  1. Mine are level 6-7 and on Potd? They take no damage. Heres at level 4, tanking in chill fogs in the second level (post patch new group because lockpick bug broke my game):
  2. Well I send in my tanks, and throw a chill fog, firewall and fireballs at them. The tanks live, everything else dies.

  4. Oh doh, my priest can no longer set multiple seal traps ... I cant figure out how to beat the lighthouse now .... That should mean an hour or two of fun trying to win. aha ... I haz an obsidian lamp ... rub de rub rub.
  5. Ok so I just found out when trying to do the lighthouse again that you can only cast 1 priest seal at a time too now. ****. How do I beat all those shades now???
  6. Exactly, they already have this amazing engine they have made, people want more of it, so they should carry on using it. Simple.
  7. Aha summons ... I'm not using those yet. I'm not sure how a barb could survive in the lighthouse.
  8. That's the thing, I was thinking of taking the time one for chill fog ... But then I thought what else is it going to work with? And chill fogs base damage is so low +25% isn't going to do much. I could take fire ... Just for fireball? I don't use fan of flames because chill fog is better. So I took stuff to make my implements better instead for auto attack spamming. Also other than blast / penetrating blast, I found all the other wizard class talents to be weak compared to taking noble weapon focus / marksman / dangerous implements instead. Or you can even forget all that and just focus on guns instead.

  10. Best RPG system and game since BG / IWD / PST. I will pay more money for more games like this ... Please no 3D or making anything easier for the love of how awesome this game is. I do advise making it harder though, and making the current Potd the default difficulty level.
  11. There's one major flaw to criticizing development choices and that is that the devs aren't going to listen to you. Its a pointless and futile waste of energy. Its best to just play the game as it is given and work with that. PoE is a perfectly good IE style game and feels fantastic to play, unless you're not into this type of game in which case why aren't you playing Call of Duty?
  12. I expected a BG successor with NWN so that would be most of the reason why I hated it. I tried to play it like BG with top down camera and I almost had an aneurysm every time.

  14. I think of the future.Probably next Eternity will be 2D But the further, will have to deal necessarily with the times. Not everyone loves the 2d, we are a narrow niche, but you have to think that there are millions of players who now only appreciate the 3D and Obsidian works not only for passion but also for money and must extend its users. This game and future games in this series are not for people like you. Go somewhere else and buy a 3D RPG. Its not going to happen with this series.
  15. NwN wasn't a successor to IE games , even though many people expected something along those lines at the time. Comparing an isometric RPG with 2D backgrounds and sprites to a 3D RPG, is like comparing apples to oranges. Very intelligent. Your knowledge of video game engines is impressive indeed. False. NWN was a successor to AD&D2 games, succeeding then with the next D&D ruleset. The only reason it went 3D was because Wizards / Atari demanded it to allow liscensing of their DnD franchise. And it sucked in comparison to BG and IWD.
  16. Here's the thing ... Over 77,000 people backed this game with $4m to have it as a 2D IE experience. Now why exactly do you want to go back to a 3D engine? You already have hundreds of 3D RPGs to play. Its not 'thinking of the future' to want future pillars games to move to 3D, the only reason why this game got backed and why it saved Obsidian is because they went back to what all the backers wanted - a 2D IE style game. Stop trying to ruin that. We've already seen what happens in the end aka Dragon age 2 / DAI / Console Ports / Dumbed Down / **** 3D RPGs.
  17. But without those super engagement deflection tanks, your party reeeps in seconds on Potd.
  18. Because it felt horrible to play compared to any other 3D RPG. And compared to the previous IE games, it felt like a constipated turd to play.
  19. It says though that pilgrim crowns are rare in the Drywood. All I found before Defiance bay was 4 of them.
  20. And I'm still all out of pilgrims crowns after adding fine to my named weapons.
  21. After a few play through Potd is too easy too. Oh well, wait ... Its hard if you force yourself to use the gimpy terrible in game NPCs instead of a full custom group.
  22. I'll have to look up that IE mod. I currently swapped to 2 fighters, 2 palys, wizard and priest. Double Zealous auras and wayfarer heals / buffs are lulz.
  23. I fully explore every area and make sure I kill everything and loot every container and plant.
  24. As I already mentioned, focus on implements for wizards for blast. Much better. One of my favorite wizard spells is the level 3 equivilent of melfs minute meteors, and since it swaps its element every time the elements passives would be weak. Also all the good wizard spells are all over with different elements ... Chill fog, fireball, noxious thing.
