You make good points and you WOULD be right about with ten more levels, every character would be the same if it wasnt for the three new prestige classes and the new force powers and feats, the ten levels would be implemted so that it would keep the same customability as there was in the first game. Other wise some chars would not be able to take advantage of the almost neccessary force powers of the game, such as force sight. If you a were a LS jedi guardian, you have a very slow forcce power progression and if they used the same force power system, then a LS charactar would only be able to use about 5 force powers out of say, 40. IMPORTANT:Are you with me up to know? cause here is where i make my point. Assuming you are a light side Jedi guardian, it is inevitable, if you want to beat the game, for you to pick force powers that increase your saber abilities such as Master Speed, Heal, and another force power that will increase your defense or offense such as force Aurora. Choosing those powers are pretty much inevitable if you want to create a formidable character. That will leave you with about 1 or 2 force powers to choose from a list of 30. Meaning that all Jedi Guardians will be virtually the same except for 1 or 2 Force powers since with the current leveling/force system thats all you really get. THerefore your argument about more levels destroying the individuality of each character is incorrect. Because in Truth, more levels would allow for more force powers to be chosen from the large variety of powers increasign the customability of the charactar. IMPORANT: I personnally enjoy the 20 level system, i think that going beyond 20 levels is kinda of wierd since you were practically a jedi master in the last game and at level 20. If the first game had been a 30 level system then i woudl say a 30 level system in THIS game would also be good. I just think the sudden switch up within the series would be bad. But i do NOT think that the game shoudl not go over 20 levels because of the D20 system. It should NOT go over 20 levels because KOTOR did not go over 20 levels. HOWEVER: I REALLY REALLY REALLLy think that an adjustment MUST be made to the 20 level system. To incorporate more Force powers to increase the individuality of characters and to let us make use of the new force powers as well as the neccessary ones like master speed and Heal.

ok good job! :D

Where are the jedi hiding? and will they return?
Influence replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
maybe they are WAITIGN hoping teh sith kill eahcother off, lets face it their numbers were severly decreased and if they banned togehter whiel they were weak the SIth would overpower them. -
SRy i cant read this.. im illiterate

THe point is ur statement aobut DS beign all FOrce power and LS being all saber is very wrong.. sweetie :D I still think telekenis of pushing and pulling troops woudl be good, i say get rid of force wave and replace it with forcemanipulation in which teh character throws teh bodys jsut liek in force wave but then puills them towards him, so you dont have to go runnign after teh poepl u jsut knokced down. THe bodys shoudl come flying to ur feets so you can attack them. That coudl be a universal power.
-
Not true, Dooku is jsut as good with a saber as yoda, Darth maul wielded a saber adn not to many force powers, and yoda is jsut as good in force powers as Dooku was. Hutt i think i won this point you can agree with me theres no shame in it.
-
Right because the guardian has good SABER attacks and is effective in that right, but there should be aggressive FORCE powers as well, not just sabers its more balanced that way and falls inline better with the SW universe. The poitn is its more realistic and more asthetically appeasing to have Light side offensive powers, I played on the LS and liked it but there should be more offensive tricks in KOTOR that Jedi have. This should be so, Becasue thats how the SW UNIVERSE
-
It increases ur attakcs per round, but it does nto increase your attack rating or your damage issuement.

Hutt your missign the point Light JEDI DO NOT USE THEIR POWERS FOR EVIL. BUt they can use the force to DEFEAT dark Jedi Especially Jedi Guardian.I think if in K2 you chose to be a JEdi Master you woudl be able to resist the lure of teh DS and therefull be able to use more advanced and experimental feats not soemthign liek Kill or FUrry, but telekensis in which you through a Dark Jedi to the groudn with the floor and then pull him towards you to figh thim hand to hadn in close quarters combat. This is WELL WIthing the bounds of a Jedi especially the JEDi Guardian who is expected to be offfensive, nto evill, dangerous, and harmful, but if you objective is to defeat your opponent, a Jedi will use offensive powers, now jsut agree with me on this Hutt, If yoda COuld use offensive powers to defeat the sith, our character shoudl be able to use offensive force powers to defeat teh sith, not just force armor. SPeed was a lightside and DS power so its not to be considered Ls... THerefore Ls has very good powers
-
Yes but instead of jsut increasing defesne, it increases offenses so knight speed in addition to the battel trance woudl be schway... And still i think other offensive force powers shoudl be explored now that we established a JEdi can be "offensive" as weel as on teh Light Side and benevolent.

ehh maybe ur right.. but i dont know -
hey calling me lame is defimation of character and or harrasment. I don't see you brigng up any good topics. and BTW TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE SUCKER!! AHaha i havn't heard taht oen in a logn time.. that and "Thats my name don't wear it out"

