NON-Obsidian South Park RPG Sequel Announced!
Hurlshort replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
It was in development for too long and likely had a more bloated budget than many other Obsidian titles, so that means the profit margin was cut into. Games that likely were more profitable: FO:NV KotOR 2 NWN2 PoE Dungeon Siege 3 also probably pulled in a better profit, given the small team and short development time. -

I am. He's the only one who's not a corporate sell-out. That is because he is a corporation. A man of the people!

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VII (J.J. Strikes Back)
Hurlshort replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
MMO content is supposed to be dynamic and ever changing. Otherwise the game is just going to be stale. You need a way to progress the core player base, but also allow new players to enter the game and not be stuck years behind. Personally I enjoy the journey of a slowly developing character. In Lord of the Rings Online, my captain spent years following in the footsteps of the fellowship. But I also went back to WoW after a long break and enjoyed the streamlined run through all of their zones. TOR hasn't really been out long enough to know what it will look like in the long run. -

Not surprisingly, I get that impression every time I discuss stuff with some of the gamergaters. I've been called an SJW a number of times despite doing zero social justice warrioring. Plus they go after Bruce like a pack of rabid dogs every time he posts his weird stuff.

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VII (J.J. Strikes Back)

I'm hoping that they streamline the leveling process, a la WoW, someday so you can move through without all the grind. There have been some very good story moments. -

Hurlshort replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
Nah, my Jedi Knight of the Old Republic just killed the Emperor a couple weeks ago. Now he's cleaning up the mess that a Hutt Cartel made. After that he'll probably go after some guy named Revan. -

I look at that and just get pissed off we didn't get KOTOR 3... That's weird, I've been playing KotOR 3 off and on for the last few years. -
The idea that SJWism is an actual movement, and not just some crazies on twitter, is hard to buy into.

Heh, bombers are pretty much the new trend with all the smaller craft breweries gaining momentum. Usually you get special release and higher abv in them. For me, I won't get through a 6 or 12 pack fast enough, and I find the last couple always end up at the back fridge for months. If I buy a bomber or two, I get some interesting varieties to choose from, and they never go to waste. It's definitely not more cost effective, since some of the bombers are about the same price as a six pack, but I don't drink enough to worry about that. They aren't quite malt liquor.

I bought a bomber of Stone's Ruination 2.0 and drank it last night. It was spectacular.

I watched Wildcard, a Jason Statham flick about a degenerate gambler who also is good at beating people up. I was in the mood for something with Vegas in it, since I'm going in a few weeks, and this was a decent trip through a few casinos. It had some pretty good parts, really pretty standard Statham stuff. But it had a lot of slooooow parts, so I wouldn't recommend it or anything.

To be fair, we have no idea if they even wanted to do another one. I mean they pretty much accomplished what they set out to do. I have no idea where they would even go with another game. I'm sure it would be gross though.

I'm ok without the galactic war. I prefer the smaller storylines scattered around the galaxy over a grand one. It seems more fitting for an MMO too. -

I'll say this, Bioware knows how to do a trailer.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nzq9epS2b1A -
I'm not really entirely convinced that skills have been cut, the video is basically grasping onto a short E3 clip. I'll wait for an interview first. That being said, I'm upset if is true, although if they are simply combing skills and perks into one thing, I can see it still working. I won't be upset unless I find out that the check are out, where the game opens up more dialogue, paths, etc using your perks and SPECIAL abilities.

My metabolism has changed quite a bit since I hit my mid-thirties though, so I've started to pay a bit more attention to what I eat. Not really calories, per se, but I do try and watch the fat and sugar. Who am I kidding though, I am terrible and watching the sugar. But yeah, the fitbit just gives you an average idea of calories, it's not going to be terribly accurate. Even the heart rate monitor can be a bit iffy.
-
It is definitely just a glorified pedometer. I actually had no interest in tracking my runs or heart rate until my wife got one, and then I got tech envy. Still, it puts all the vital information in one easy to navigate app, so that's nice. Plus I haven't owned a watch for years, and it is synced with my phone so the caller ID shows up on it when my phone rings. So it's a fun little luxury. This isn't my dashboard, but this is an example of what it looks like: It also lets you compare to your friends, so that scratches the competitive itch.

I see it more like your childhood best friend who goes far away on university and once you meet him again after those years you realise he grew into bit of jerk. But somewhere deep inside hope he will change to better, so you still be going on his party just to check him up Why u edit out my adorable cat pic? Also stop expecting your childhood friend to act like he did when he was a child. Especially when he's not even really the same person, just another guy with the same name.
