I realized this dropped the 7th last night. I was all ready to go out to the game store and buy it, then I realized I had a stack of games for the Gamecube, one of which I haven't even started due to Memory Card constraints, I have some games for the PC I haven't even completed...and I realized I really don't need this game right now, at least not until it drops in price. I think I grew up.

I think what MGS guy was saying was more along the lines of "To unleash the true potential, it would be like making a game out of FMVs." Hence the comment about time and manpower.

I'd check for a loose connection too. I've had the same thing happen and all it was was a loose seated cable from all the fans in my monster box rattling it out.

I have an experiment for you, go to your local grocery, and look at all the prices for all the different foods, make notes of which ones have the highest fat contents. Go back through and make notes about how much the different quality meats cost (i.e. the lowfat hamburger, instead of the regular hamburer, the chuck roast riddled with fat instead of the T-Bone steaks, the Pot Roast instead of the Tri-Tip, even the Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs instead of the Hebrew National ones). Basically the problem is that food is plentiful, anyone on a minimum wage job can get by, and eat quite well. The problem is, while the food is plentiful, the healthier, non-fattier stuff is sold at a premium, and most people don't bother with sales. If stuff is bought on sales, you can get the healthier stuff at a decent price (this is known from experience, my family is living off of $35k a year, that is below the poverty line in my area), but as said, most people don't.

Eh...actually, the larger size does make sense. I remember several years back when Blu-Ray was just a concept in the What's New section of Popular Science, they were saying the troubles with it at the time, were it was too large because the beam is shot through water (Blu-Ray) rather than an Industrial Ruby. That results in a smaller beam that can read and write more information, but the mechanism to create the beam has to be larger to ensure the water doesn't evaporate. Ender is welcome to correct me on this if I'm wrong, as I'm sure he will.

Oh bother, I knew about the animated ones, I thought we were talking live action here. I declare I missed the serial and that is it! To be fair, I've seen the Superman serial, but not the Batman one, I'll have to look for it, I <3 camp.

I want to say six (Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman Begins, whatever the campy one with Adam West was called), but I'm not sure if there was more than one Batman movie with Adam West in it. Plus, there might be another one in the seventies or something, like the long forgotten Spiderman Movie. You know, the one where the hippy kids built a dirty bomb for an enviromental protest, Spidey got wind of it, and had to save them before they contaminated the city with the deadly radiation clinging to their bodies after the dirty bomb blew up in their faces.

Hrm... Hypothetically, according to Epiphany, HD-DVD can be played back on regular DVD players, albeit at lower resolutions. If this has been disproved, I missed it and I apologize, ignore this post. Blu-Ray can not. Blu-Ray is pretty much undisputedly technologically superior (like Beta), and with more widespread superiority, it will probably actually win this time (unlike Beta). PS3 is able to play Blu-Ray and DVD discs. If you can play HD-DVD on a DVD player, you can play an HD-DVD on the PS3... I think I'll be needing a PS3, if nothing else other than to watch movies released to HD-DVD while the superior market share is sorted out.
