AAR of Olaf, my Norse Viking clan leader!
Don't you dare give him an English name! Olaf þrumurhnefa, if you want it in rusty Iclandic.. or how about Olaf Hrymjaskjoldr (Thundershield) for some cool old Norse (more correct and also a historical name). þ is basically Th if memory serves me right. Edit: Found this baby English to Old norse dictionary.

Save the date
Yeah that was the exact discussion that gave me goosebumps .. Questioning why I choose to continuously be the cause of all this death and then when she knows what is coming, accepting fate.. That was seriously a ****ing well written moment, I was in awe. The Groundhog Day reference was spot on.

Developers, Kickstarter & My Future 5 Year Gaming Budget
With electronics I've generally find that a good trick is to buy it cheap when a new gen. is launched.. So the new Radeon 6000 series launches and you can suddenly get the best of the 5000 series very cheap. Sometimes even for 1/3 of the price if you're willing to risk used.

True Communism
More and more hereditary diseases, weak hearts, bad eyesight, rising infertility etc .. The human race is not really adapting that well as it stands. Perhaps we should remove competition and start planning our own evolution.

Save the date
"You didn't even get to the date.. and it still ended in disaster." Tough game.. Well, that was my fault, I tried to go all clairvoyant on her. This is a great game.. Especially when it breaks the 4th wall so to speak.. Thanks Alan. And it actually gave me goosebumps.. I'm officially impressed.

Games we obsess over
I was lucky enough to have big group of friends who had similar tastes - we played CS, Duke Nukem and other shooters alot too, but I was obsessed with AVP precisely because of the extremely varied races. We had a system of dividing the players into 60% Marines, 10% Predators and 30% Aliens - that usually made it pretty interesting for all races. I was almost always Predator.. I think there are still some clans playing - if you want a Renaissance.

Games we obsess over
Obsessive wise I'm actually more of a strategy gamer. RPGs I play through 1-2 times and love 'em, but I hardly ever replay an RPG more than that. Civ II+III Alpha Centauri (I honestly think I might've played it for almost 1000 hours, it's my most replayed game) Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (MP) Alien Vs Predator 2 (MP) Unreal Tournament 1999 (MP) Medieval Total War (1 and 2) Empire Total War (my second most played game, 497 hours sunk into it - most of which in the mod Imperial Splendour, playing as Denmark haha) Europa Universals III and Rome Baldurs Gate II Freespace Series A game I wish was on the list is X³, I could never obsess about it though..

What are you playing now?
By turn 30 I could see that I had already won.. Sure some of the other factions are out researching me, but I can spam units at such frighteningly efficient speeds that I just trample whoever dares to declare war. Now I'm hanging back and waiting to see if the research gap is going to make the game more fun.

Pictures of your games part 2
But still, it's kinda fun to think that a game which required a rather bulky machine to run not 10 years ago can now run on a small handheld device.

What you did today
Met perfect girl - hook up with said girl and have a blast.. Find out today that perfect girl has decided to move to another continent (indefinitely).. Now happy that we had a great time and sad that we can't repeat it. Hmmm.. Guess it's not really my day today.

Well, in my experience everyone are multifaceted and can be *****s or charmers, it's just that some are really good at timing.

What you did today
Yeah Bruce, it's not something that's gonna screw up my life, just a delay.. It's annoying sure, but I generally never get angry about things like that, it only tends to make it worse anyway. The self-entitlement is strong in some of my co students as well. They are usually what we call "curling-kids", where parents have worked way too hard to make their life as smooth as possible, so when they meet any obstacle they just collapse with stress and go bat-****-crazy and start blaming everyone around them.. Interestingly I've found that staying humble is actually incredibly useful, people will go out of their way to help you if you simply start off charmingly thanking them and excusing for causing an inconvenience. I've gotten out of many a scratch (and extended many a deadline), simply by honestly apologizing and acknowledging the disposition. of course the trick is to not abuse it..

What you did today
As Dylan Moran so correctly pointed out, we often judge a night's success based on how badly we were injured. Today I overslept and missed a rather important appointment, which could end up having a bad ripple effect on my education as a whole. I hope it won't go that way, but I also accept the possibility (and responsibility) for it ****ing up. It means I miss an exam, which - if I don't get it fixed - might cause problems for the next semester, which might postpone my degree. You live you learn..
