  1. I dunno, he has kinda been getting progessively nuttier and Mormony as the years went on, that and it was a videogame, not a book. Different mediums and all that.
  2. Gamespot reviewed it average IIRC. Most of the community were harsher than that and even went so far as to say it was 'broken'. The main complaints IIRC, was that the story is unoriginal, and basically a ripoff of everything, even Halo. The game is somewhat hard early, after you get psi powers, it's way too easy. The AI for your enemies is AWFUL, and it's got this annoying auto-tracker for combat that makes the camera automatically snap and lock onto an enemy if you get close to them. Honestly, I'm wondering if it's all that bad too, but the PC version isn't out yet, and I don't have an Xbox (just the Cube).
  3. The X-Box version was already released, read the thread man, it got really bad reviews for an A+ title too. Or do you mean you're optimistic for the PC version? Or you think the reviewers were wrong!
  4. ^ Eru be the head God in The Silmarillion, the Elves are servants of Eru.
  5. I think you should be bonked on the head. You know, for punishment. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Go ahead, I might enjoy it.
  6. No, no I don't think it was. See, it's funny, because Star Wars Galaxies is more awful than a regular MMO. Funny, very funny. <looks around for a Mod to get his name changed to Turd Ferguson>
  7. A. You don't even play it, why do you care? B. It's Star Wars Galaxies, who the hell gives a poop?
  8. I think all games need more rape and paedophilia. You know, for realism. "
  9. I would tentatively say a lot of the violence in society is a result of not only social problems (such as habits and actions being passed down from father to son), but also as a result of humans not expressing their natural agression in healthy ways in the extremely passive (if you play by the rules) society we live in.
  10. If you call that dumbed down I'd love to see what you made of Jade Empires combat system.. EPIII combat dosnt really take off until you buy a few levels , it's quite RPG like in that respect. I think dueling Mace and the apprentice with twin sabers would be my personal highlights. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My problem with the combat, was it seemed like they were trying to make it similar to the JK combat, what with the lightsabers, and the force powers, but it just sucked. It wasn't even good combat for a side-scroller. I haven't played Jade Empire yet, but for me, in that sort of game, 'dumbed-down' isn't a deal breaker. I play a game like Jade Empire for the story, I play a game like Episode III for the combat/cool looking stuff. Episode III didn't satisfy in that respect for me. Personal preference and all that stuff though. "
  11. I think I'm the only one on this site that hated the Episode III game. But the fact that NumbersMan and Nur agree on something tells me perhaps I'm in the right this time. :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I hated it. I played some of the first level at a friend's house on his Xbox before I gave up out of frustration because of A. The dumbed down combat. B. The horrid wannabe side-scroller perspective.
  12. What I don't understand, is that you are all generally in agreement that the only people truly affected in a severe way by videogame violence are young children (as in under 10 years of age), and you still claim that the parents would not have a good enough handle on their children to keep them from being exposed to such material. I don't know about everyone else, but when I was younger, I wasn't at all rebellious. In fact, I remember one time I was over at a young mate's house, and he was playing Quake (actually, this was closer to 11 or 12 years of age, but the point stand), now this was acceptable in his parents eyes, but my parents had forbade me to play such things, and because of the sense of morality they had instilled in me, I didn't. If parents can't keep the reins on their under 13 year old children, maybe they should think twice before having children.
  13. I voted yes, on the grounds that, barring Lucasarts going bankrupt or being phased out, I am most certain that sometime or other in the future they will put out another good game that I want. Whether that game be a new Jedi Knight style shoot 'em up/saber combat sim, space sim, RTS, KotOR3, or whatever, they will put something out I want, and I will buy it.
  14. The bolded part is the part that makes me uncomfortable. Everything else was agreeable enough, though in some settings I could see 'evil' options being feasible. It is the sole responsibility of the parents to bring up their kids properly, not the game developers, not the internet, not the government (exceptin' in cases of extreme abuse or neglect on the part of the parents), not even the babysitter. Seriously, parents need to know what their kids are doing.
  15. Then the issue you're shooting at is 'should we censor games aimed at an adult audience for kids because their parents will not keep tabs on them, therefore the government, the game industry, the entertainment industry, and everyone else should'. I don't like that issue, it's overdone, and it bugs the hell out of me.
  16. I guess it could have been something else. Silk paintings are kinda sorta not the most detailed art medium ever, at least not the old ones. It probably could have been a recreation too.
  17. Social Anarchy and Polygamy are the only way, now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to launch some rocks at the Earth.
  18. All I know, is I once saw a silk painting of two women, in feudal Japanese dress, with a primitive looking wooden strap-on, doing each other while eating fine chocolates. Japanese culture boggles me.
  19. Dude, Bok, I was totally in Hollywood last Saturday night. Went to the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum and then to the Hard Rock Cafe. This was all with the Church Youth Group, so it was especially hilarious during the live music. Is it now meta? Is it?!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You sound like you have some thoughts on the matter ... I mean unless you are talking about tossing salads ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you implying that there is something wrong with greenery?
  20. "Appropriate"??? I didn' know it was a breech of social ettiquite to not share your piddly butt opinions. My "vaunted" job does qualify as an excuse because I would rather do what I get paid to do then argue with a teenager over his inability to understand anything that is not written in a simple and clearly obvious format so he can get it. Tossing newspapers on peoples lawns is a job in a technical sense, but when you grow up you will learn that actual big boy jobs are much more demanding then being able to read. I find being called an "Immature lamer", like, funny dood. Me n' mah boiz are like, laughin' n' stuff Yes the waves of abuse I unleashed at everyone here was truly a grand display. I can't believe the amount of cursing and racial slurs came from my virgin keyboard. A thesis usually contains about 30 to a hundred pages, depending on the subject and university in question. I realize my short paragraph was quite a taxing read for one such as yourself but please don't assume everyone else is a semi-literate monkey that somehow knows how to operate a computer. (This was another subtle hint, try and figure it out) I didn't ignore them I just want to read what everyone said first and make a longer reply when I am not tired. I'll dumb it down a shade or two for you. What I was indirectly saying is most rpg fans pretend to dislike games they actually like so as not to appear foolish in front of the other crpg elitest snobs who also secretly like the game. Me go eat now back later stuff. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Even though I'm a PC Fanboy, I just couldn't help myself...
  21. Torment has some awesome tunes. Lately I've noticed that even though it's all updated old stuff, the music in Wind Waker is pretty awesome, the violins are pretty.
  22. Is there any other kind? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, my views allign with the classic Republican ideals more than Democrats, but I hate Bush, am pro-choice, pro-gay rights, and anti-war. Bush isn't really a Republican in the classic sense, he's just...odd.
