Well given that Bruce was referring to Anti-Western and pro-Russian. Also "masters crap", heh, referring to the government - the guys that rule over you, remember ? So.. Russia, North Korea, Iran and many other good guys from Middle east and Africa etc. Great company, but my feelings about said company aside, what we have is basically the developed/richer countries vs the undeveloped/poorer guys?

@Malc, it is a simple question, I know that one of the sides is some 30 countries from the developed world, which are located west of Russia. What is the other side? (see, I didn't brought up the masters crap) @Sarex, yes a bare link is better than making fun of yourself by stating what in your oppion it proves, btw didn't someone recently mentioned confirmation bias?

Amazingly people in Western countries are allowed to think differently than what their masters think, no ? I don't know why you can call one side narrative and the other is truth, given the penchant of both for lying through their teeth. Both? care to elaborate who are the two sides in this argument..

Overland travel map question
Mor replied to Lord_Darkmoon's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
It looks a 3D game with a continues world map... I don't see how or why they should create something like which doesn't seem like it plays to the game technical and artistic strength. IMO everything here looks far better: http://www.mikeschley.com/128067/1267784/maps/fantasy-overland-maps http://www.mikeschley.com/128067/1267839/maps/fictional-city-maps Even something overly cartoon-ish like that looks better to me: -
Realistically its almost certainly the later. While it can help to get them the extra polish they might want for their spotlight project, they aren't likely to make big changes to their plans\deadline this far in development. As far as I am concerned this is great news, it shows that devs can make money doing old school RPGs, money which will fund further projects like the PE expansion, which is IMHO is great because to me the kickstarter was a kick start, not a funding method for every project they'll be working on.

I assumed everyone did.. you got your equipment(slots), your pack(s) that you carry on your back as you venture forth(depends on your strength/might) and the stuff you stash along the way and pick up on your way back and can access only in rest points. http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Inventory The last bit isn't too realistic, but IMO it offer a. good gameplay and b. probably says something about the game loot system. If you can take everything back, it is not likely that we will see endless drops of meaningless loot, it would probably be more emphasis on gold and more unique items. (which hopefully will be effected by some non combat skills)

walking speed outside of combat
Mor replied to Hormalakh's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
it's default, which means it can be toggled on/off. nothing's locked. Slowest? I think that everyone but monks has the same speed, with scouting Mode being the only thing that effect it outside of combat(that and encumbrance unless it was changed, but that effected all party members until the items were sorted out). -
Overland travel map question

"Pro tip" - near the post number there is a little share icon (one circle contented to two others) clicking on it will give the direct link to that post. -
I don't think any of the goals can measured e.g. 15 levels mega-dungon can be as big as 15 games or 15 rooms. In this case its about level of polish, the more time you have to work on a piece the better it will get. For example take a look at xenonauts work tracker, Polish is about similar tweaks and unless you are on the team you aren't going to be able to track it, so you'll have to trust the good ol' formula i.e. more time = more polish = more quality.

More respect? This why I tend to associate US gun owners with gun nut red necks. Even though I respect the right of gun enthusiasts worldwide to own gun and enjoy their hobby. Guns don't give you respect, unless you mean the same kind of "respect" that you get in gang neighborhoods ... The only guy there that deserved any kind of respect is the one who tried to defuse the situation and called for people to comply with orders. You want respect go to court and win, you don't get respect by sticking it to "the men" crying aggressors, because the government don't give a **** and "the men" you stick it to is a regular joe's like you with a very hard job to enforce a court decision. Extra points if you understand that your "protest" is meaningless and will change nothing, unless you effect anyone in power to effect court order, which is usually done by generating public outrage, in this case by agitating and escalating the situation to get coverage in the news.. so who needs the actual defending, you or the cops? as for the guys who feel they need to bring guns to the "party"(like that COD kid in second vid with his "rules of engagement"), you can chant second amendment all you want, but to me you are the same gun nuts like the ones you generally see in in middle eastern countries minus the shooting in the air and chanting Alah akbar.

