Ain't 3.14 - 3.09 = .04? Edit: The original was so funny that I'll leave it on. I mean 2.13-2.09 = .04.

AI vs Genetics
I agree with you completely And in many ways, cars, cameras, industrial robots and many other machines are copies of some part or concept from the human body. It's almost like we reproduce mechanically as well as biologically... I've been thinking about it and it seems to me while humans and computers can absorb sensory data, process it and come to a decision fairly routinely, we have the ability to create solutions or new stuff. I'm not sure whether computers have anywhere near that capability at the moment.

Maybe the invisible rat's like a pinyata. Smash it and it gives fabulous loot.

Well I found this in my readings - which should be relevant to this thread http://www.emptywells.com/Article343.htm

So Iran's got fancy missiles too
Though that'd weaken Russia and China's position.

voice actors
I was impressed that Tara Stone voices both Toots and Princess Clara in Drawn Together. I had no idea untill I wiki'd it. I'd give her my support for some NWN2 vo's but I'm not sure how Obsidian and her could work the details out.

So Iran's got fancy missiles too
I'm not sure why they deicded to try out their fancy radar cloaked warhead carrying missiles after the Security Council asked Iran to stop enrichment within 30 days. It seems the bravado's egging the Security Council on which I thought would be a bad idea since they could get Russia and China to cover them as long as things didn't get out of hand. ME go boom?

Iron Chef America
The background info's cool, as was the Chairman's soliloquy as an intro but I agree - 15 min's too long. I liked some of Kaga's outfits though.

AI vs Genetics
Do they have the machines conquering us with death by snu-snu?

AI vs Genetics
Ah, so you mean that we're basically a function that takes stimuli as parameters and spits out responses. I agree with you in many ways but at the moment humans are much more sophisticated than computers in that respect so I'd go with "computers being a copy of us" rather than vice-versa in that respect.

It's a reply to "What are we if not self-replicating organic computers?" then you mention decision making. Granted number crunching doesn't solely define computers, I don't think decision making is defined by computers or that they set the benchmark either.

AI vs Genetics
Nah, that's like saying any any decision making's a subset of Computers. More like certain computer aspects (decision making?) are a subset of... Decision Making.

I think the SoU campaign's worth playing. HotU was superb though in my opinion. You could skip the original NWN campaign but you'd miss out on Aribeth goodness. Btw I hope they have some easter egg like an Aribeth tombstone where you'd get goodies if you did silly stuff like laying flowers or saying a prayer. Maybe a Heal or Curse spell depending on what you did. If you check out Fenthick's grave you'd get Finger of Death or something. Maybe a gender-bending curse like the BG1 belt. Plus, if you ask the Cleric in charge of the area he'd tell you that the Obsidz dudes included it because Aribeth's raging hordes of fanboys (and girls of course) demanded it.

Well I don't know about you but only certain autistic people can do crazy math stuff like computers.

An unliving entity would be fine too
Good point. I'd just raise this point - just because a block of wood and a lump of metal can fill the same amount space only one can conduct electricity. Thing is way we're comparing it is somewhat arbitrary but it can be different in the key part that matters (electricity conductivity or having a soul).

AI vs Genetics
Considering computers have just been around for 70 years, maybe 160 if you're stretching the definition I think they're off to a great start. At 70 years life would be lucky if it had single cells. And how many millions of years life took to achieve consciousness is another thing to consider. In a few centuries I'm kinda backing computers to make huge strides and catch up with life. However I agree with MasterRaven that the winner's probably going to be some hybrid of the two.

Iron Chef America
I read on Wiki that they're into their 3rd season on the Food Network - how's it? I only caught the opening battles between Sakai/Morimoto with Puck/Flay/Battali which were superb. How's the series? How's it compare to the Japanese ones?

NWN2 pitfighter competition
Once NWN2's out lets have Obsidian run a pitfighter competition. Players code their own AI for a party of 3 (submitted characters within certain parameter rules) and basically they duke it out with other parties. It has to be AI vs AI though so players aren't allowed to control their characters. The scripts do. Last person standing wins the game. What do you think?

Scaling.
Oh, so you can lvl up while everyone else has to stay static. I don't think so.

Everyone know it's the kids that have big swords. Once they're more mature they realise a really long katana's the way to go. Like Sephiroth.
