  1. Josh Sawyer said in one of the streems that legendary items are not supposed to drop. Not sure if that means not supposed to drop at all or only from boss encounters or what, but he said it.
  2. No, it most certainly is not "impossible". Supposedly "hundreds" of bug reports? *TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE* bought this game. *THOUSANDS* are playing it *RIGHT NOW*. Even of hundreds of people experience those exact bugs, that's a *tiny fraction* of people.Human beings are *crap* at understanding ratios and large numbers. What world do you live in where people report bugs? The vast, vast majority of people will never even think to post about a bug, they will just look up a solution or give up immediately. And yes, it's impossible if you played before the first patch to not run into a bug because everyone's import/history was bugged. The very first feature of the game was completely non-functional until almost 2 weeks after the launch of the game. Everyone who played the game during that time encountered this bug. Now take a look at how many people played the game during that time, and look at how many times that bug was reported, and you'll see that a very very minuscule percentage of players actually report bugs. Yeah, but he didn't just bitch about the import/export bug. He was talking about glitches, crashes, being unable to install the DLC, etc. Those bugs are *NOT* universal and there is *NO* reason to claim that "most people" or even a significant portion of people experienced those bugs. SHE wasn’t “bitching” about anything... she was making a comment about the likelihood of improving QA by tasking game development staff with pre-release beta testing and quality control. 1) Sorry, I apologize for assuming your gender. 2) You and I have different definitions of "bitching". You were clearly complaining about the quantity of bugs, and attributing the experience of these bugs to large numbers of players, which is what I was *specifically* noting is not a valid statement.
  3. Does feeding her to the bloodpool get the breastplate to show up? I thought you specifically needed the ending slide where she get's torn apart by villagers.
  4. ...it kind of makes sense that an Island Amaua from the Deadfire would get more dialogue, no? I mean you're effectively a part of the indigenous culture of the region.
  5. I love this chart! Seems an Island Amaua from the Deadfire who is an Aristocrat *really* get's the dialogue bonuses.
  6. ""As you have probably guessed, Deadfire is a huge game—significantly larger than the original Pillars of Eternity." Obsidian Studios in a backer email. The results of this poll says otherwise. I definitely didnt get the feel it was significantly bigger when i played it. I reckon its about the same size. There are also hundreds of user/ critic reviews all over the internet suggesting the same, in fact worse then this alot of people are saying its shorter. Thats why i put this poll up to see what the players think. I looked at the poll results and you voted for bigger and IMO you have been out voted ....the majority of people in this poll have voted that it is bigger than PoE 1 base, but not bigger than PoE1+WM. Regardless, I didn't post that to make a statement about the size of the game, but rather to point out that Josh Sawyers statement about the size was an early statement which was not continued later. In one of the backer videos, Sawyer specifically says that the game grew larger than expected over the path of development. That's my point; not a statement about the size of the game, but a correction to the inaccurate idea that "same size as PoE 1 base" was anything other than an early statement that was altered in later press releases.

  8. How are people getting faster load times! It takes almost 45 seconds for any map to load for me. It can't be my comp, I can run max settings smoothly. Reducing graphics quality does nothing for load times. How much RAM do you have? Not that I have any idea whether that effects anything, it's just a random thought. I have 16 gigs and no load time problems at all. 15-20 seconds at most to load map.

  10. In firefox, right lick the picture and select "view image". This should take you to a tab with just the picture and nothing else. From there you can copy the address from the address bar and paste it in, I believe.
  11. I don't know where she is from But the Val are in deadfire no ? So.. Honestly , don't know . the real question is : Is she patriotic toward her country or 'patriote' toward the Val ? Ugh. She was born in Vailian Republics. She is a paladin in service of Vailian Repulblics' rulers. Vailian Republics are definitely not in Deadfire. She is patriotic towards Vailian Republics, Vailian Republics' ducs bels and by extension towards the Vailian Trading Company. There doesn't appear to be a whole lot of distinction between the Vailian Republics and the Vailian Trading Company; like with the East India Trading Company, the VTC is effectively an arm of the State.
  12. I tried *SO MANY TIMES*. Literally like a *dozen* times, couldn't manage to do it. They run up to him to damn fast, I couldn't even get close. You can pretty much stop that guy by using an ability like charge, escape, jump, etc immediately at the beginning of battle. Escape specifically I tried and did not work; it has 0.5 second cast time, and in that time he died.
  13. I don't play games like this for ocean combat. If I want that, there's games for that. I think they did just right, honestly--giving you the feeling of ship combat without all the bull****. They could definitely improve it, but I really, truly, honestly don't *want* complex, detailed ship combat.
  14. Like half the companion "quests" in PoE1 were just gated behind length of playtime. Wait long enough, talk to them enough times, you're done.
  15. I tried *SO MANY TIMES*. Literally like a *dozen* times, couldn't manage to do it. They run up to him to damn fast, I couldn't even get close. It's a good idea to have a priest on the party with Withdraw spell. Cast it on Giaccolo and he's untargetable for pretty much the entire fight. That makes sense.

  17. That depends on what you mean by "trash". Something doesn't have to be a boss encounter to be an interesting and fun combat encounter. Some of the most fun I've had were fighting kobolds in the BG Nashkel mines--their hiding behind traps, shooting me from across a chasm, etc.
  18. I don't find the companions bland at *all*. They all have fully developed and nuanced personalities. That issue you mentioned with Xoti in the throne room, that's a *perfect* example of the bugged companion interactions.
  19. To some extent, but there is a typical, "traditional" D&D adventuring party which the original 1st edition gameplay was designed around, that being--fighter, rogue, priest, wizard. Well, from my perspective that's kind of the traditional core of an adventuring party. I have to say though that I'm happy that spellcasters don't seem to be strictly required in PoE2. To the best of my recollection, I don't think that you could have said that about the old D&D Infinity Engine games, particularly BG2 with its rather unique arcane magic system. I seem to recall a number of high level magical enemies that you'd be super hard pressed to defeat without a high grade spellcaster of your own. Accurate. You need a spellcaster just to get rid of all the various kinds of protection spells the high-level enemies cast on themselves in that game.

  21. Is there any specific type of gameplay examples your looking for?
  22. The massively increased reactivity to race/background/class is probably my favorite thing about Deadfire.
  23. I feel there is exactly the right amount of combat in Deadfire. Every once in a while I'd feel like I've spent enough time doing story missions, and I'd go off and do a combat. There was never a period where I couldn't get into combat if I wanted to, or do a bunch of non-combat story stuff if I wanted to, and that's exactly how I like it.