I am not certain what you mean by "Westernised minds". Quality of life index are very simple measuring things such life expectancy, education, purchase power, health care, safety etc... It doesn't presume to speak about urbanized environments or capitalism/socialism in fact many EU urbanish socialist countries are at the top of that list(e.g. Sweden) and for example the UN Human Development Index was developed by Indian guy. Anyway unless you have any alternative Western or "non western" ranking system that quantify quality of life that we can measure up, that has drastically different results, what you suggest just is PC blank statement that does nothing but reinforce those here who already know that their way is best way. Confirmation bias well speaking of confirmations, everything I said (i.e. Russia nationalization and consolidation of major mass media, providing guidelines on content, being at the top of censorship list and at the bottom of freedom of press lists, and the government pursuing various charges against prominent critic of government and Putin in particular) all of it can be confirmed by readily available data. While what you assert is nothing but you opinion, either based on "research" (selective examples that you try to pass as inductive of the rule) or as non-quantifiable/ambiguous assertions in which we can easily substituted Russia with China, North Korea or Nicaragua to prove whatever. That is a nice generic statement I agree with, only it has nothing todo with topic. No one insist let alone suggested that everything is fine with our system or that there isn't anything to improve etc, but then again "our system" isn't exactly the topic here, and all that psychobabble jazz you are shoveling is nothing but a consistent attempts to deflect from the critical thinking and criticism of the topic at hand, with generic vague finger pointing that serve nothing but reinforce your beliefs. The ranking system was brought up not to validate our beliefs, but to provide you with the data to question yours, because all that vague farce about west this and west that is really annoying... Well some of the posters\topics tend to repeat and overlap (like the one above, which tracks back to the first thread), its pointless\hard to track the meaningless arguments, which is why I refer to "you guys". I guess it sometime sips into quick replies..

I didn't said he did, only noted that the only thing laughable in that comparison was placing Russian media on the same footing with "westren" media (westren as in the generic term that some of you guys have been lumping us into). No system is perfect, which is why using several sources on controversial subjects is advisable, especially during time of rapidly developing crisis where major outlets may not have established reportage teams (I sometime check aljazera as well), but bottom line it is important to keep things in perspective.
-
And BBC and CNN have a track record of unbiased journalism. LOL LOL what?! Many people find that the media either emphasizing trivial [to them] stuff or being flat-out biased [in their POV]. This is true of local media and outside coverage of local events, especially for people who never consumed news from other media outlet and get their first bath of fire during time of crisis. With that said we still can find a diverse media reportage from a cross the map, which is polarized in our countries and across the "westren" world. So what are you suggesting? that every outlet in the USA is biased (from CNN to FOX news), in the UK (from BBC to dailymail?), France, Germany.... Sweden, Finland. So to you everyone out there are biased in their reportage, hiding the truth and only Russia who tuned in to Putin daily national news gets it right? Russia who gets direction and quotas on what to broadcast from the Kremlin, who featured at the top of censorship list and bottom of freedom of press, they are the only one who present diverse opinion from across the map to help you decide? the only one who got the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you Putin? If so then I guess you are special in that way and it explains why you guys put so much into "conspiracy theories", because in the land of censorship some ideas can only be shared through non mainstream media.(unlike here where every fart get its 5minutes of fame)

Not exactly "Lab-grown vaginas". It might be the first step for vaginas, but i believe we already had couple of article of similar reconstructive surgery used on patience of facial trauma.

Only that's not at all what's being suggested in this thread. I'm curious, why do people insist on putting stock on what official and mainstream sources say, by default, without any sort of critical review or personal fact checking, when said sources have been known to stretch the truth, misrepresent, make mistakes and outright lie in the past. I suspect this is related to the theorised innate psychological vulnerability of people to authority figures, but there has to be more to it than that. Because you seem to lack any "critical review or personal fact checking" leaning on official and mainstream Russian nationalized news, which has proven track record of completely slanted propaganda reportage according to a script provided by the Kremlin. While dismissing every other source as biased. You guys are like a religious people on an atheist board, who suffer from major cognitive dissonance and lacking any proof to validate their system of belief they lash at foundations of the "other side" trying to diminish it or de-legitimize it so they can feel like they are both on similar footing. Similarly here, you started by attacking the "west", the "western media", trying to claim that Russian nationalized state media instead of providing one sided regulated POV is more open and diverse then the media across the "westren" world. Then you tried to deflect from Russian actions with apple and orange scenarios (which to you feel the same), trying to blame the west for the situation, legitimize it by claiming that its better off this way, had a little streak of Russian super power national hard on, and defaulting to internet conspiracy crap. Because :/ I suppose you feel that if you can google some crap to support your argument your are still in the game or by dismiss this whole thing is our mental issues due to some aversion from authority figures it sits well with you or something of the sort ..

