i wish we coudl get DS tatoos once you start going down teh Dark Path DAMNIT!
-
I agree in part: however, Luke only used choke to the point that the Gamorrean guards backed off; at no time did he bust out the Force Lightning. I think Lucas intended that when the powers are intentionally used to kill/harm...that's dark side. It could be in how the powers are used. I also think it might be a good idea to create a penalty for LS characters for taking DS powers. In the first game, it just cost more Force Points. I'd also like to see you pick up DS points if you use a power like Force Drain or Plague or such powers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yes I agree with that, but still a telekenis or special fighting styule for lightside players especialy guardians should be employed for the lightside players that do not want to use DS powers but want a higher level of action in their game play. EDIT: and like i said a light side COnsular would not be very strong if he did not have other Jedi in the party, and since in this game i doubt three other JEdi will be in your party...
-
yes.. teh prestige classes give you special abilites and techiniques that other classes can not do. What is very intersting is that since you have the different classes then DS and LS will be more defined in this game. WHat i mean is, to be a sith assasin, you must obviously be in cahoots with a sith academy or base. In the first game you were a Jedi guardian, consular, or sentinal who turned to teh darkside but was taught at a JEdi academy. Perhaps in this game you will be able to go to a Jedi OR sith base and take a special training course where you chose to advance to a specified prestige class. That woudl offer a much deeper rift between LS and DS that teh first game lacked

but i do see your point, whats the poitn of having a lightside power taht does damage? it might as well be universal then liek whirl wind... well the point is Jedi Consulars who use the force as there defense may need it to becoem a greater method of attack. and maybe guardians woudl ahve a light side power where they go into a meditaive stateand they can flip hop and jump liek yoda against coutn Dooku
-
That's pretty much the purpose of lightside powers: They are by and large curative and defensive. I expect we will see something like the following: Force Regeneration: Allows you to regenerate HP Force Revive: Revives a NPC with full or partial health. Force Absorb/Repel: Allows you to absorb or repel certain DS powers. Light side powers cannot harm another living being directly. (but they can harm droids) So obviously the LS powers will seem a bit weak at first examination. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But surely using telekensis and picking an opponent up and flinging him towards you wouldint really be harminng him, even if you throw him to a wall, its kinda the wall or floor hurting him not the force; The force woudl not really be draingn life out of him or crushing or choking or killing him. Its a loophole
-
DOnt get me wrong im not asking for a power such as CRUSH or KiIL, but something like throw, where u pick up your opponents throw his body against a wall adn tehn back to the ground and then throw him toawrds you so you can attack him with your lightsaber
-
Thats tru stasis was a good power, but to a Jedi must attack soemtime when teh galaxy is depending on it. " I can't do it Ben, I Can't kill my own Father!" "Then I am afraid the Emporer has already won" Obviously when fighting dark jedi and sith an attack is important to keep teh peace
-
Was it just me or did anyone think the lightside powers were weak, they were too defensive, and although the Jedi are defensive by nature, I thought therei shoudl be more offensive lightside skills that were jsut as cool and damaging as the Darkside powers and Exclusive to light Jedi. When they released the SAMPLE of the New force powers they didnt show any new Light Side Powers. Are there any neat and deadly light side powers in the star wars Universe worth putting in the game?

The ability to name lightsabers

What woudl be better than naming, is picking the style of your lightsaber handel, the length and intensity of the beam.! -
Is this forum really functional at this point?

New KOTOR EVERY YEAr and a half.. SOunds liek a plan! they woudl have to have two teams working simultaneously adn collaborating together constantly, but it could work and would be well appreciated!! -
Only difference in design is the logo at top <{POST_SNAPBACK}> SIth lords has 46,000 posts in Genral discussion NWNs has about 15,000 total. More power to the KOTOR!!! WOO HOO

What if in Kotor 3 Revan was your master and your new character was teh apprentice, either that or it shoudl take a couple hundred years past the first two and have a classic scrollign intro explaining what happened since the first two games. In other words it should and MUST be connected to teh first 2 for it to be an ongoing saga that will keep pulling players back.

