  1. HARDCORE XXX HIDALGO ACTION!!! Best...comic...evar.
  2. (See the locked topic 'Not So Random Acts of Kindness' for the pretense) I just got back in. Our base of operations was the Church in Ensenada we'd already built awhile ago, I wasn't there for that one. After that, we rode the busses an hour and a half in each direction morning and night to Puerta la Trumpa and Ohos Negros. We had Vacation Bible School with the Onion Field Workers' kids, and left duffle bags of non-perishable foods with them before we left, we also took similar duffle bags up to an orphanage in Tijuana. We got all the framing done on the clinic, and roofed it with the felt covering that made it water tight. All that's left is finishing work and wiring, as well as the roofing tiles. A few of the boys in the youth group are also raising money for their Senior projects to drill a well. It will be some of the only good water in that part of Mexico that's not bottled if they manage to raise the $4000. Small groups of contractors, and possibly some of the youth will be making trips down there the rest the year to finish the Clinic, it should be staffed shortly thereafter. It will treat patients for free, taking donations when available, and is attached to a non-profit missions group that profides medical treatment (St. Lucas Foundation IIRC. )
  3. Totally already built the clinic a few weeks ago. Building a clinic this year...for...uh...medical... ...reasons. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You should build a Mosque, then. Like the Christians do in the Middle East. While the Muslims build the Churches. (Okay, this is usually after some sort of sectarian violence, but it's a nice thought.) And don't gimme that "there aren't any Muslims" schtick. <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Gah! Just noticed I said we built the clinic a few weeks ago, and we're building it again. What I meant to say (and it looks like you noticed) is that we built the church a few years ago, and that now we're building the clinic. I'd be all for building a Mosque as a gesture of goodwill, but people insist on saying that every other religion aside from Christianity is a tool of the devil, and therefore we have to exclude others. Myself, I like John Paul II's take on religion, i.e. we can all work together, but he was rather forward thinking in that area. ... Is it a mere co-inkydink that you are going when all the colleges have their Summer break ... all those young teenage drunk girls try to win wet tee-shirt competitions, amidst their sororities attempted blood poisoning alcohol consumption rituals ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Words for the wise Laozi, words for the wise. It's definitely a coinkydink, and I didn't know there were spring break contests in Middle-of-Nowhere Mexico. Reason they schedule it for the summer, and not a more climactically pleasing time like winter, is because it's a weeklong trip, and all the kids are off. Also, they use college students who come back to town for the summer as staff. I'll probably be one of those next year.
  4. I dunno, long, freaking miserable bus ride (especially with this heat wave), work site with lots of inexperienced teenage boys who have NOT been adding enough points into their perception (best euphemism for judgement available me), they don't mix all that well.

  6. If you want, you could, you know, wish us luck. I'm all about inclusion.
  7. Heading down to Mexico early tomorrow morning with my church. The bus ride will be hot, sticky, and largely miserable, Mexico will be just hot, hopefully not so sticky. We will be framing and roofing a clinic we started building last year. Those who have gods to pray to, pray for safety; those who don't, please carry on as normal.
  8. Actually, if this is true, it could actually make me want to read this book, even though I haven't read any of the HP books since Goblet o' Fire due to lack of character development. Now Snape killing Dumbledore, that could not only lead to delicious darkness, but *gasp* character development. I'll be disappointed if this is faked, or even if the image is real, but it's one of those 'OMG CRAPPY PLOT TWIST IN THE FORM OF HIM THINKING SNAPE IS BAD AGAIN WHEN HE'S ACTUALLY GOOD!!!'
  9. I have no idea whether it's real or not. It could be a photoshopped image, it could be a photo/scanned image taken of one of those books that got sold before the street date out of NY. Title changed. I honestly didn't think about it.
  10. I am picturing the picture you posted yesterday saying all this Kaftan. It's more amusing than it should be. (w00t)
  11. Gangrels were one of the worst clans to play as in Bloodlines IMHO. Not many customized lines, and while the female model looked pretty cool, their vamp attributes weren't all that useful in the Game World.
  12. Exactly. I have an *ahem* doppel account here rather like what I thought Ender was doing with you, but I sure can't log into both at the same time (at least not on the same box).
  13. I like the response from the Bail Bondsman. "Why would you wanna do something like that to yourself?!!" Me: "Doesn't this make me unique?"* *This is in all probability not word for word, as it's been forever since my last playthrough of Bloodlines, but there's other references to Body Mods too. :D
  14. This screenshot is interesting considering everyone (including me) has thought that one honourable EnderWiggin was one and the same as the [dis]honourable GoD.
  15. But is there any true opinion? We do not exist, this world is an empty husk of what it once, was, no longer existing. There is no real opinion, it is all in your non-existent head. Blackness is the only truth, cold, empy, blackness.
  16. Meh, I usually play as a Noss or a Malk, so I just slink and sneak my way through the last levels, snapping necks as I merrily walk along. Big boss lady was rather annoying though. ^_^
  17. You're doing a very good job too GoD. Everyone must know the truth, that the world that we live in is a lie, we must unmake ourselves in order to return this morass of darkness to the way it used to be, even if we ourselves will not see the fruits of our labor.* *Being unmade and all.
  18. Let's teach kids that the monsters they are afraid of like Bigfoot are actually quite cuddly. What's next? Hello Kitty takes over Cthulu? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  19. It's not like this thread isn't already going to be locked next time Fionavar the Mighty logs in. Go for it! So long as they don't break the forum rules, which as far as jokes go, probably just means no bad words, use metaphors man!
  20. I think she has a crush on you. If you're not afraid of her dad, you should go after her. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh, I already figured that out. But you know, she's eleven, I'm eighteen. I have a bigger chest than her. Statuatory Rape isn't nearly as thrilling as it's rumored to be, etc. etc. etc.
  21. I don't really look like anyone, but today as I was teaching Vaction Bible School at my church I got called ugly by an eleven year old girl and then pummeled by her tiny little fists. Then she grabbed my hand and told me I had to come meet her daddy. Then she decided my name was 'Bob', even though the nametag I was wearing clearly said 'Jim'. She insisted my name was Bob even after I pointed the name tag out. I get to go through it all again this morning. Kids are insane.
  22. Here we go: hehe I have you now, little troll... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OMFG! It's an out of context post that was quite possibly justified and/or said in jest!
  23. Launchy, how old are you. I remember that from when I was a kid. Does anyone else remember Harry and the Hendersons. I used to think that show was so awesome.
