  1. I agree, although I think they should develop an ES game before every Fallout game. That way they can make a ton of huge mistakes in the ES game and correct them for the Fallout game.
  2. McCain and Obama are remarkably similar in their policies. I'm not sure if you will really know the difference. My vote is based on the VP candidates this year. The insurance company of the lady who hit my car finally accepted full liability. It's been two months of headaches.
  3. Why does Obsidian have a spotty track record? They've released three successful titles. They might not have been huge blockbusters, but I doubt they failed to meet expected sales numbers.
  4. Isn't that what King's Bounty is supposed to be? King's Bounty and HoMM are a bit different than Fallout: Tactics, Jagged Alliance, or Xcom. Not that they aren't great, but I would call them strategy games, whereas my examples are squad based tactical games.
  5. I didn't realize you had Fallout 3? I'd love to hear your opinions of it.
  6. I do think that the SPECIAL system could be licensed for some sort of non-Fallout program, and it would be awesome to see it used again in a TB isometric game. But to be honest, I'm dying for any squad based game like this. Sure Civ is still a hot property, but that's a very different game. It's pretty bleak for a JA3 or a new Fallout: Tactics. But everything comes back in time. Adventure games found a way to revive themselves a bit recently, so maybe isometric TB games are next.
  7. Legally, you can get the free cup whether you vote or not.
  8. Yes, I am a fan of turn based games, but what I'm saying here is I don't see the business sense in this. I understand Obsidian might be willing to take on the project, but Bethesda has absolutely no reason to comply. Fallout 3 has found new success under the Bethesda format. I don't see them risking that success by allowing a hardcore niche product to come out with the Fallout name. Down the road, maybe the franchise will stagnate a bit and there won't be as much of a risk in outsourcing their major IP, but right now Beth will probably be playing this one close to their chest.
  9. Exactly. Something like...Van Buren? I don't know why you need Fallout to go isometric and turn-based. My favorite game ever is Jagged Alliance 2, an isometric turn-based game. The strength of that game lies in the tactical TB combat. I would love to see a rebirth of that genre and gameplay style. However, Fallout 3 is a fantastic success. It has captured the setting perfectly and it has extended the Fallout series. It has modernized and revitalized an IP that was pretty much dead. They aren't going to go backwards from here and try to put Fallout back into an isometric game. Isometric TB games don't have the audience. Does Betheda actually have the full Fallout IP? I know Interplay owns some sort of Fallout MMO IP. Does Bethesda need to license the IP again to make Fallout 4?
  10. What do you mean more in the vein of F1/F2? Do you mean graphically inferior?

That's terrible to hear. Hopefully there won't be any complications with his return.
  12. Why don't you show me these studies? You're the ones making a claim. I'm not doing your research for you. Actually I'm not the one who pointed it out initially. I just seconded the other person. I already sat through and completed the college class on sociology that covered this, I don't see any reason to go back over it. You asked for evidence, so go get it. You aren't paying me to teach you.
  13. Morgoth, how many euros does a ticket for the train to Bittertown cost in this current economy?
  14. Who is Hal Halpin? You can read about it on that website I linked, but he's the founder and president of the ECA. He's also probably the most active advocate for gamers. He's done numerous interviews on news stations and the like. He's pretty well spoken, although he's definitely an odd looking guy.
  15. http://www.theeca.com/ There ya go, our consumer group. Hal Halpin is active in it, I believe.
  16. Evidence? Evidence? There are quite a few studies out there that back this up, go do some research if you don't believe him. As for the earlier points about the fact that gay marriage was voted down a few years ago, government has a job to protect the minority against the tyranny of the masses. That is the reason we have a Supreme Court and a judicial system. They didn't vote on desegregating schools in the 50's. It would have lost.
  17. Polygamy is marrying more than one person. I really have no clue how that can be compared to gay marriage. It's just avoiding the issue by introducing a completely different issue that really isn't related.
  18. Hey Crashgirl, didn't you enjoy playing Oblivion with all the major mods? I could be thinking of someone else.
  19. All I'm interested in is the Prop 8 in California vote. It will be interesting to see if the discrimination and fear mongering wins out among the voters. I think anyone who votes yes on illegalizing gay marriage should be forced to explain to a currently married couple why they don't deserve the same rights as themselves.
  20. Great costume taks, and I think now that your son is older, his head/body ratio has evened out.
  21. With Moira
  22. Lettuce - It makes me gag just to think about it. I wake up yelling at giant spiders and trying to smash them quite often, but I'm not afraid of them in an awake state. I hate them in video games though.
  23. Llyr, you have way too much time on your hands.
  24. Well...all that trouble to find Dad and he kills himself. Bugger. Tranquility was awesome. Fantastic gaming moment. I made Timmy cry and broke up a marraige, but when he asked me to kill the old lady I decided to put an end to his games via the chinese military.
  25. Well, I can see your concern. I think the fact that my daughter is a girl will help counter that. :D
