  1. Dramatically cutting down the number of kids is a bad idea because demographics would become even more elderly heavy. Think of all the oldies with nobody to support them. That's the whole problem with pensions/medicare now and imagine it getting worse. You've got the population control backwards.
  2. BACKSTREET'S BACK ALRIGHT!
  3. She could be a sitter or the kids could be her relatives' etc.
  4. After the World Cup then. And exams.
  5. Max out Back off Bitch when they're sleeping. Trouble is sound doesn't discern when it comes to neighbours I guess.
  6. I always thought that the intro of Welcome to the Jungle playing as the player rolls into a large postapocalyptic town on her set of wheels in Fallout would be ****ing sweet. I've been watching Ghost in the Shell so I'm in the mood for badass chicks.
  7. I think Tool's releasing an album relatively soon - this year soon. I read that their frontman for Perfect Circle, Maynard has been working with them. Perfect Circle has awesome guitars and Maynard's solo Puscifer is awesome. Recommend me more stuff like Puscifer. Nice "zone" or ambience to it.
  8. "Oo, I wonder what this button does..."
  9. Nasty baby boomers!
  10. I'd have the dudes from BIO, OBS and the ex-TROIKA (now Obs?) get together in a Survivor-Big Bro (but not as lame as big bro - just the urban setting etc) reality show. It'd be broadcast live on the internet. Watch out for the special edited version on the weekend. People'd vote for the team and there'd be much anguish and rejoicing (from the audience). Imagine the fun! Tim Cain: We used to be Troika! Give me the butter knife! Feargus : But you're with Obsidian now! Give the butter knife to Sawyer!
  11. Have you watched Ghost in the Shell before? There's a 56 episode anime that continues too.
  12. Medical insurance does need an overhauling. Insurance works well when there are infrequent but large claims. Medical insurance is anything but. The premiums basically become your expected future payments for yourself. In Australia it's subsidised laregly by the Government out of their tax income and it's a large % of GDP, and increasing. There's no easy way and "free" just means the money's coming from somewhere else - possibly higher taxes or something which is less transparent.
  13. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Was fun. I can only imagine the effect of having a generation of kids moving into fantasy, D&D etc. Girls included this time. Ghost in the Shell I finally understand what all the hype was about. It's good. Raises a lot of the issues my prev AI threads had. I'm watching the animation series that follows it - it's quite a lot to soak in sometimes.
  14. But Greenpeace'd be mad at us for eating the amazon
  15. Just watched last week's South Park, 1003. Talk about great timing
  16. They sound delicious.
  17. The manuscript itself seems genuine enough - carbon dating, language evaluation by scholars etc. I'm very impressed that they've managed to restore it to 85% of what it was. 15% has been lost forever - literally crumbled to dust. The question is its contents. At the very least it provides an valuable view to what early Gnosticism was like.
  18. But beef bacon tastes terrible in comparisson. Pork's king in sausages and bacon.
  19. If you really want to, just dl the stuff Meta. Seriously. From the internet.
  20. Me and my friends were thinking of having a hypothetical bacon cookout and naturally we'd wash down all that smokey bacon goodness with lots of beer. The cookout would be open to everyone living in the uni halls (hostels) and since it's a bacon theme, you'd get free admission if you dress up like a pig. Thing is, we're concerned that we might catch flak from dudes. Technically we're not discriminating against anyone - everyone's invited. There's not any anti-social stuff going on either. The thing is I remember a food for the homeless gig in France caught flak because their soup had a pork base and they were seen as discriminating against Muslims. Should we be concerned?
  21. The apes did it.
  22. That she was. Maybe it's just that good leather in a goth setting works for most people. This is my new one - Psycho Girlfriend. I rotated the pirate one out.
  23. I'm a little on the side of the Vatican in being cautious about things in general. If its going to be a pillar of our faith, we'd better be very sure that it's legit. The Vatican's miracle investigators are among the most critical analysists there are. They absolutely believe in miracles, but they want to be damn sure that they aren't taken for a ride before acknowledging it. As such they are among the toughest critics in the world when it comes to investigating such things. I'm sure there's tons of interesting stuff in the Vatican's vaults like the prophyra etc. However better be safe than wrong though it might be worth the Vatican having a second look at them.. Bet this makes lots of good conspiracy theories though.
  24. A Tim Hortons donut. With coffee.
  25. I'm eagerly awaiting Nat Geo's Sunday special at 8.30pm
