  1. The original NWN--without the add-ons, expansions, etc. Just the original NWN. It's crap. It's *REALLY* crap. A series of fetch quests, with a couple FedEx quests thrown in for variety. That's it. That's all it is. There's a lot of great things about that game, but to deny the basic ****tiness of it's plot and quest structure is to deny the fundamental way the game is played. This judgement is only against the single-player campagign, though. I don't do multiplayer, so I don't care about that part of it. As a single-player game, the first, NWN Original Flavor campaign is *crap*.
  2. You want a sequel, not an expansion. An expansion....expands the game. It adds to the game, makes more of the game. It's like turning an naval orange into a larger naval orange. What you are looking for is a grapefruit for your next meal, since you liked the orange so much.
  3. Just like KoTOR 2, Alpha Protocol and Pillars of Eternity. Uh....no. No, not at all. PoE is *nothing* like KOTOR 2 or NWNW 2 for bugginess. KOTOR 2 was *literally* incomplete--it was 3/4 of a game. It was an incomplete beta that LucasArts forced them to ship early. NWN 2 is almost as bad. Alpha Protocol is virtually unplayable. PoE may have had some bugs--every game does--but to compare it to those three games (or to VtM:Bloodlines, which others have said and which isn't even from the same company) is like saying "Well, this pocket knife has a blade, it's just like a greatsword." PoE was a normal, unremarkable launch with no more issues than any other game launch, and with fewer bugs than some AAA title launches I've seen recently.
  4. I'd like to point out that my kitty Viseryn *loves* a good belly rub.
  5. I started NWN 2 to bridge the time till the expansion. Have to say: A splendid experience! What an underrated gem. NWN 2 is much fun. Buggy as hell, but very fun.
  6. I personally didn't like IWD much at all; I focus very much on characters, plot, story, etc. and for me IWD was basically pointless. It wasn't bad for what it was, just that I very clearly wasn't the target audience. BGII and Planescape: Torment are where it's at for me, but I was plying BGII EE in the weeks leading up to PoE's release. So I'm good on that.
  7. Oh, wow, that's amazing. I've never seen anybody do something stupid, get called out on it, and then claim it was just a joke and it's stupid to say anything before. Especially not on the Internet. You must be a genius.
  8. Because he's an evil, crazy bastard who employes evil, crazy people and they all needed to go.
  9. What? The fire isn't actually fire. It doesn't burn anything or cause any harm at all. The metal-looking flesh, too--it's just flesh. The godlike variability are just appearances, it doesn't actually alter what they are.
  10. It's fair, yes. It's completely fair because it was open, honest, completely transparent and involved no lying, cheating, manipulation, concealed intent, or any other kind of unfair advantage. It's a *very* simple and direct deal--"anybody who wishes can do this to receive this. Anybody who does not, won't get it." It's the same as having a copy of PoE I spent 20 bucks on, or the people who got a ****ing guidebook. You can whine all you want about how you don't *like* it, but to say it's unfair that you didn't get the reward given out for a specific activity that was open to all is just self-entitled bull****. If you didn't do that, tough ****. You had the same exposures, the same opportunity, the same theoretical capability as anybody else. You didn't take the action, you didn't get the reward. It's not like a secret cabal of video game developers came up to me one night two and half years ago with a backroom deal for a Steam achievement.
  11. Yeah, would be nice to know how to download the Documentary. Also, when i click on watch the Video opens but when i click on the start button nothing happens. Anyone else has that problem? Pretty sure streaming vs downloading is a function of different tiers.
  12. Your Sawyer-hate is old hat. It's also gotten to such an obsessive and repetitive level that I feel you should really look into it.
  13. Time limits are the worst, most unfun idea you could possibly impose. I *loathe* time limits. I *DESPISE* time limits. I go out of my way to not do time-limited quests and to avoid games that prominently feature time limits.
