team grows. Sure, the money is good, but I wouldn't make that same decision.
  2. I'm usually pretty willing to side with government on this stuff, but suspension of Habeus Corpus always freaks me out a bit.
  3. Where did you read that? I saw he was sitting next to Jagr on the bench, but I didn't hear that he got an elbow in.
  4. Hey guys, Wall Street was just kidding. We are good now.
  5. Yeah, my normal guild never took to LotR Online, but I found it delightful. They stuck with WoW and now they've migrated to WAR. But I'm also a longtime Turbine fan and I think I just know what to expect from their games. Plus, I want a house dagnabit.
  6. I'm on book 8 in LotR Online. It takes place in an area called Carn Dum. Much like Mordor, you don't simply walk into Carn Dum. It's a super scary place. We took a shortcut through a spider infested cave, which was as terrible as it sounds. I hate spiders. Then we fought past a few troll looking things and now we are in a semi-safe area, hopefully able to finish the quest later. I'm pretty excited, book 8 is the last book of the first stage of the game. There have been 6 other books released since the game came out, but I'm excited to finish this first stage. I'm also closing in on level 49, which is the closest I've ever gotten to a level cap in an MMO. Of course, in a month the level cap will go up to 60, so there ya go
  7. Was it bad? I figured it's a rental...is it even worth that?
  8. Are we talking about the Rambo movie that came out like last year? I was actually pleasantly surprised by that one. Just like the most recent Rocky, I felt like he kept it fairly honest with being an old guy. Forgetting Sarah Marshall - Pretty funny. That guy really didn't shy away from the full frontal shots. I hope RocknRolla gets Ritchie back to his good stuff. It seems like it's been awhile for him.
  9. Actually the Sierra VGA remakes were an ideal situation. Same developer, same people involved, just updated graphics and user interface.
  10. I was surprised to hear the LA Kings fans booing Rob Blake last night. The Kings didn't offer him a contract, so why would you boo a guy who played 13 seasons and was an impressive force throughout his career? I guess they booed him when he went to Colorado, but he was traded that time, if I recall correctly. I just don't get it. I'm up for booing players that jet during free agency without giving the home team a chance to sign him. I don't blame the player, but that should be expected. I just don't get it when it was clearly a management decision.
  11. You really are missing out if you don't get to use the skill stick, which I don't think the PC has.
  12. Eventually we will reach a point where technological advances in games won't move so quickly, and a ten year old game versus a new game won't look like comparing a slideshow to a major motion picture. Until then, many older games will unfortunately fade with time. My hope is that we will get real solid remakes of classics that manage to nail the gameplay and atmosphere while giving modern graphics. I'm still waiting for Xcom.
  13. MMO's are probably the most expensive and difficult games to develop in the games market today. They require a lot of resources on the front end, and they require continued resources during release. Their average development times exceeds any other genre, and they require way more testing than other titles. I'm not sure why Interplay would choose that as their primary project. They should try and at least get out from the rock they've been living under with a modestly succesful cell phone game or something.
  14. Hahaha. Hello, Mr. Hades? Oh man. Just wait until Interplay announce their FO MMO. That's going to be EPIC nerdrage! Go go fake Fallout! I really doubt the FO MMO will ever see the light of day, at least not with Interplay developing it.
  15. Those screens have raised my excitement level over the game. I was going to wait until Christmas to pick it up, but I might not be able to wait.
  16. Yeah, I gave up on Fringe. Have I mentioned Big Bang Theory people?
  17. Just hope he doesn't disappoint as Cobra Commander. I didn't realize he was doing that. I can see it, he has the look. I'm not sure what their plan is with the voice though.
  18. Wow, relax. These are video games.
  19. I believe it will recognize the change and make you use a new authorization, if not then people could simply copy files from PC-to-PC and play the game that way. I don't think I've ever heard of software doing this. I mean, I can add ram, change a video card, ad do quite a few other things and even my OS will not skip a beat. That would be a serious issue, but I'd like to see more documentated cases of this actually happening.
  20. Even if you change something on the computer, if you don't uninstall it, does it use an authorization?
  21. Stanley Cup hangover, happens to the best of them. I still think they'll have no trouble winning their division, but maybe someone else has a chance at the President's Cup this year. I think Bernier will really mesh well with the Sedin's, and with Luongo the Canucks always have a shot at winning. I don't know much about their depth and blue line though.
  22. I don't think I've ever watched a video of a game I wasn't interested in. That must be tough.
  23. My issues with Oblivion had nothing to do with the way it looked, so I'm not sure why it would be a problem if Fallout 3 looked like Oblivion. But I don't see much of a comparison graphic wise, sure you can tell the engine is similar, but it's not Oblivion 2.
  24. I'll be honest, I'm very disappointed in the direction this game has gone. When I heard they hired a write from Playmakers, I thought they might actually create a game where the players have personalities, and you would actually need to manage them to get the full potential. I thought a story based football game could be great. But they seem completely focused on making it as violent as possible, and seem way too focused on drugs and sex to make this a good game.