I and many others woudl buy a cool special edition and it woudl make Obsidian more money. If it had a special case, and many a special features liek a Ep 3. Preview Disc or a poster then id be willing to pay 10-15dollars for the preorder.
-
OK, but you could preorder it at like, Bestbuy or something and then pick it up at the store, you just give them 10 bucks and your name. an dthey hadn u a slip or soemthing.
-
Pretty much your right. Mace had offensive force powers Yoda had offensive force powers, they did not run around and just use force armor and stasis then run away from the fight. If your implying, Hutt and everyoen else, that Yoda could only use his lightsaber to fight, because he did not use offensive "LS force powers" then you are sayinging he is useless and weak without his saber and therefore could not defeat enemies with the force alone, which is Not the case! And i want to use something LIKE vapaad i used it as an example of a LS power that was aggressive.
-
WHirlwidn is universal replace that with drain or KIll
-
STILL THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE RELEASED A SPECIAL EDITION KOTO2 For PRe-ORDERS!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH As you can see it drives me nutso. Its like OBsidian said "We don't want to make more money". To be honest soemtimes special editiotns are gimicky but it worked for Halo 2 and Madden 05. Since it has such a dedicated following being a SW game and all; the idea would have rocked. ANyway, woudl you have paid a 10 dollar pre-order charge if you recieved a special edition KOTOR?
-
To be quite honest.. i had no idea what obsidian was untill i heard that KOTOR 2 was being made by them. Wow GoA agreeing with me? what is the world coming to?
-
You have good points... but tehn your last stement is not neccessarily true. SPeed is a Universal Powers is it not? Master SPeed? ALl im saying is that JEdi Can and DO use offensive powers. Vapaad is an offensive use of the force that is used by LIGHT Jedi... thats teh type of thing im talking about. Jedi guardians are establsihed as aggressive when you take the test on DANtooine hes asaks you if a sith stops in battel wat do you do? and YOu Answer COntinue the attack and defeat him is teh choice for JEDI guardian. Obviously you can be aggressive and STILL be LS!!!!! I jsut want soem aggressive force powers to make the LS more like it woudl be in the novels and movies. And that is, you are not restricted to using aggressive powers (Vapaad, Guardian, characters in Clone Wars Cartoon). But since the KOTOR system DOES desginate between LS powers and DS powers if you are lightside you are penalized for using DS powers. WHich has reasonable in its own right because they may lead to teh DS, but gives the Jedi an unrealistic, according to teh Novels and movie, force disadvantage over the DS. IMPORTANT : IN Ep. 2 Yoda and Dooku were equal in force power attacks. THere fore yoda was able to fight Dooku wihtout hsi lightsaber. In teh KOTOR game it woudl be impossible for a LS consular to Beat a DS consular usign only force powers, since teh LS has NO aggressive ONES! WHile yoda or a Jedi master such as yoda would be able to beat a DS consular using force powers alone! EDIT: Its me vs the world on this Topic AND I LIKE THE ODDS BABY!
-
I DONT WANT TO BE EVIL I JUST WANNA KILL SITH AND LOOK LIEK A POWERFUL AND STRONG JEDI AS I DO IT! ALL I WANT IS SOMETHING LIEK TEH VAPAAD STNACE EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE LIGHT SIDE THATS ALL!
-
I heart Xbox as well. THe PC KOTOR players dont knwo what they are missing holdign that cute little controler in your hadn as u sit on a couch looking at a big screen tv. Something about being on the Xbox playing makes playing the game less formal because if you get bored of playing you can just change the channel maybe. There are a great deal of games that simply play MUCH better on the PC like counter strike or Rogue spear, but this RPG was actaully pretty good on XBOX.

Please make KOTOR 2 longer!
Influence replied to SteveMcCool's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Most of you who said it was too short Miss the Point. If it was 60 hours long the Casual gamer would not want to replay it and would not take advantage of chosing a diffrent path and prestige class. It would take me about 6 months cooldown after beatign a 60 game to have enough drive to replay it. And thats one of the factors they thought about when they made the game. -
Darth Revan vs Darth Vader
Influence replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Just for teh record, if anyoen said bastilia woudl beat anakin and now says that Vader woudl be Revan is a flip-floppin SOB IMO Vader in the Original Trilogy is old and weak compared to his former self. He was beat by his son the PADAWAN who had almost no training relative to most Jedi. Now, Vader as he would be Just after or towards the end of EPisode three would have a chance to beat revan, But other than that, no. Dooku Vs Revan now theres a match, yoda vs Revan is another good one. But Old Vader who lost touch with the force im between ep 3 and 4? No, I dont think so. -
Why does it matter how you kill people as long as you kill them? A light side Jedi can (and usually does) buff himself up with things like Master Valor, Master Speed, and so on. My LS Consular had a lot less trouble killing Malak than my DS Consular -- just buff up and hack him to pieces. Using the Force to make your body into a deadly weapon with which you then kill people is logically equivalent to using the Force as a weapon if your objection is to inflicting harm on others. Unless, of course, the Force doesn't understand motivations -- Master Valor and Master Speed can be (and often are) used for things other than violence while Force Choke and Force Kill have no other purposes. I'd actually be perfectly happy with some more Light Side powers like Force Valor. But only as long as they are actually useful -- for example, Force Armor or whatever that thing was called, was pretty worthless given its duration and effects. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As for teh First part, you are correct with your statement qabout the force having no motivation. I am suggestign force powers that happen to benefit your attack for instance your mind woudl be in a meditative state and your thought prcesses woudl be more acute, you woudl have a faster reaction time, and your body coudl focus on more accurate and powerfull body actions, for both defense and consequencely offensive.
