For every quest I do in game, I have real world ones that need finishing too, like changing diapers, rescuing kids trapped under furniture, and preparing meals. So while I may be logged in for an hour or two a day, I really only am able to give it a fraction of my attention. So yeah, if I finish a quest a day, I'm feeling pretty good To be honest this is the fastest I've ever leveled in an MMO. But I think that has more to do with TOR having a very fast curve compared to most MMO's on initial release.

I'm just not a fan of the style. As Morgie said, it looks like a Korean MMO.

I've still got at least a month or two, I hit 37 today but my pace has slowed considerably. Of course I really don't want to hit it too soon either.

The graphics are serviceable, it just isn't stylized enough for my tastes. As I said, they seem rather generic with a strong dose of bloom. Unfortunately the story also seems rather generic. I played the original a fair amount, and I never found the storyline particularly engaging. I noticed they went with a bit of a steampunk vibe this time around, but again it still seems rather...generic. That's really the only way I can describe it, I guess.

It can depend a lot on the server, you tend to have a dedicated PvP core and if they are a decent sort, it helps all around.

I agree with Morgoth, GW2 looks weak, and also very generic. I didn't get into the original story, I doubt this one will be better. Also that was one of Morgoth's tamer criticisms, I'm surprised Oner got so mad about it.

I can't believe you guys are still overthinking this stuff. It's just a game, yo.

Civ 5 brought a lot of great stuff to the table, so I doubt it alienated all that many fans. Is every Civ supposed to be the same? I'll admit I still prefer 4 more, but 5 was still a great game. The expansion might put it ahead of 4 if they pull it off well.

The Adjustment Bureau - Pretty good action/conspiracy movie, Matt Damon and the girl had good chemistry.

My Father-in-law has stabilized, but he is going to be in the hospital for awhile, and will need to go into a care center for awhile afterwards. Basically he needs to lose weight and get his heart and kidneys back in shape. After that he is unlikely to work again, which is fine, he is 61 and has spent his life working 6 days a week, so it's time to focus on himself. He got moved out of ICU today, so I will take the kids to visit him tomorrow. My wife and I have a bunch of stuff to figure out. First thing is to get him moved out of the house he is renting. We are going to put everything in storage until we know more. He will need to live with someone, probably my mother-in-law. They are divorced, but they have a good relationship, he drove truck for her business for years. Next we have to figure out how disability and social security work, and all that. Power of attorney was given to his son earlier so we can start doing paperwork for it. Anyways, there is a lot to learn, but I'm hopeful he can make a good recovery and still has some good years left ahead.

There is no way they don't bring Garrus and Tali back as squadmates. NO WAI.

I really have to wonder what sort of movies you are watching, because I have lived in the US my whole life and I have no idea what you are talking about. I've travelled extensively through the country and it's lovely and safe and filled with happy people. Are there bad neighborhoods? Sure, are there no bad neighborhoods in EU nations? It is also still a country with a ton of opportunity to succeed. Despite a very bleak economic situation over the last 5 years, we still have people becoming millionaires every day (and I'm not talking lottery winners.) I have students who come from India, China, and many other countries to get an education here, many of them go on to college with scholarships and get chances that their parents never had. So chill on your whole anti-US crusade
-
This also started with a ridiculous assertion that the US has the largest percentage of mentally ill people in the world. While that statistic may very well be true, it is still just fun with numbers if you don't back it up with way more information. Plus the difference between a country like China and the US is in the US we actually try to treat and diagnose mental illness. The criminal justice system in the US might be bloated, inefficient, and in need of major overhaul, but it's still nowhere near the horror of a place like that Honduran prison that just went up in flames. It is fair to argue that there are a lot of European countries that handle crime better, but their system is not necessarily one that can be taken and transplanted into the US. You are dealing with a ton of different variables here.

Prisoners use a lot more resources than they provide.

Neither TOR or BF# actually use Origin, although you need it up to load BF3. I also don't really like the browser setup for BF3, in fact I wish they had figured out a way to do it through Origin instead.
-
It took 300 artists to get that modeling done right.
-
Origin has expanded their library, but until they start putting on those insane sales I don't see it being a real contender anytime soon. Although if I'm buying a full priced title online, I might prefer Origin. It loads up faster and seems simpler to navigate. I've come to grips with having two different digital stores on my PC. But if somebody tries to force a third on me, I'm going to whine for weeks, and eventually relent because I'm addicted to video games.

I got the black screen on the demo too, and post processing fixed it, but it never crashed on me. But yeah, I wouldn't buy it yet with that kind of experience.

Origin, SWTOR, and the Bioware Social Network are all supposed to be merged together depending on the email you used. As I said before, I had some trouble with this a few months ago, I called EA support and they were able to help me sort everything out. It was surprisingly easy, I was expecting a lot more trouble with it to be honest.
-
EA is also not a person, so holding some grudge for their business practices twenty years ago seems a bit odd. Particularly since they don't even have the same upper management. I have my concerns about EA today, but I actually consider them the least worrisome of the large publishers at this stage. I save most of my disdain for Ubisoft Why are you worried about it not working Bos? It seems pretty stable so far. Running the demo should be a pretty easy check for that.

Yeah, joining guilds is a bit like opening a box of chocolates. There are going to be some weird ones in there. I used to join guilds rather quickly in MMO's, but now I take a wait and see approach. It took me a full year to find a group in Lord of the Rings Online that I really liked, but it worked out well and extended my playing time considerably. I prefer a small guild where I can get to know everyone somewhat, and one where folks are comfortable talking about real life stuff rather than just the game all the time.

For some reason we were talking about this game in the ME3 thread, I wanted to make sure anyone thinking of buying knows it is available on Steam as well.
-
Did you say it was on steam? Just flipped over to check to see if that was right, didn't see it there. And that explains that. I just located it on Steam, the demo is there too.
-
There was the whole Wrex being alive thing, and my running into Ashley instead of Kaiden. Plus I had Ashley's picture sitting on my desk on the ship. The emails were a nice touch, but they were far from the only impact from the first game.
-
For the Origin question, I heard it is available on Steam as well. But yes, if you want to play the demo, Origin works well.