I'd go further and say that coup is a little strong word for something that looks like it was uploaded an written by some COD kid. I don't know, but it is reference to Euromaiden and the thread is missing the oby warning image.

Actually it is exactly "Kim Jong Un" style (or soviet) vote, starting with the one sided propaganda media coverage, armed troops to help and direct things on the ground, taking control of means of resistance, means of communications and closed parliamentary blitz under watch from armed who escorted those who isn't with program and with exactly the same styled observers that stamped approval on Kim Jong elections. Go propaganda go. US people, funny, when I argue about US\NATO misguided interventions to "save the world" bestowing democracy on the misguided I am either anti US or anti imperialist, but when I argue against Russia pure aggressive imperialist actionS, I am US people hmm :/ what are you the loud guy who never vote? Speaking of Russian, I seen this amusing video of Russian Ambassadors to meet Vladimir Putin's objectives on Ukraine within UN. Uhh Bidlo. You guys can skip their chatter between the start and 3:00

This looks like Xcom with different landing craft, sound track and way too many team members..

It goes farther than that, according to Swedish chief counter-intelligence Russia stepped up its intelligence gathering in the country. link If war is absolutely out of the question, doesn't that makes economy into one of the greatest weapons of soft power in an attrition war, because it what allows you to maintain your edge by outdoing everything your competition does. huh? I think you missed his point, which followed on the foot steps of this post(underlining a very basic concept). Otherwise I have no idea what you are talking about, this is not an either or scenario military spending both acquisition and training are usually measured as percentage of GDP, thus bigger GDP more military spending e.g. since energy prices skyrocket Russian income, they was able to upgrade their both poorly equipped and trained army. You confuse interesting with yet more conspiracy theories, but for the sake of the argument, care to explain to me in what way Russia banking system is different from that in the EU, so that any of that doesn't apply to it? Either you suggesting that Russia is more stable than that of US or lashing out against this section of the previous post, comparing Russia to the UAE: You might want to check Medvedev economic agenda and overall Russia economic policy in regard to its dependency on energy sector and prediction for its economy, which basically support what we said many times before.

I like the idea, even though after playing 'Dawn of War II', I have hard time to imagine how Ja-styled game can top that :/ In either case you are little late to the party, Slitherine already working on that. They made Panzer corps 2 a good ww2 game, but I am not sure if something like that would work for me with wh40 .

IMHO the definition in this case is based on national pride, many of them feel aggrieved by the "west" and see recent action by Putin as a tipping point in their former struggle and return to soviet "glory". Which is why you can see so many post trying to diminish any aspects of power in which Russia lack. (or why I find this argument completely pointless ego stroke, call Russia a great power or super power, who cares?! it doesn't change the facts of their life or our preconception of Russia's true source of brute "power") I have a Deja vu, in terms of quality of life Russia is quantitatively far bellow the US and EU. If you disagree feel free look it up. Good luck here, in my experience most Russians see their economy in terms of black and white with Boris yeltsin as the great destroyer, who sold out the country to "westren" interest and Oligarchs, the source of all evil crime corruption etc. While Putin being the great savior whose election magically brought change and fixed the economy. It is pointless explaining that Soviet economy was in a decline for a long time (their excursion into Afghanistan only aggravated the problem), that drastic economic reforms take time to implement and always are painful in the short term, that actually that instability actually what strengthen Russia economy and the federal government in the long run, that late 90s reform already put the economy on track to its 7% growth, which Putin inherited. That Putin during his first term continued the same Market reform that Yeltsin started. The problem you mention started with his ~second term with rise of oil prices and influx of income, he stopped "wasting" money on optimizing the economy and started consolidating power by "browbeating" his opponents and nationalizing major enterprises. iirc by the end of his second term the economy growth was already on a decline and "his" "amazing" achievement of maintaining the same growth rate he inherited if going by other former soviet countries since 90s, wasn't that impressive, especially when you consider Russia potential and huge natural resource reserves.
