  1. Fletch was superb Chevy Chase. But yeah, he's had more stinkers than successes over the years. It turns out he doesn't really have a very good sense of humor, at lest from the interviews I've seen
  2. I would think any mediocre lawyer could get that woman off easily. They guy gave her the login information, it's not like she stole it or hacked it.
  3. It's easy, at least so far. Which I'm very happy about, because there is nothing worse than getting whooped on to ruin the flow of the adventure. But I can see where they probably shoud have a couple difficulty levels available, so the sadists (or is it masochists?) can get more enjoyment out of it. I opened two demon doors, which I think is one more than I managd in the original. I can't seem to locate the bookseller.
  4. There is a very active schism here. The interpretations of Shari'ah (Islamic law) are more of the central issue here. But yeah, Islam is currently going through a full blown reformation, much like Christianity did in the late Middle Ages.
  5. This is a very odd post. First off, AoC sold very well, above their expectations. It moved over a million copies. The issue they've had is keeping subscribers. They are losing them very quickly. That can be blamed on bugs and light post-20 content. But a million people bought the game, so I don't think the system requirements were much of a deterent. Secondly, EA is just a publisher. I can't imagine not going to see a movie because of the distributor or not reading a book because of the publisher or not buying a CD because of the label. Buy stuff because the people who make the game, or direct the movie, or write the book. If it is a DDRM issue, an MMO doesn't deal with DRM at all. You have to log into an account to play it, you have to be online at all times. That's it, no CD checks, no limited installs. Most MMO's actually make the client available online for download by anyone. Lastly, this game is still 3-4 years away from release. We have no clue what type of PC it will run on, and we really don't even know how the final graphics will turn out. MMO's take a long time to develop.
  6. I'm enjoyed Fable 2. I haven't played much, but the art direction is simply top notch. It's basically a Charles Dickens novel brought to life.
  7. Oblivion with lightsabers.
  8. What? Not every government is elected either. And really, you are giving the MMO developers your support by simply subscribing to the game. Heck, I don't remember ever having a choice about paying taxes. I'm sure we can go on and on about the diffrences and similiarities of a virual and real world. I don't actually care, really, I was just playing a bit of devil's advocate for Gorgon's post. I think it's silly to get attached to virtual property and even sillier to have laws about it. But there is a real world economy at work in these virtual worlds. People pay real money for fake property, so it's not surprising to see real laws being enforced. I'd much rather people use common sense and figure out that paying for virtual merchandise is silly and really defeats the purpose of playing the game in the first place. If you don't think the game is rewarding enough based on your own gameplay ability, then don't play it.
  9. Technically most governments can take away property as well, so how can you own anything in reality?
  10. I'm a bit bummed you can't take your avatar into a buddies world. But I picked it up today and should get started on it tonight or tomorrow.
  11. Type in "Colin Powell My Lai" and you will get quite a few different stories all about his terrible investigation. Maybe he was just a really bad investigator, but he's never struck me as a dumb guy. It seems pretty clear he covered it up, and it was only because another witness came forward years later that we have any record of the horrific massacre. http://www.thenation.com/doc/20010514/corn20010502 That is probably the least inflammatory of the articles I read, but it still makes it clear Powell has some skeletons in his closet. I don't necessarily have an issue with Powell, I just find it baffling where his reputation of integrity comes from.

  13. Two months before CoD6, and four months before CoD7.
  14. Hey guys, Colin Powell tried to cover up the massacre of My Lai during Vietnam.
  15. Did they boo Avery? I'm not sure why, he was offered a great contract by Dallas, and I doubt the Rangers were looking to match it. Who did the Rangers give up for him last year? He also gave them a huge boost last year. It's not like they trade for him and he came in and stunk the place up.
  16. Yesiree. Whose alt are you again?
  17. That was pretty much my experience. Exploring the world was fantastic, but nothing about the later levels appealed to me. I'm not a big fan of the grind of MMO's, and WoW was great at masking it until about level 45. I've heard they sped levelling up after the first expansion, so maybe it's less of a grind now. But the gear grind still sounds pretty crazy.
  18. I now picture Hades in a cramped room with a PC and a 360, and all these self-published reviews pinned up on the walls. Is there a reason you came up with 9.2 for ME? Are you positive it isn't 9.1 or 9.3? Wait, it could be 9.19. You should round to the nearest hundredth.
  19. Well, if he didn't like the first one, then I don't know why he'd bother with the second one. It's not very surprising that there is a sequel coming up. It sold extremely well. I'm not sure if I'll get it, I liked the first one but didn't feel compelled to finish it. The atmosphere was amazing, but FPS mechanics are just not my thing.
  20. The first two make it sound like you are complaining about having a lousy PC, the third is just odd, and the fourth is pretty much a matter of opinion. I'm not sure that killing some boss in Diablo is really that much different than killing some boss in any MMO.
  21. I heard an interesting bit on the radio today, taken from the Howard Stern show. They were interviewing people that said the were voting for Obama, but they were asking questions like: "So you are ok with Obama's Pro life agenda?" "It's ok with you that Obama want's to keep the troops in Iraq indefinitely?" "Are you glad that Obama chose Palin as his running mate?" It was really sad, because the people being interviewed really didn't get it. They just kept saying the support Obama's decisions and they agree with him. But honestly, uneducated blindly supportive folks are on both sides.
  22. Hey guys, Why don't we just revive the GTA4 thread, edit <GTA4> with <Fable 2> and call it a day? edit: Damn you pixies. Damn you.
  23. Are LAN's really that big anymore? I figured with wireless networks and wifi, it's a very small group.
  24. I really just don't bother looking at scores anymore. I read the articles for information on the gameplay and I make my own decision on how fitting the game will be for me. Sure, if a game is getting less than 50%, it's pretty obvious it will stink, but I don't really need a score to tell me that Pizza Tycoon 17 is not going to entertain me. Fable 2 looks solid. If you enjoyed the first one, it seems very likely you will enjoy the second. The review is great for telling us if it is a buggy mess, or if the gameplay is borked, but it's not going to capture your personal likes and interests perfectly.
  25. Maybe by 10/10 they mean it's not perfect, but it's the best at what it does.
