  1. Wonder if these will influence achievements, i.e. can we use them and still get Triple Crown when it gets added?
  2. Eh? It seems more like a continuation of the have-high-resolve-to-progress problem they created in POE1. You only want the mace. You don't need it.
  3. Thank you for letting me know! I'm not sure if it's related or not, but I can create characters specifically and only in Port Majae who do not have this issue, however they always start at level 4 for regardless of what I pick (even level 1) meaning they're instead a few power levels (and ability/skill points behind). Just wanted to point that out.
  4. My multiclass custom characters created outside of Port Majae (Nekahaka) also can't choose skills from their new powerlevel upon unlocking it, resulting generally in a waste of two points.
  5. Welcome to the wonderful world of gaming. That's just the way it is. If you don't want to be disappointed you shouldn't preorder or buy games on release. That's absurd. Why should I expect a game to be broken on release? Buggy is one thing, but I can't play at all. Yeah, it's kind of bad. I can play, but there's always something... have to alt tab constantly to fix FPS bug, my custom character wastes 2 points every power level increase, etc... Almost reminds me of Kingdom Come Deliverance, sigh. I had to almost wait a month (and like 6 patches) before I could play it, and even then a third of the quests still bugged out uncompleted for me lol. I'm sure it'll get better with time but it's painfully obvious this game needed another three months in the oven at the very least. And I feel this is rather common situation for most developers out there - not only for the Obsidian. They all are so eager to release a product, despite not being realy finished yet. Of course some minor bugs are always possible to occur even with best prepared release. But it seems, we have pleanty of issues here, and some of them are not so minor too. Good thing I bought recently both DLCs for PoE1, so I have pleanty of hours to play in the firs part of the game still . I guess I'll wait with Deadfire till it will become patched enough to run smooth and stable. Don't take me wrong. I love PoE1, and I suppose I will at least like Deadfire too. And I do appreciate Obsidian's work. I just want to wait with my proper gameplay till most of the current issues will be fixed. I'd wait too, and will probably take breaks for any game coming out to give them time if I somehow don't beat it by then (Moonlighter, Agony). I don't mind a few bugs here and there, but this is on top-tier level.

  7. Not sure if it also affects normal characters, as mine are currently fine, but my one custom character, a paladin/chanter, when she hits power level 2 (tested on multiple creations of the same character) she is stuck choosing from power level 1 tier, resulting in a waste of 2 points. On the NEXT level she is able to select skills from the previously earned power level.
  8. A bit bummed out it's an axe instead of the sword as originally listed, but otherwise restarting Steam worked and I got all of my items.
  9. You have to restart Steam, same as any other preload. Or wait, Steam will automatically refresh eventually.
  10. Well, if not, you could have used DOS2 as well. I don't think DOS 2 is overrated honestly, good but overrated especailly as a single player game. It also is honestly nothing like the games that's I'd suggest after it (The IE games) and is more like ultima etc....So do you think it’s overrated or not? It's a really great Coop experiance, and an average single player RPG at best. eitherway not 94/100 game. Of course this is just my opinion. EDIT: OPS I just reread my comment I wrote "don't" instead of "do". sorry my bad. I fully respect your opinion, but I think it's just a different kind of game. Larian wasn't looking out to make another IE game (turn based, for example) and they have very unique features in their game that are decent departures from IE games. So it's maybe just not your cup of tea. In all honesty, the game plays much better as an RPG solo, as you get to experience a full party of your own making including companions (very well written ones in DOS2!) and make all the important story decisions yourself. Even the ending of the game forced the "coop" partners to either magically agree on a very important moral choice or fight over who gets to basically capstone a 80+ hour story. Imagine if you liked RPing a chivalrous knight and your friend went around just killing people and being a jerk and stealing dialogue choices from you to piss off people you liked? So while it's definitely a really fun coop experience it's only really true if that's all you use it for, because as a story-based RPG where you care about the story it was really difficult for me to play with friends (and brothers). Became a lot easier when I had my own save that I actually cared for.. then the one we played together where I didn't give a **** what happened. Anyway, both Divinity Original Sin games are fully deserving of their praise imo. I backed both, I backed both Pillars, and I backed both Wasteland games so... I'm invested, I guess, in seeing any and all forms of these RPGs sprout up.
  11. Yeah, it's more about timing of when you get those abilities (very end of the game, early game) and how you use them up towards the end.
