  1. Did you ever finish TOEE? Troika delivered what they said they would a true representation of a classic pnp game. They did blow it with their questionable decision on their part to not enhance or expand on what was written. The music and voice overs were terrible. Buggy as hell. Atari did not help much in supporting the game either. The lead designer gets some of the blame, but so does the QA department, Atari not extending the release date when the game was still a buggy mess, Hasbro getting wet feet about the brothel, and children in the game......There were a few extenuating circumstances.
  2. So has much information been released about the bestiary, monsters of the game world? Attributes, powers, characteristics....... I sure hope not, I am really looking forward to playing a fantasy game, where I don't know everything about every creature I encounter. Keep it a mystery, don't let me right click on them and know all their strengths and weaknesses.

  4. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - Chapter 3 just arrived at Nar Shaddaa. rollin with the Handmaiden, and Kreia, FUN game so far, one CTD and besides being stuck and not being able to move a couple of times, no problems what so ever. Almost a full "meter" on the light side of the force.
  5. Love her already.
  6. Never played Bloodlines so I have no opinion on that game. As far as other RPG's I really have no issue's with the one's I have played, not a fan of Morrowind, Fallout combat was rewarding I thought, I have enjoyed all the IE games, the only one I did not care for was during the end of PS:T, I just rushed through to get to the end. The Kotor's are pretty easy, and not to challenging, if you make the right character (choosing multiple combat options) when you level up, it can be fun.The thing that bothers me most about the combat, other than it's too easy is the is big option box superimposed on the action, I want to see what I'm fighting. I recently died playing K2 last night, but that's because I went solo when I should not have, but there is a difficulty slider and the game is more challenging when you do not take any NPC's with you. Big fan of TOEE combat system and the game is really a mixed bag, but the combat was fun, challenging and more memorable then either IE or NWN1 and 2, despite what Volo, and Xard say. The main problem I have in RPG's combat, is there is too much of it, and the repetitiveness of it all. Hell you take away most of the time spent in repetitive combat and all the time, picking up loot from encounters and you have a 5 hour game. Make the game challenging and the encounters more memorable, increase the computers AI, hell cheat with the die rolls if you have to, I am not saying do it all the time, but during the times it matters. I know this is out from left field and I most likely don't know what the hell I am talking about, but study programing/codes from sports games and see how it could be used for RPG combat encounters, the AI in sports games seem to be so much better then there RPG counterparts.
  7. This is my exact experience as well, (I'll also add the fed ex quests were plentiful as well albeit with a little more imagination than most games) except it took me about 10 false starts until I forced myself to play and finish it last year. Best decision I have ever made about a game.
  8. November 21, 2008 That trailer was weak. Planescape Torment trailer was great. Them's fightin words
  9. So much for my reading comprehension
  10. I see where your coming from. But random encounters on an overland map just make sense to me. Also random encounters are as much a part of D&D as experience tables , saving thorws.....I just assumed they would be in the game. Shame on me.
  11. "None of our adventure areas are randomized" A little disappointed to read this, although it looks like if you use a new party with a different Class of characters there is a chance for different encounters along the way.
  12. Boy is this gonna be great :Graps the popcorn:
  13. Demonstone was horrible and the demo for DragonShard was pathetic. Less said about NWN the better. the rest are great games for that price. Currently going through BG with easy Tutu installed much better then the last version and highly recammended. (Music still does not play during the chapter/dream sequences though)
  14. Today is the day. August 26 - Roster reduction to 75 players This is an old story, but I just found it. New NFL rules for 2008 "A number of 2008 playing-rules changes were adopted by NFL owners at the NFL Annual Meeting in late March. Following are the changes, with comments from NFL head coaches and executives" LINK Despite what you might have heard, Warner has yet to be named Cardnials starting QB Link San Diego Chargers Steve Gregory (CB) signed four-year extention (through 2011). Jyles Tucker (LB) signed five-year extension (through 2012). This might be the replacement for Shawne Merriman, whose contract expires in 2009 and will demand BIG$$$$$$$$ San Diego is notorious for letting go superstar athletes, plus the front office is none to happy with him at this time. Green Bay Packers DeShawn Wynn (RB) cut. Chris Francies (WR) cut. Justin Harrell (DT) Placed on the physically unable to perform list. Pittsburgh Steelers Jeremy Bloom (WR) cut. Jacksonville Jaguars Chris Liwienski (G) cut. Ciatrick Fason (RB) signed. Arizona Cardinals Jemalle Cornelius (WR) cut. Kansas City Chiefs Jay Feely (K) signed. Michael Merritt (TE) signed/draft choice (three-year contract). Carolina Panthers Curtis Deloatch (CB) cut. Lester Ricard (QB) cut. Jason Carter (WR) Placed on IR (knee). Oakland Raiders Marviel Underwood (S) signed. Luke Lawton (RB) acquired from waivers. Greg Spires (DE) cut. Grant Irons (LB) cut. Jarrod Cooper (S) cut. Oren O'Neal (RB) Placed on IR (left knee). Drew Carter (WR) Placed on IR (left knee). New Orleans Saints Rob Hunt (G) cut. Kevin Dudley (RB) cut. Curome Cox (S) cut. Washington Redskins Matt Sinclair (LB) cut. Burl Toler (WR) cut. Minnesota Vikings Derrick Pope (LB) cut. Dallas Cowboys Quincy Butler (CB) cut. Denver Broncos Josh Mallard (DE) cut. Samie Parker (WR) cut.
  15. And a lot of terrible literature was written by folk with first hand experience of diddly jack squat. A lot of great literature was written by experts in subject they were writing about, A lot of terrible literature was written by experts in subject's they were writing about.
  16. Took my 5 year old son to his first day of kindergarten
  17. You haven't played it before? Not really, I finished the first one after about 10 attempts. I could never bring myself to get off the first planet, boy did that part suck. It does improve after that however. Then I was gonna jump right into part 2 then I decided to wait for the restoration project.........still waiting The dialog with HK in the beginning alone is better than the first game. Excellent conversation. But I am still Peragus, so I have not gone far.
  18. Common sense? Call me crazy but I tend to think that women would be better at writing female characters and romance and men would be better at writing men characters, but what do I know I don't read romance novels/stories so take that for what it's worth (nothing) Thanks.
  19. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords - Got tired of waiting for the restoration project, just started so far so good. It certainly starts off better than the first game.
  20. The most difficult part would be reading more than ten entries without pouring molten lead into my eye sockets. Alright. You never know, you might get lucky and have a winner in the first couple of entries, anyway don't you have lackeys to do that for you? Are you telling me every time I romance a female NPC, the part was written by a man.......I'm gonna get sick Are there any well known or any at all, female writers at major game studios. Why would anyone think computer geeks know anything about romance anyway?
  21. Strahan would consider returning, Giants open to idea "Former New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan would consider returning to the team in the wake of Osi Umenyiora's season-ending knee injury, the New York Daily News has reported, citing an unnamed source." LINK I would like to see him come back, for some strange reason I think it would be cool for him and Favre to retire together and get into the Hall of Fame together as well.
  22. Giants' Umenyiora requires season-ending knee surgery LINK So does Strahan unretire and suit up for the giants?