  14. Again, we can argue all day long about whether the reward is a good or bad idea. I literally don't care about that. Thing is, there's no way to claim it's "unfair". It's *unequal*, but it's perfectly *fair*. Nobody was "prevented" from anything--some people simply didn't do the action which would have resulted in the reward. There was no cheating, there's no violation of any rules, there's no manipulation or concealed intent. There was an action which was made available to all with no limits. Some people took that action, others--for a variety of reasons--did not. Those who took the action received a reward. Those who did not take the action did not receive that reward. Those who did not receive the reward are now complaining about how they don't have the reward. That's what's happening.
  15. More like: "I don't like it and here's why." "Who cares, I don't want it so you can't have it either." "Not fair!" "Bitch whine filthy achievement whore! Whine! Should have backed the KS! Bitch! Bitch!" ...where 95% of whining is done by one person. Well to be fair, regardless of opinion on the matter, if you didn't back it on KS, you shouldn't be surprised you can't get the KS Backer acheev.Absolutely. However, everyone can discuss if there should be a backer achievement at all - or any "limited offer" achievements and not achievable by playing the game, which is what this problem really is about. Especially when all or almost all backers in this thread said they don't care about it. More like: "I don't like it and here's why." Right, bitching and whining like I said. Glad we're in agreement. It warms my heart to see you uphold the PoE forum sacred tradition of calling everyone you disagree with a whiner and a troll.I never called anyone a troll. Don't push your assumptions on to me. Nor do I call everybody I disagree with a whiner; just the ones whining about something.I apologize. I didn't mean to imply you call people trolls, only that your "whiners!" reaction is identical to an avalanche of "troll!" reactions I see on this forum so often. Ruining the threads, btw, even perfectly innocent ones. Sometimed people just ask for stupid features without trolling deliberately. Anyway, I haven't seen much, if any, whining in this thread. Only a few people complaining about whining and entitlement. Now, you can argue that all objections to the backer achievement are inherently childish and annoying, so "whining" by definition, but if this discussion is really so beneath you, I'm surprised you engaged in it at all. I don't find the discussion beneath me at all, I find the the cries of people whining--and that's all it is--about the backer achievement annoying. It is more than inherently childish, it's inherently "whining". The one and only argument capable of being made is literally that other people got something that they didn't and now they feel cheated. There's an inherent disregard for the idea of rewards given for behavior taken in the whole concept. The backer achievement isn't something that was given out random in a limited time frame just because; it's a specific reward to the backers for helping the game get made. You can argue all day long about whether that reward means anything and about whether the specific idea of this type of reward is good or bad, but at the end of the day it boils down to a bunch of people complaining about how other people got something and they didn't, and how that's not fair.

  18. To summarize this thread: "Bitch bitch whine I want whine bitch not fair whine." "Who cares." "Why should you get something that was given as a reward for a specific action which you didn't take?" "I care! Whine! I want! Bitch! Bitch! Not fair!"
  19. You're the kind of person who thinks a zebra is just a horse with a different coat pattern, aren't you? No, I think these forums are more interesting without you, so I'm adding you to ignore list. You're in broken record mode. Also, zebras can produce offspring with other equines, including horses. Interesting you'd call me in broken record mode when you just keep saying "No, you're wrong!" over and over. Nothing amuses me more than some **** shooting his mouth off at other people about things they themselves are doing. And yes. Good thing you're able to point that out and yet ignore the fact that it basically *never* happens without human intervention forcing it to, because in nature interspecies breeding is really rare.
  20. Yes, there is: One is a reward to loyal fans for having helped the game get made, the other is a cheap way to make extra money off people.
  21. Pre-order exclusives and built-in-but-need-to-unlock-DLC suck. Backer exclusives are a different thing. The Backer achievement was available to *everybody* at the same time. If somebody didn't get it, sorry--they had the same opportunity at the same time as anybody else. It's a reward for the people who spent the time and money to support the game so it could be made at all. This is literally just people bitching and whining because people get pissy whenever somebody else has something they don't--regardless of whether that's an earned reward or just bull**** given away (this is the first).
  22. Most people don't go onto a thread about that is about a specific feature which the poster enjoyed just to talk about how it sucks and everybody in the thread is wrong. I understand that you don't like the feature; the thread isn't about whether this feature is good or bad. The thread is about the enjoyment of this feature and wishing for more.