  12. Even if you don't know of them there's a damn good chance you heard (of) them, ahah! Because. They. Are. Everywhere. Seriously, I heard samples of their voices in character select and inappropriate things happened. Whoever at Obsidian decided to make this happens need a beer and a raise, as do all of Critical Role for being awesome and hopping on. You can use some of their voices during character creation too (I have it at the timestamp when he goes through them): https://youtu.be/p2xvCdm5S68?t=7m59s
  13. We pretty much have the full spell list now, so if you looked a the list from Cohh's video and it's not there then it's not there.
  14. / Pfft. I'm going in PoTD blind first run, balance be damned. That's what I did in Pillars, that's what I regretted wholeheartedly, that's what I beat the game on the first time anyway. Using blood and tears as a lube for an after-game victory jerk is its own special reward. Once they fix it I'll probably work on stuff like triple crown and solo/duo runs with powerful builds to try against the tuned difficulty. I actually want to 100% the achievements for this.
  15. Oi, why u no want vacation to ze islands, eh? Tsk tsk. We not good enough for you, I see. Your mother would be ashamed. :C
  16. I'd imagine that classes would probably be one of the easiest things to mod, and from what I understand modding is a bit easier to do as the game has made strides towards allowing it. No one will really know until after release though, but I think you're in a good spot if this is what you want. The only thing stopping it is if companions are somehow super uniquely coded in regards to classes, which is doubtful as they use the same classes and combinations as we do.
  17. It might be, but that combo wouldn't come online until level 16, and I suspect without iron wheel the armor from bear form isn't going to be enough to reduce damage down by 50%+ to offset the increased damage taken. Typically these games (particularly on the highest difficulty settings) are hardest at the beginning of the game, which is when this combo would be at it's most vulnerable. By the time you get to 16+ you are likely going to be steamrolling enemies with any decent build. Combos that are reliant on abilities that you have to wait 3/4 of the game to get don't seem worth it to me, but YMMV. Something a lot of people forget. Even in PoE Chanters and Wizard were all a bit iffy till level 9 (then became gods). Reminds of NWN when people would theorycraft Drow (level penalty) perfect DW builds that need 25 dex to work but were total garbage till then. It just reminds me of DnD styled games (digital and paper both) in general, which is probably where they took inspiration from in PoE's wizards. They generally were dead weight early on then became uncaring deities that leveled battlefields whenever their party managed to earn the privilege of their fickle attention.
  18. How did that feel? I'm thinking of trying this, as I think the flavor (magical energy slinging sword swinging melee mage) is really interesting, and I'd still at least have one weapon for soulbound/enchant. I wanted to do a melee cipher, but not a big fan of it just being a SA spammer so I've been mulling over trying something else.
  19. I'm thinking of maybe meleeing a ranger, I generally play melee mages and melee pet classes.... you know, the two that always suck or don't exist viably. Not happy how cipher is blending with melee here (just a powerbattery) so leaning closer towards ranger/x... maybe fighter or barb. I briefly looked at monk and druid too, which are options on the table. I'm really just not sure any more. Funny cause the rest of my team is good to go but my MC... still not sure. Seeing Cohh breeze through PotD though, I might just say **** it and wing a random melee ranger, tears and all, and see how it turns out.
  20. I just want to pop in and thank you all for your hard work. I love this game and I love goodies but I don't have the time or patience to mess with all this, lol.
  21. Like they said, there's an easy to use program that's been around forever that lets you get as many (or even remove) achievements as you want. Use it just for that single achievement if you want or for all of them and lie about it - no one cares. People mostly use it to have an easy way to idle on multiple games and farm card drops.
  22. I thought it was based on damage, so slower, harder hitting weapons gave you more focus per bite.
  23. I'm working on a melee cipher too since all the cool kids want to use guns (stop school violence!) and I can't make a melee pet class (why would you butcher the traditionally melee-able ranger, I'll never know). My philosophy is that I want to strike quick and hard, using my spells as a proactive defense since we get a lot of debuffs we can use freely without worry of hitting our allies. My particular build is going to use reach weapons (spears, ect) and play like a skirmisher. I will prefer clothing so my spellcasting and auto attacks are as quick as possible, but I'm keeping a set of armor around for some tougher encounters.
  24. Man, I love doing stuff like this myself though usually I go with established character names. Still, it warms my heart to see people give care to their names and as a result love to their characters. Tired of seeing "Loordawesome333" as a character name. >.> Granted, really only though it was an MMO thing but then I see people doing it in videos for dragon age inquisition and ect and I'm like... what?
