  1. I think that is dependant on the particular State, e.g. can't Californians drive at fourteen or something ridiculous? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can't drink until I'm 21 by California law. In California, with parental consent, you can get your driver's permit at 15 1/2 years of age, and your driver's liscense at 16, or after six months/200 hours of practice any time before you turn eighteen. Unfortunately, you're also your parent's b!tch in California until you turn eighteen (I couldn't even get a library card without a signed waiver), and since my father deemed me 'too irresponsible to drive' I've got another week before I even get to start learning. What really bites, is he decided my little sister was responsible enough to drive, so she's already been driving me around for a couple of months. I hate my family.
  2. I haven't actually played any of their games... just the demo for enclave, then some on the Xbox. Riddick's damn good, my friends say, though. You know, I actually sent a job application to them back when they were spanking new... man, I think I was 17 or something. The 3D stuff I sent must've sucked ass, but they replied and even gave me some texturing tips and stuff. Hmm... I wonder what THEY are working on? *Google-time!* EDIT: Starbreeze is working on a game based on The Darkness (comic book I've never heard of). Will be presented at E3 this year. Info, at least. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Riddick is damn good. It reminded me a little of Deus Ex when I was playing it on my friend's Xbox the other day. I'll be getting it for PC later.
  3. I now must laugh at everyone who said the leaked pictures I linked to were fake. You know, because they were all definitely real, and in some cases they were better than these.
  4. If the psychic powers work somewhat like in the Jedi Knight games I'll be happy. It looks good, and I'll be getting this game for sure.
  5. I'm under 18 for another seven days. I am youthful until then, and then I shall be a MAN!
  6. I turn eighteen in 8 days... Oh, and Silvershadow, wanna go get dinner and a movie sometime.
  7. Any game where humans have become so rare that they become a myth sounds awesome. Plus the psychic powers! THE PSYCHIC POWERS!
  8. Feh, you think I'd play a shooter on Xbox? Hell no! I'll be playing this on my PC. As for his books, the second one in the series, Speaker for the Dead, is much better. Ender's Game is just a tie in extrapolation of a short story of his he did for his publishers so Speaker would make more sense. Plus, the Piggies and Jane are just cool.
  9. I want this game so bad. Orson Scott Card wrote the story, and they've got an entire orchestra doing the music for it. It's supposed to be the first part of a trilogy, and having already seen the sad nature of trilogies that aren't allowed to be completed in Beyond Good & Evil, (plus being an Orson Scott Card fan) I hope desperately this game doesn't flop.
  10. Um, no, I was talking more about hiring illegal immigrants so they can pay them less and screw americans out of jobs. Paying women less in the same position as their male counterparts. There've been lawsuits man, their ethics are pretty dirty.
  11. I admire Wal-Mart because they are capitalism incarnate. However I admire them in the same way I admire someone who's particularly devious/manipulative, but leaves a bad taste in my mouth doing business with them. The same way I try not to deal with people like that, I try not to deal with Wal-Mart. They're just too unethical even for me.
  12. I play sometimes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Then you can't be a girl!
  13. Trillian has AOL, YIM, MSN, ICQ, and IRC functionality, there's a pay and a free version. It's not really open source though.
  14. Shut up Jim. Freelancer is teh R0x0rs and Scrapland is pile of bukkake - the Kaftan Barlast variety! Also in terms of sales, CrapLand tanked worse than an Iraqi Scud Launcher! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> :'( Good sales do not make a good game, bad sales do not make a bad game.
  15. Hey guys. Scrapland is pretty similar to Freelancer, with a better story, and a more unique world. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's sold all too well, as it's already been priceslashed to $20. I'd get it though, I have it, it's a lot of fun, and building your own ships is awesome.
  16. I would never lower myself to do business with Wal-Mart. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You too?
  17. I don't think you need plugins, when I tried it, it did what I wanted, but then again, I'm not the best Photoshopper, I've heard people who are (Photoshop dude on The Screen Savers back when TechTV was TechTV) say that it did. Apparently the interfaces is different, so some of the things you're used to being one thing in PS might be named, or under a different category in The GIMP, but once you get used to it it's golden. Quintessential player plays MP3s just fine, and it has many more plugins and schtuff than Winamp for customization and functionality.
  18. The blog linked me to the gallery. The gallery shattered my childhood. :'(
  19. Quintessential Player is much better than Winamp. Winamp is now owned by AOL IIRC. Only reason I haven't made the complete switch over to Linux or Mac OSX is because of the lack of compatibility with not only games, but in the case of Mac, some of the hardware. I use my PC as: 1. A workstation/internet browsing device. 2. A game platform. Therefore any hits to compatibility means I'm probably never going to make a complete switch to an OS. The GIMP can do everything Adobe Photoshop can, and is free to boot.
  20. Reading a blog I've since STOPPED reading. NEVER AGAIN! Some of the pinups were kinda sorta neat though.
  21. Really?! Where? (for the sake of research) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pervs, Google 'Julius Zimmerman'...first hit.
  22. I voted for AvP. I am biased. I am a fanboy.
  23. I've seen plenty of...ah...'fanart' with her in all of the above acts.
