  1. But...you are full of hatred for ME and making attacks on it. Isn't that the point of all your posts? You think it's a horrible game, we get it.
  2. Observations are different than accusations.
  3. I've never actually read any of Gromnir's posts.
  4. See Meshugger, you gave a solid, reasonable answer as to why you liked one over the other. I might not agree with it, but I can see where you are coming from. I can't make any sense whatsoever of Wrath of Dagon's criticism. It's too nitpicky, I suppose.
  5. If you think parrotting that endlessly makes you look intelligent, you're very much mistaken. What are you, 12 or so? I think you're completely missing the point. How dare you accuse Llyr of having a point?!? Blasphemere! Wrath of Dagon, do you understand where all your problems with ME are simply opinions, and therefore very subjective? Saying Wrex is boring isn't helping your crusade, because you aren't getting a lot of people agreeing with you. Those who do, would probably say Canderous is boring as well.
  6. The difference between Carth and Kaiden is Carth was forced on you for quite a bit of the game, and Kaiden was killable. Point set match to ME.
  7. Actually, I don't see any of these games as deserving of multiple play-throughs. They have pretty linear stories, and whether you choose good or bad or in between, it seems like the most boring thing in the world to go through all those same fight scenes again. I love playing them once, and then trading them in for something else. They aren't sandbox games and I never regret getting rid of them.
  8. There were a lot of flashbacks in the original. Also, they might be showing how he managed to survive so long. You do become one of them, but he seemed like he was pretty brutally torn apart by a grenade. I can't remember exactly, was covering my eyes and screaming like a girl.
  9. I have a good question. Does anyone agree with Wrath of Dagon about KotOR being great and ME being trash? It just seems like everyone on this board except for him is either a fan of both games, or disliked both games. I just haven't seen many other split on it.
  10. Han**** was a good movie, but the inner geek wanted me to expand on the setting. They went for a fun action-adventure when it had the trappings of a new Superman. But I can see why they wanted to avoid making it too serious of a flick.
  11. I don't really need to give reasons for my statements, I'm not picking the game apart. I enjoyed KotOR, JE, and ME. They all told an interesting story and had interesting characters. Sure, there were gameplay difference. It make sense to me that some people like one in that regard and dislike another. But seriously, the story telling in these games is all fairly similar, the characters are almost carbon copies of one another. All that is changed is the setting. So if you disliked the setting or the gameplay, I'd totally understand. But your crusade against the story doesn't wash with your love of KotOR.
  12. I'd be happy to see Arizona win, but I wouldn't mind Philly getting its due either. They've been close, and Andy Reid might not have another season in him. Seriously, he's a big guy, I'm not sure how his heart can take another year of football.
  13. I just have a hard time taking Wrath of Dagon's posts very seriously. It just seems like all the flaws you are pointing out existed on some level in KotOR, a game you seem to put on a pedestal.
  14. I hope we see an NFC Superbowl champ, I like to see new teams win and both AFC teams aren't far removed from their championship.
  15. I agree with the mobility along the wall. However, that picture you posted is a good example of how difficult it would be for an army to get over those mountains. Sure, a small force of men would scale those hills easily enough, but they'd also get over the wall easily as well. But armies have supply carts and lots of other rubbish that needs to be hauled along. Strategically it would only be necessary to build walls near the mountain passes. Any army that tried to march through those hills would be very vulnerable.
  16. I looked up choked on dictionary.com, and right at the bottom is "to become too tense or nervous to perform well: Our team began to choke up in the last inning. " I also noticed that many words have more than one definition, such as mysticism. So maybe we can stop arguing about vocabulary and go back to discussing football. edit: Mystical can mean obscure in meaning; mysterious.
  17. I don't think WotC would care one way or the other. There aren't any other D&D PC games coming down the pipeline for it to compete with.
  18. There is quite a bit of mystery, or mysticism, in the NFL playoffs. Otherwise the team with the best record would win the Superbowl every year. Talent has a lot to do with getting deep in the postseason, but the most talented team doesn't always win. But Volourn's world is made up of absolutes, so there ya go.
  19. It's a good thing Eli Manning didn't choke, or things could have gotten real ugly in the Giants game. Steve Smith had one of the funniest moments I've seen this season. I can't believe they penalized McNabb for picking up the phone, that was hilarious. Cards-Eagles should be fun to watch!
  20. Death Race - Cheesy, but I like watching Jason Statham drive. It was average, but could have been much worse. Bangkok Dangerous - Another average film. The original ending was horrible, but I watched the alternate ending and thought it was a lot better. Sure, it was the more happy hollywood ending, but if I'm going to watch a mediocre movie, I deserve something positive in the end.
  21. After watching Arizona win the last two games, I am a firm believer in the mysticism of the playoffs.

    NHL

Do you see where this is a contradiction? You can't have it both ways. Half the guys in the league are going to be meeting their expectations if they score 10-15 goals. Now if you want to make an argument about money, I can agree that he shouldn't be making what he was a few years ago. Just like Roenick, his contract should be around 1 million a year. But the Devils haven't firmed up a contract yet, so we can argue about that bridge when we get there.
  23. Given the fact that he linked to the RockPaperShotgun article on his blog I don't see why it can't be him. Ok, I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. Thanks for the blog link.

Shanahan has 131 points in 177 playoff games, which seems pretty respectable to me. Volourn, I thought you said choking was a myth in the NHL thread? If he scores 10-15 goals in half an NHL season, I'd consider that a pretty solid contribution. Heck, for a 40-year old guy, I'd consider that decent for a full season.
  25. I'm curios to hear what Volourn's definition fo choking is? I've always considered choking = playing poorly in a major game.
