French Election : Macron Victory
I would think that would be more like "People without kids push not having kids" (edit: which they totally do with all their vacations and free time. )

French Election : Macron Victory
I wasn't talking about the history of religion or even the reality of religion. I was talking about perception. It is a popular perception in countries where these religions are dominant that Christianity and Islam provide a moral compass and those without it are lacking. Again, it is not an idea I agree with, I am simply saying it exists. My question was; is it similar to the idea that only people with children can be concerned about the future; which is what Meshugger put forward.

That's an interesting way to look at it. Is that like the idea that people without religion are immoral? no its like idea that people without religion push secular ideas. Don't understand where you get religion = morality It's a pretty popular idea, I am certainly not saying I agree with it. Of course the idea that you need to have children in order to respect the future also seems a bit off to me.

Dear Black People
Strange, from my experience people that complain about diverse societies are either close-minded (general fear of anything different and lack actual historical context for how constant change and diversity is in human society) or have a degree of hatred towards others. Strange how i been to many homogenous societies and never experienced what you are talking about. On the contrary, they are quite curious to strangers and are more than happy to share their cultural quirks, like celebrations, dances and such. Of course I don't to villages on the czech countryside for example with the attitude of them being better of if it was less of them and more of someone else. Strange how you confuse homogenous societies, which I have no problem with, and people who complain about diverse societies, which I was addressing. I feel like we've had this discussion before. edit: To elaborate, I think diversity and change are fairly inevitable. Those homogeneous societies sound delightful, and no one should ever ask them to give up their culture. If they are curious of strangers, that would not fit the criteria of complaining about diversity.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
I'm not really sure that the Fallout series isn't hardcore anymore, though, I just don't think it is what I am looking for in a game. They chose to go nuts with the building and defense aspect and move away from the skill and character development that I loved. By all accounts it is a superior shooter and action game than in the past, but again that isn't what I want from Fallout. They also continue to make fantastic exploration simulators, which eat up a lot of hours. In the end I didn't like Fallout 4, but I can hardly fault them for going after a different audience, and I will always be glad that we got New Vegas out of the revival. edit: The Wolfenstien stuff is fantastic, btw. Again, not really my cup of tea, but those games have a ton of style.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
I would hardly say they are a crappy publisher. They struggled at first, but they have clearly been a good partner for both Arkane and id, as those two have been releasing fantastic title after fantastic title. I get why someone would be upset with the direction they are pushing Fallout and Prey. But these were also both dead IP's that were resurrected. Personally I am more annoyed with Prey, where they totally changed the story and universe, than Fallout. But they are also in the business of selling games, and there is no doubt they are finding a broad audience for their titles.

Ethics/Trust Scenario: Empire of Suds
I hope Norm and Cliff can work things out. Yes, Jeb violated Bob's trust. Both of these guys sound like terrible gossips. I'm not sure that right, wrong, or reason really matter. If Bob sees it as a violation of trust, then Jeb should apologize for the sake of the friendship. It may seem silly or unreasonable, but sometimes you have to choose the relationship over personal convictions. This seems like the type of situation where it is best to apologize profusely and buy him a beer or three.

Strange, from my experience people that complain about diverse societies are either close-minded (general fear of anything different and lack actual historical context for how constant change and diversity is in human society) or have a degree of hatred towards others. Oh the irony. Oh the naivety. Oh the hubris.

I am trying to resist the urge to buy Prey, since I have a backlog, it is expensive, and I am still a bit sore they dropped the previous themes. :/

I am super confused about the terminology Malcador is using.

Politics 2017 part V
If the average American makes 40-50k a year, it really depends on what their deductibles and personal cap are. If they have a cap of 10k, that's still a massive blow to their finances. Might not bankrupt them, but string together a couple years of that and it won't look pretty.

Speaking of medical insurance, I ended up reading this recently: http://www.cnbc.com/id/100840148 I wonder if it has changed at all in the last few years?

That is the appropriate beer for such a concoction, well done.

NFL 2017-2018 Season
That's true, but he also never seems to stay healthy, and teams probably figure it is better to invest in a younger QB they can mold. Still seems pretty silly though. Maybe he's asking for too much money?

I wonder what percentage of students who take foreign language in US schools get anywhere near fluent? It has to be pretty low. We have some immersion programs for Mandarin and Spanish in my parts, those are pretty effective. Although there are some behavioral issues. You have a group of 20 kids who are with each other from 1st-8th grade. That is not an easy environment to teach in.

It's a big country, there are plenty of homogeneous areas. But the best restaurant choices are in the melting pots of diversity.

Well here are my content standards: http://www.cde.ca.gov/be/st/ss/documents/histsocscistnd.pdf But really, the content is just a vehicle, the goal of a 7th grade teacher is to help students develop skills.

Dear Black People
I know the ones I used was weak sauce cept cracker, they were used as examples. The thing is u can flip the word and instead of "damn there's a bunch of Whitey's in here" is acceptable, but "damn there's a bunch of darkeys in here" is not acceptable right? That's what makes it confusing because it seems like a double standard. Sure, there is a double standard, but that is rooted in a long history of bigotry and systematic discrimination in the US. The reason we have all these special interest groups for minorities, or stations like BET and LOGO, is because these are groups which have been historically under-represented, mis-characterized, or worse. edit: Gorgon beat me to it and we are at start of again, so when/how long it will it take to not be an issue anymore? We aren't that far removed from Brown v. Board of Education and the Civil Rights of 1964, so I'd imagine we have a ways to go. Of course you also need economic progress within minority communities to help pave the path. We've also got a generation of young people that have just had the first Black president. Regardless of the job he did, that is a tremendous cultural shift. It will be interesting to see how this next generation handles that. Much like the Civil Rights movement of the 60's, I think you are going to get some difficult growing pains (which is seems like we are well on the way into that) followed by a period of progress. Heh, it's a complicated issue, and I'm really just spitballing here.
