Everyone knows the only ancient occult book is the Tome of Eternal Darkness. My buddy Mantorok assured me of this.

I gave myself eyes once, it stung.

Actually once they can make eyes better than the ones I was born with, yes provided I can afford it and provided I won't look like a freak. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, so do I, only mine would have to have an additional prerequisite, they would have to be able to record sights, I also want aural enhancements that can record sounds. This is mostly because I know a couple of people that will rely on my memory whenever it agrees with them, but whenever it disagrees they don't.

I use a Katana to cut all my food, sure it set me back $2k, but it sure is sharp.

Canned stewed tomatoes. These come in handy in many recipes, as well as having an 'insanely long shelf life'.

Don't do that Gorth. The ending to the Expansion was good, not to mention seemed pretty plot critical. Also, the Orphanage level is one of the creepiest plays I've done in awhile.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dear god I actually remember that.... But I found the baby levels in the first one to be more disturbing <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought that quote was funny. What was disturbing about it? -

Well, the problem with the Mexican water, is the pipes lack the integrity to keep out contamination. Also, the pipes are so small (usually about six inches), you can't even flush toilet paper. You are indeed correct that even the Mexicans don't drink their own water, the way it was explained to me by one of the dudes who had been working and living down there with them for awhile, was the even though they didn't get the trots every time they touched the water like we do, ameobic dysentary isn't something to mess around with. We got our water from the city water, but boiled it and stuck it in those big jugs that go on the top of water coolers to carry it around. The first day we were on the work site, I believe it was 107 Degrees (Fahrenheit). Several people got heat stroke, one of them so bad that they drove her around in one of the vehicles for several hours with the AC blowing on her face before taking her back to church. At the end of the day one of the contractors congratulated us, because he said that that's about as hot as a work site gets before they just save their work for another day, so we'd made it through the worst possible conditions. The other nasty thing about the weather, was that because the work site was down in a valley below some pretty big mountains, there was some nasty wind shear that gave you wind burn as well as sunburn, and helped to suck even more moisture out of you. I didn't fare too badly though, since I'd been walking from place to place in the heat waves up here for several weeks (104 Degrees), and thus was fairly acclimatized to the heat, if only uncomfortable.

I reserve the right to tell anyone who shows intolerance or ignorance to shut it, regardless of social status, race, or religion. However, you don't say shut it to the fundamentalist who posted above that he 'disagrees' with homosexuality, how very hypocritical of you, mr. World Savior. PS. Mothman, you of all people ought to learn when not to open your mouth, you invited a flame, although you were expecting it to come from Meta, if you'd just kept your biblical self glorification to yourself, then nothing would have happened. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If Mothman was a fundamentalist, he wouldn't be in favor of gay rights. What I got from his post was he disagrees with it on the basis of his religion, but he tolerates it, that is not intolerance, so much as personal morality. If you think that sort of stance is fundamentalist, you obviously haven't met any real fundamentalists. Totally awesome, beef and potatoe burritoes for teh win! Probably quite Americanised by now. I had a Mexican flatmate who lived on pizza and popcorn. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, there was lots of American like food while we were there, but we didn't eat any of it, unless you count the sammiches we packed for the worksite ourselves. The Mexican pastor's family cooked dinner for us all but two nights, those two nights, we had tacos downtown. American Mexican food is a lot different from Mexican Mexican food too.

I still wish I could will it to animinate.

Meh, there's no denying that the religious text Christianity is based on (both Old and New Testaments) condemn homosexuality. There's also no denying that Jesus didn't speak out about it once in his thirty-five years on the Earth. That leads me to believe the best action to take is tolerance.
-
Indeed... towards certain groups of people. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You shut it. Christians come in all different stripes of beliefs and tolerance. Thanks for the correction Lancer. I got it off of a Billboard for Coke, and the literal translation amuses me. (w00t) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You don't know the nature of our recent discussions on the board, so don't f ucking tell me to shut it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, yes I do. In fact, it wouldn't have even took me looking over the threads for the past few days to know you were referring to intolerance towards homosexuals. Whenever someone says that at this point in time, they're referring to lack of tolerance towards homosexuals. I stand by what I said, shut it. Thanks Mus.

