  1. Pretty common sight whenever we spend time in Arizona. The keys on the carabiner seem a bit much though.
  2. The Anita Hill situation was certainly not a good introduction to the public for Clarence Thomas. But honestly he's kept a fairly low profile since, so I'm not sure if hated if the right word.
  3. Thanks for sharing, I guess?
  4. We could definitely do with a change in the gun culture of the US. It's strange because I grew up with realistic looking toy guns and no one I knew was really all that interested in the real thing, and now all the toys look ridiculous and people people are super gung-ho about owning firearms. Probably not all that related, but still. I'd love to see an actual movement to establish legitimate militias that aren't filled with whack jobs and are focused on gun safety.
  5. Yep, most people don't decide to destroy their doors when they aren't opening properly.
  6. Except it isn't really bad writing or bad plotting unless you spend time thinking about it. Most people go to the movies, enkoy their two hours of entertainment, and never look back. Even discussing it here is way more than the vast majority of movie goers bother with. And really that is what I go into movies trying to do. 2 hours to hopefully be entertained by good acting, or humor, or bright visuals. I will leave the dissections up to the film school students. Also I don't really remember the 2nd ST being skewered. Maybe in ST circles it was, but in general I thought it was recieved as a typical summer popcorn action flick.
  7. I wouldn't say that, Episodes 2, 7 and 8 are pretty lackluster in that area for me, the most former being downright painful to watch again Why in the world would you watch them again?
  8. People also try to make too much of Star Wars. It's fun space fantasy. All of the movies have been entertaining in their own right. Not everything has to be high art.
  9. I don't think most people find it hard to imagine at all.
  10. My first campaign in Xenonauts went pretty badly a few years back, and I stopped playing when I couldn't keep up with the UFO's. I've started a new game and it seems to be going much smoother. I just built my 3rd base and I'm starting to make plasma weapons, although my lasers are still pretty great.
  11. https://www.yahoo.com/news/needs-paint-job-trump-blasts-virginia-restaurant-asking-sarah-sanders-leave-130000156.html I think this whole scenario is pretty dumb, but the reactions of everyone is just cray cray. The restaurant deserves some terrible yelp reviews and all that. I do not understand why the President of the United States is wasting time talking about the state of their canopies. I need to repeat that. I do not understand why the President of the United States is wasting time talking about the state of their canopies.
  12. Korg was the best part. Would you like to join my revolution?
  13. Pretty sure this guy was a member here at some point.
  14. Don't explain yourself to these young punks, MW.
  15. That was the dumbest thing I have read in awhile. People were way tougher in the dark ages when literacy rates were like 1 percent.
  16. Go to a farmer's market I think Gfted is near Chicago. Not all farmer's markets are equal.
  17. Did my first Olympic distance Triathlon today! If you've been following along, you might remember that the swim has been a struggle for me, both in my first sprint event last month and the open water training I did a few weeks ago. For some reason today it just clicked though, and I was able to swim strong freestyle for the entire 1750 yards. I was actually so surprised how easy it was to stay in the rhythm and sight people that I found myself pushing pretty hard halfway through. I ended up with a 30 minute split which was about 4 minutes faster than my previous speed average. I hit the bike fast (after another slow transition, I've gotta practice that!) and felt good on the course. It was a pretty fun course, basically a quick 5 miles out of town, then about a 10 mile steady climb (not too steep, maybe 400 feet) and then a fast 10 miles back down. Much like the swim, I stayed with a group and felt good. I averaged about 20 miles per hour, so it took 1:15 to finish. The run was tough. That is typically my strength, but this was a hilly trail course with lots of gravel. I was hoping for a 7:30 pace, but ended up with 8:15 over the 10k distance. It took 50 minutes. I'm not too down about it, I passed a lot of miserable people walking the hills and my time was pretty decent for my age group. Overall I finished in 2:43, and that put me 24th out of 55 in my age group. I'm bummed I didn't place higher, but you can't control the other people. My goal was to finish under 2:45 and I hit that. The bike is still my weakness, even though I've been working hard at it. But just a mile or two slower than competitors comes out to some pretty big gaps. Still, my first Olympic is in the books and hopefully I'll keep getting faster.
  18. I have no idea if Cyberpunk will be good, and I'm not really a Witcher fan, but CPDR has apparently improved with each title they have released, so they've earned their street cred.
  19. Sharpie is probably trying to post the source, but the mods are blocking it.
  20. If anyone hasn't got this one yet, you better grab it on sale. It was the best game I played in the last year.
  21. I doubt 15% off is a good indicator of a game bombing. That's a pretty tiny discount. Usually new games that come out during the holidays are offered up with those types of discounts, and it doesn't necessarily mean they aren't selling well.
  22. Huh, didn't know Volo was pro-life.
  23. I don't play team based multiplayer games because I am the terrible player that Malc and Bart have to cover for.
  24. I am not sure how they really expected Solo to succeed, given the messy production.
  25. I was pretty disappointed in FO4, but I still put in a lot of hours exploring. Tyranny isn't really going to scratch that itch, it is much more of a narrative experience and also quite a bit smaller in scope. Pick up both. You will get to them eventually.
