  1. Your right about the numbers, I was incorrect. But hiring illegals to do work at the home depot (example) takes jobs away from US citizens, that's a fact and to blame citizens for wanting an honest salary for an honest days work misses the point. I wouldn't recommend that. We tried a few years back, and it had the effect of massively encouraging further immigration. And now that the construction sector has collapsed, we have a huge surplus of unqualified workers draining on the unemployment compensation system. I know the situation isn't the same, but still. I was joking, there is no easy solution to this mess.
  2. Is illegal immigration worsening California's budget woes? July 9, 2009 | 7:44 pm Fixingcalifornia Many readers who have offered comments about California's budget crisis have urged officials to look at the effect of illegal immigration on the deficit. The Times' Teresa Watanabe and Anna Gorman decided to look into the question. Here are some findings: --State welfare officials estimate that cutting off welfare payments to illegal immigrants for their U.S.-born children could save about $640 million annually if it survives legal challenges. --California has roughly 2.7 million illegal residents, about 7% of the state
  3. American citizens prefer to live off welfare then do the jobs that illegal immigrants do. And you know this how? Interviewed all American citizens? Those jobs seem to get done in other states by US citizens why not in CA?
  4. No but the number of illegals here are much higher than they were then. I believe so, it's funny go to a home depot or other such areas in California and there are groups sometimes up to 50 illegals hanging around waiting for work - Moving, construction...... it's an issue to be sure. Hell I run a cleaning company and the competition is fierce, illegals will work 10 hours and get paid 50.00 cash I can't compete because of the minimum wage and these are just a few small samples of the issue. They should just make em legal and be done with it, that might just cut expenses and raise income from taxes to help us out of this mess. Also as stated earlier the government and how they do business is a big problem as well that needs to be addressed.
  5. There is no argument, it's a problem, period end of story if you don't think it is well good on you but it's a huge issue. Though hasn't it always been a problem? Or has it gotten worse? You tell me, workers taking jobs from American citizens, and NOT paying taxes, the rising health care costs, unemployment rate.... they are all linked no? Seems like a problem to me. Of course it's magnified during tough economic times.

  8. So was Karl Marx. Not that I'm accusing Enoch of being a Marxist. Comparing a poster to marx doesn't refute the fact that you were incorrect in your initial post. He was correct about the illegals though and E is somewhat correct but missed the immigration issue entirely.
  9. Home field advantage really showed this week. 12 out of 14 home teams won.
  10. Finally a mention of the real issue, you win!
  11. WOW that gameplay footage is fantastic! Can't wait to play it, the Dragon went down too fast though. Nice user reviews, they gave the same rating as the guy who actually played the game 9.00 since i havent played it 9.00 While I haven't gotten a chance to really see this game in action, it is the company that makes this the game to pick up. Bioware never makes a game that isn't worth playing 9.00 I like the look of the game and the game play
  12. Entourage - Final episode of this year, went out with a BANG!, possibly the best single show of the series. Ari was bringing it, with his best acting so far. Not to be missed. Curb Your Enthusiasm - Larry David > you
  13. After 14 years and arguably one of his best seasons considering the hand he was delt, the padres fire their gm. Good job on the trades and free agent dumpster diving, but horrific draft choices are what most likely lead to his demise. The mind boggles to think what he would have been able to accomplish with a full deck ($$$$$$) he won't won't be out of work for long if it's his choice. 14. I was wrong the SD vs. la series was only two games, but the dodgers leave losing both tonight was a 1 hit shutout and will have to celebrate somewhere else Hard to imagine la as a serious playoff contender
  15. Detroit at Chicago - Chicago, another losing streak begins for the lions Cincinnati at Cleveland Seattle at Indianapolis - Indianapolis, they have not missed a step without tony and manning is as good as it gets NY Giants at Kansas City Baltimore at New England - Baltimore the more complete team and still not sure if welker will play if he does, NE wins. Tampa Bay at Washington Tennessee at Jacksonville - Jacksonville, I will not pick Tenn with Collins at QB or until they win a game, what a disappointment they are. Oakland at Houston - Lol at the faiders NY Jets at New Orleans - New Orleans, game of the week? I would take the JETS, if in NY. To think the chargers interviewed both Ryan and Singltary before picking Norv as head coach Buffalo at Miami - Buffalo, Henne is a terrible QB and Thigpen whom I like won't be ready. St. Louis at San Francisco - San Francisco is real and the rams are a mess Dallas at Denver San Diego at Pittsburgh - No way the chargers win this, banged up OL, DL, no running game, they have never, ever won in pitt during the regular season, and norv is our coach. CHARGERS (one reason I won't win this thing is I never pick against my team) Green Bay at Minnesota - Minnesota. I hope they win 51 - 0 with Farve 26 - 30, 412 yards an 5 TD passes and 1 rushing TD.

  18. The second game of the Tigers and Twins will be on the MLB network as well. Here in SD we get the dodgers tonight with their magic number of 1 to win the division hoping for a sweep so they can celebrate somewhere else. We shall see.
  19. Depends on how muscular, as a fan of all women in their various forms, overly muscular woman are just above obese women as far as hot goes.

  22. Not a bad movie, well done and informative, I had no idea who this guy was.
  23. American Outlaws (2001) - I know better than to like this type of movie, maybe it was the hour of night or my mood but I liked it. The Omen (1976) - 70's horror at it's finest. Great music!
  24. No he is a good QB who sometimes shows brilliance and a true knowledge of the position, other times however...... He is a top 15 QB but great he ain't. Not yet