I think the clinic will do alright, if only from past experience. The Church has been up for several years now, and remains in pristine condition, despite a few break ins, and one burglary in which the theives stole all the pots and pans. The people seem to feel attachment, even though they weren't helping us build it, they were coming by and chatting off and on all day, the ones who didn't have time to chat, were, as I mentioned, rubbernecking. I hope it will do alright, I'm sure the local Pastor will see to it that it does.

I am a size 11 US. I am 5'7", 5'8" on a good day. I have abnormally large feet and forearms, but because I'm so dang little it's still easy enough to find footwears. I've been wearing Vans sneakers for quite some time now, I've been wanting to switch to a nice work boot for durability (I'm awful to my shoes), but they're just so damned expensive.

Pink is the new Black, that one guy I know who says 'FAB' and 'GLAM' all the time says so.

No. I long for the day when I see 'Murder Simulator Hojillion and 1: A Thousand More Hookers to Beat Up' on store shelves near you.

Interesting. I ask because I'm touching on this issue in the dissertation I'm writing at the moment. A lot of donors like USAID and the World Bank now insist that they'll only give money if the local community gives something, too - like construction material or free labour - to the project. It's very controversial - on the one hand, it means the community feels they 'own' and are responsible for the project, so it's more likely to be used and cared for. On the other hand, for the very poorest in the community it can be impossible to contribute anything, making them even more marginalised and feeling that they have no right to use the new facility, thus defeating the whole purpose. *sigh* I need to stop posting here and actually get back to writing my dissertation. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Extrapolation: The land is public land, donated by the state. All the materials were purchased with bootstrapped monies provided by my church. My church is an Independant denomination, and therefore has no fiscal or overwhelmingly social ties to anyone but it's body. All labors were provided voluntarily by contractors and youth within the bodies of the two churches that collaborated on this, this is one of I think two years that we've collaborated with another church, this recent change is because a former Intern, and a former Youth Pastor from my church both took positions at the same church in Pheonix (new positions were Youth Pastor and Senior Pastor respectively). I guess you could say this means they have as much entitlement to it as they would any piece of public land. The only reason the St. Lucas foundation is involved, is because it was the most feasible way to keep the clinic staffed with doctors. If we had required materials or labor from locals, I doubt the clinic would have been built, there are simply no monies and all the locals are dirt poor.

Old hat, seen it before, as in I saw an article about in in Popular Science about the time they done did it.

The local pastor helped quite a bit, the one who did most of the on site coordination, getting the land, etc. Most of the local people were busy working in the fields, the adults at least. The Federalis totally liked us after the first couple days or so, and stopped even making us sit though the checkpoints, and the local people were all rubbernecking every time the passed the work site. Word of medical facilities apparently spreads extremely fast in rural farm towns.

If this guy wins the case I'll be forced to put all that secret sniper training I've recieved on Halo to good use. Honestly, some people. I doubt I could even aim a real gun. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> -
If you haven't already figured it out Eldar, you can also use the alternate and the primary fires on some weapons at the same time for a tertiary firing mode. Those were probably only really all that useful on the Shuriken launcher (Electrified Ninja Stars take out groups of baddies faster than the Shottie + Freeze combo in most instances), and the Painkiller (Long distance spinning blade of death). I played through the first game, got through Trauma mode, got into the BooH X-Pack (I bought them both at the reduced price of $20 just before the Gold edition came out ), got swamped with work, and had to put it away after the first two levels. I really dug the Orphanage, creepy as all get out. I also downloaded the Bink Tools before I put it away because I wanted to know how it ended. Ending is good.
