  1. Svef: Where To Grow It and How To Process It
  2. Man, I'm 109 hours in still at the start of Act III. I don't know how you guy's are doing this!
  3. A one-off animancy experiment whose like a cipher, except instead of a focus pool he has a mana pool that slowly regenerates over time and some unique powers. That would be an awesome companions for PoE 2.
  4. There's been a sudden rash of people stabbing themselves fourteen times with stilettos. Better look into that.
  5. I want more of Eora. I want it bad. This setting is ****ing awesome.
  6. I was asleep, so I'll respond now. I don't get it. I just don't understand how you could think any of the things you apparently think about the companions. I love the companions in this game. I love all their personalities, I love all their little comments and interjections, I love their quests. I wish the were more reactive--that Eder would respond to Durance, etc. But I really do enjoy them, and find the writing amazing and the whole atmosphere of the game improved with their presence.
  7. The 3d lighting effects used for the Magic Missile style spells in this game are quite amazing, really.
  8. How does that work with the whole animal-souls-in-children issue?
  9. Once you factor in all the alternate sourcebooks and expansions and whatnot. PoE hasn't had time for that yet.
  10. I'd say rare but not extremely so. The problem seems to be that claiming to be Watcher is a lot more common then actually *being* one; especially in the rural communities, "I'm a Watcher" is a well-known con game.
  11. I took down the Sky Dragon by exploiting it's ability to fly up and come down on my squishies. I kept my squishies back with *one* tank at a certain point where the path narrowed, and then when it flew up I ran them forward as fast as I could. When it landed my tank engaged it, and I moved my two other tanks up behind it and it was trapped in melee with me. I could then keep my priest and ranged out of way of it's ranged abilities, keep my priest *just* close enough to heal the tanks, and keep it locked on the ground with stun and paralyze spells.
  12. What? Did you not exploit chokepoints in the original IE games? I sure as hell did.
  13. Stronghold turns are based on quest completion. That's kinda crappy. Are there only a limited number of turns in the game, then? If so, are they more than enough to get everything done? Or are there repeatable quests of some sort? I've only just taken Caed Nua, so I'm not very far in the game. You have a lot of time to do stuff. If you're really worried, then just rest in Caed Nua over and over to pass the time while you build it up. Then resume doing quests. Better: Go to Stonewall Gorge prior to the opening of the river. Click the little plate down on the left side of the dungeon opening. It has a "Wait and see" button that you can just click to pass 8 hours, over and over again, as much as you want until Act 3 opens the path and that thing is no longer clickable. Don't have to wait on the sleep screen.
  14. An the enemies do use AoE. Druid enemies will **** you up with lightening storms, priests will interdict, etc.
  15. I sat Sagani in my SH for all of Act 2 and when I pulled her out in Act III, she automatically leveled up to my parties level. Oh really? That's amazing. So companions autolevel to your party while in the stronghold? Awesome. Sure, it's not the most realistic thing ever (though you can explain it via them doing their own questing/training if you choose to do so, which I do), but it's absolutely wonderful from a quality of life perspective. Are you sure this is a thing, though? I could've sworn I'd seen other people talk about having to level up companions that had been sitting in the SH for a while. I know for a fact that this happened to me, because I was so surprised. I was expecting to have to go get XP to level her up, but I didn't; I just had to click the +. I can't speak for anybody elses gameplay experience.
  16. *looks at the literal flood of posts in this forum about all the bugs, game breaking and otherwise, and triple that on the steam forum...* uh, anyone ever tell you you have a very special view on reality before? if not, let me be the first. Do you see 20 or 30 thousand people posting in here about how the game doesn't work? I don't. It's *nothing* like the experience with actually unfinished, buggy, failed launches. If you were there for the VtM:B launch, you'd know the difference.
  17. Yeah I got killed by a group of trolls two or three times because of that exact issue.
  18. I sat Sagani in my SH for all of Act 2 and when I pulled her out in Act III, she automatically leveled up to my parties level.
  19. NWN looked like crap. Crap, I say. It played like crap, too--endless fetch quests. It was a **** game, IMHO, but it was super popular.
  20. Actually, NWN generated much more money than BG for Bioware because of the ability to sell modules, and the fanbase was much large because of the online player community.
  21. Sagani is a good companion, but I must really suck with rangers because for the life of me she's *useless* on bigger fights. I don't think she dealt a single bit of damage to the Sky Dragon, not even *once*.
  22. BG 2 was made in 2000; NWN in 2002 followed closely by KOTOR in 2003, then NWN 2, VtM:B, KOTOR 2, etc. 2003 was also the time that Black Isle closed. It seems to me to have been a self-reinforcing cycle revolving around a lack of 2D games due to closing studios and Bioware trying something new generating a lack of these games, which combined with the success of the 3D RPG's to generate the idea that these games "don't sell".
  23. Becoming a Watcher can literally happen to anybody, at any time. It's rare, but not particularly "special" in that sense.
