  1. Hey guys, Why don't we just revive the GTA4 thread, edit <GTA4> with <Fable 2> and call it a day? edit: Damn you pixies. Damn you.
  2. Are LAN's really that big anymore? I figured with wireless networks and wifi, it's a very small group.
  3. I really just don't bother looking at scores anymore. I read the articles for information on the gameplay and I make my own decision on how fitting the game will be for me. Sure, if a game is getting less than 50%, it's pretty obvious it will stink, but I don't really need a score to tell me that Pizza Tycoon 17 is not going to entertain me. Fable 2 looks solid. If you enjoyed the first one, it seems very likely you will enjoy the second. The review is great for telling us if it is a buggy mess, or if the gameplay is borked, but it's not going to capture your personal likes and interests perfectly.
  4. Maybe by 10/10 they mean it's not perfect, but it's the best at what it does.
  5. KotOR Online is totally going to ruin all those mediocre Star Wars novels! I'm playing a ton of LotR Online. I'm on the 10th book of the main storyline, and it's really getting good. I've also been dabbling in the Fable Pub games while I wait for Fable 2 to come out. They are ok, I'm at level 2.
  6. The Hunting Party - Solid adventure flick. The best part was listening to the interview at the end about what really happened. It's based on a group of journalists that unwittingly end up very close to a wanted war criminal in Bosnia.
  7. Yep. I've read a couple article on this already, and maybe I'm just not getting what this game is about, but I still have no clue what the context is. Also, these generalizations about the "Muslim community" make my head hurt.
  8. HOW exactly do you not like Diablo? You mean that game where you repeatedly click hordes of monsters until they die? My answer would be pretty easily. I don't think Diablo 2 has aged all that well, either. The game looks piss poor.
  9. This is why I cancelled my account after a month. They don't even have a tech support forum. That's ridiculous. The game was good, but I was having some serious crashing issues and there was just no support for it.
  10. I'm a professional hockey star and one of the most prolific right-wingers in NHL history, according to my avatar.
  11. No, splitscreen is a major deciding factor for me. As in, if I can avoid it, I will. What's the advantage of playing on half a screen, again? Playing on half a screen means that you have someone sitting beside you playing on the other half. It's the whole human interaction thing. Actually I'm a bit confused why they don't offer that on the PC as well? I mean, you can plug in two controllers. Although most monitors probably aren't very conducive to a split screen.
  12. I heard the Wii version of NHL 09 isn't all that solid, so we can forgive Deraldin for his transgression.
  13. I think they are referring more to the fact that we already have an active Xbox Live group going, whereas the Steam group is not active (or at least I never here about epic times over Steam.) Xbox live is easy to use, easy to get your headset working, and easy to group up with people on the forums. I'm not saying Steam doesn't have the same capabilities, but many are already committed to XBL. Plus, every 360 runs the same, which makes any tech issues less common.
  14. The chances of Fallout 3 failing in sales are pretty slim. At the least, it will sell as well as Oblivion.
  15. You die in PvP and you can be looted? Ive died 5-6 times before in a BG, they would have me stripped to my skivvies by the time I got out. You don't lose gear in WAR PvP. But there is random loot that drops with player corpses.
  16. My console RRoD after about 2 years of play. I can see getting worked up if it was burning up in the first month, but if that happens, the store usually takes it back, so they've covered that angle. 6 weeks (which is probably the upper limit) really isn't a very long time to wait for a repair or replacement console. It's just a game machine, it's not like it's a car that I dropped major bucks on (and cars go into the shop plenty.)
  17. mmmm. System Shock 3. By Bethesda?
  18. Somebody needs to go see Max Payne here. I nominate alanschu. Take one for the team.
  19. I'll be honest GD, that analogy did nothing for me.
  20. NHL

Ducks are 0-4. I know it's early, but does anything think they will struggle to make the playoffs this year? It's hard to imagine given their blue line, but boy they haven't looked very good at all so far. They aren't in an easy division, either.
  21. I would smack anyone who wanted to join that. Like pretty much everyone, I've had RRoD once, and Microsoft replaced it in a very timely manner (about 6 weeks.) You can't really expect much better customer service there. Sure, it would be nice if the systems didn't have the failures, but they did and Microsoft took full responsibility for it.
  22. WAR is definitely a PvP game, but I think it might be awesome enough for you to like it. Also, RP servers have no general chat, which is the best thing ever. Instead you can designate your group as open if you need players, and when someone enters your area they have th eoption to join you easily.
  23. I watched Apaloosa the other day. It's a western, and in terms of westerns it's a solid one. Voggo Mortenson and Ed Harris are hard not t enjoy. The movie is marred a bit by Rene Zellwegger, but her role in the movie warrants someone unlike-able, and so in the respect she was cast correctly.
  24. Most people here are part of the .2% of gamers.
  25. I was on my own in LotR until about level 35. I had some friends start the game with me, but they dropped off in the first month. Then I had a lonely kinship where I was the only guy active for close to a year. That worked for me because I played the game off and on. I slowly made it to my 30's doing lots of solo quests, playing alts, and very rarely grouping. I think I went 6 months without being in a group. Then, in my mid 30's, I met someone I liked and joined their kin. It was active, and the last few months have been moving very quickly, and I've started to learn hoe to play in a group well. My class, Captain, has a lot of great buffs and a few small heals, but is still very active in the attack. But I did enjoy playing the game as a solo experience. I never felt bogged down, and the world was interesting enough to keep me engaged. There are also quite a few different areas to travel and level up around. edit: It helped that the game is only $10 a month, compared to the $15 of other games. I found that a bit easier to stomach.