Final villian is it Revan?
Influence replied to Master Cypher's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
i TRULY hope that is not teh case, If it is the case the writng would suck, we need writing that gets the player immeressed in teh Universe and connected to the characters and their affilates whetehr it be the sith or Jedi. And if the Makers set a precedent of killing off main characters, players will not have the same drive to keep going back to buying the next installment, since they cannot follow the storyline through all the games since they are not nicely connected. I would liek it if in KOTOR 3 You were the apprentice of Revan. That would offer soem connection to your previous character. At teh start of the game youcoudl chose through dialogoue if your master was lS or DS and the game woudl progress from there. But teh poin tis killing Revan off and cutting ties like that after all we did in the first game would turn off some of the players. -
PLEASE NO KOTNR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THis will set a precedent for only two games per era!!!!!! Not a good idea At LEAST one more KOTOR and then play it from their, Perhaps two more that tie together like the first two. There Is still so much they can write about teh old republic it would be a shame to skip that whole time period. They should have Like 5 or 6 KOTORs and then 5 or six KOTNR and then you would have a huge catalog of star wars games that can catalogogue the entire republican history and could be seen as the authority on Star Wars history. THis is all assuming they keep the quality of the games

KOTOR 3 shoudl not take place any less than 2000 years before episode I. But I think that after KOTOR 2 it may be tiem to start a new series depending on how they tied up teh story line Maybe you are a descendant of Revan or something like that. It REALLY SHOULD be SOMEHOW loosely connected to the old one but with a brand new plot and completely new set of characters , adventures, and should be loosely based off of pre-existing information, but be original at teh same time Something of great importance, must have Jedi of Course, maybe an OPTION to pick an apprentice. And Alos, i think a modified 20 level system would be good. YOu can tell this will be a great game if we are already talking about what we want in the third installment even before the second one comes out.

look at teh difference in posts between NWN and KOTOR 2.. its staggering, if KOTOR is as succcesfull as i hope and know it will be, this should be their main game.

Bastila Shan vs Anakin Skywalker
Influence replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Ep three is goann be different it will be teh best of teh prequiels, and the darkest, you will see soem hardcore Anakin fighitng and see him at his true potential -
I just started a game with a sentinal, he uses two sabers which is the first time i have doen that, but to be honest the down side is sure, sentinals get more skill points , but skill points are pretty damn boring if you ask me, why should i have high skill points when i can jsut have mission pick locks FOR me. You would think a sentinal would be the best class considering it stikes a balance between guardian and consular, like a Yoda, but it really doesn't. You have low feat progression, and you should haver a higher force power progression than a guardian, but its all kinda pointless. I prefer a guardian myself over sentinal anyday, but its gonna be even better with the new sub classes.

***UNOFFICAL KOTOR 2 : THE SITH LORDS FAQ***
Influence replied to Gromnir's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
if you are allowed to take an apprentice you shoudl be able to train your apprentice in a trianing room, whetehr on a world or have one built on teh EBON hawk, and teach them speed and skills and stuff Iif you dont have an apprentice it woudl still be cool to spar against other members of your party and maybe gain/learn some extra skills/feats ,stuff or exp on the way. -

I am under impression that New Jedi acted better during very brutal and bloody Yuuzhan War than old ones in Clone Wars (just look how many jedi died on Geonosis and in following battles) - besides Force is in balance after Endor so Jedi surely didn't have such problems as 50 years ago. Since I avoid spoilers I can't say anything about EIII but I feel that Chosen One will be explained further - for now it is unclear enough to me, to use it as an argument. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmmm i see your point but it cant be expected that they were stronger than YODA or MACE, considering that Luek did not even have proper training by yoda and luke was not very skilled or wise for tyaht matter. There fore yoda was unable to teach Luek everythign meaning Luke COuld not teach his students many thinkg that the Jedi of teh LCone wars knew. ALl this is kinda depressing when you realize teh Jedi will never reach the point they were once at and so much knowledge was lost. -

Bastila Shan vs Anakin Skywalker

Then crucial duels like final fight with Malak or Bastila-Revan duel in the temple shouldn't be discussed at all, and yet they are discussed and people use them in their arguments. I said that Malak and Dooku were on the same level of lightsaber fight (probably) becouse of Dooku's old age! Younger Dooku would probably finish Bastila, Revan, Malak, Yoda, Anakin, Mace and generally everyone. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> NO coem on man, Your saying Dooki coudl beat Yoda if he was younger? They tied and Yoda is OLder than Dooku. Yoda only lived for a few more decades while Dooku could have lived for many more years. EDIT: Not to mention since Yoda was 900 years old.. a few more decades was practically nothing! -

Yeah but its all relative, becasue of teh differences between the flow of the force so if Dooku had been around 4000 years ago maybe the force woudl have flown through him stronger as well. EDIT: PLus its nto a FACT dooku woudl be a grunt.
