  1. They make you pay to watch hockey games? Wow, in the US, they are a step away from paying people to watch.
  2. Clear Sky or SoC? Just the standard SoC. Gametap is only $10 a month, so I imagine Clear Sky is still a bit too new to be given away on their service.
  3. I believe you can turn bloom off.
  4. I just found out STALKER is coming to Gametap next month. I'm pretty excited about that, I always meant to pick it up, and now I don't have to.
  5. Best Buy credit card for teh win. Sorry pixies. It's worth it.
  6. I also don't think the Elder Scrolls comparison is wrong. The game plays like a Bethesda title. If you absolutely hate the ES games, this won't win you over. However it does seem to be the best of their titles to date. Morrowind and Oblivion were enjoyable to me, but I definitely recognized they had major faults. Fallout 3 fixes many of those faults, and that is something I recognized in just a couple hours. The dialogue and characterization is better, the world has a unique atmosphere and doesn't seem repetitive (yet) and the VATS is actually pretty entertaining. So if you were a Fallout fan but hated Bethesda style RPG's, you are probably going to be unhappy. However if you are fans of both, then this game is a must-by.
  7. Have you finished it already? Nah, but I never finished the second one, and I'm still comfortable throwing out my two cents on it. . . . . . . I'm really not being completely serious here, I'm just trying to balance out all the ridiculous negativity with some ridiculous positivity. It's a very good game so far, it definitely has captured the atmosphere of the Fallout universe, and Bethesda clearly put a lot of care into it. I honestly don't think you can compare the first two with this one, I think it's silly to try. They are from different era's. Fallout 3 is a fantastic modern game, and anyone who complains about it not being a true Fallout game is only robbing themselves of a chance to enjoy it for what it is.
  8. Fallout 3 is definitely better than the originals. I'm not saying the originals aren't great, but they pale in comparison. It's like comparing the first two Batman movies with the more recent ones. Sure, Michael Keaton was excellent, but Christian Bale has modernized the franchise. Anyone who disagrees is a bitter old dinosaur. The game is a work of art and deserves 11 out of 10.
  9. Hildegard makes very good sense.
  10. Wouldn't that be the Big Bang Theory?
  11. I broke down and bought it, mostly because I needed a new lunchbox. This game is great so far. I just left the vault. It's better than the originals by a mile.
  12. Did you buy it? I've actually heard very solid reviews from everybody, calling it a silly version of GTA that is just charming.
  13. Damn you people. I really need to wait to buy this game. Please stop talking about it.
  14. Spies Like Us rules! No way that should be on the stinker list.
  15. Saddam was pretty much a total prick. He was uncooperative and he liked to egg the US on. I'm not saying that's a justification for invasion, I'm just saying Saddam did absolutely nothing to keep it from happening. It seemed like he thought the US was bluffing when they threatened invasion, because he really did everything he could to be an a-hole to the US.
  16. The internet has definitely diluted the media, and there really are too many gaming mags, and they tend to cater to the lowest common denominator.
  17. If you own and rent out property, then yes you are making money even with the game off. I logged in after two days and have a nice 20k savings built up.
  18. Wow, quite a few anti-Islamic sentiments flying around in here.
  19. I'm really enjoying Fable, in fact I've spent a lot more time doing side stuff in this one than I did in the original. I ate and drank myself to obesity just to get a demon door open, and now I'm purging my body of all the toxins. Good stuff. I also moved my family into a bigger house, and I've bought most of the real estate in Oakfield.
  20. Too easy, Jagged Alliance 2 is the obvious choice here.
  21. I got my wife hooked on WoW, but she can't run LotR Online on her laptop so I haven't even tried to get her to switch. She's been playing Spore and the Wiifit more recently though. Good times
  22. Piracy has not been mentioned once in the thread. Therefore, for some reason that defies logical explination, I'm going to mention piracy in the hopes that piracy is not mentioned. That is because Gorth pruned out all the posts on piracy earlier. I'm not actually getting Fallout 3 until Christmas. I just have too many games coming out. But I'm excited to sit down and play it over the holiday break.
  23. I wonder how they would handle Coruscant? It's a massive city, they really could have an entire game based on just part of that planet. I suppose they would have some sort of reasons to keep players out of certain areas. It will be interesting to see how they handle it, for sure.
  24. I'm not sure how long the game has been in development, but I really hope they don't put a bunch of generic planets out in an attempt to make the world seem big. Turbine released LotR Online with very little of the map filled in, and at first I was upset areas like Gondor and Rohan weren't included, but they polished the released areas extremely well. Hopefully Bioware will release a just a few very well developed planets (maybe 5?). SWG planets were pretty generic.
