  1. My fav class has always been the wizard but I really want to hear about chanters so I vote Leaders of the Band. As for the current update it's sounds really cool I like that the rangers Animal Companion can play a big role in making the ranger not just "the guy with the bow who likes forests" Also u mentioned rogue =/= thief so is there not going to be open lock or pickpocket I'd LOVE more info on the God-likes as well
  2. OK sorry guys but your getting way off course (although your help so far is greatly appreciated my list has gotten massive :D) here I'm really just looking for co-op RPGs even action rpgs are pushing it and I was only looking into them because tales has a more active style so was looking for something similar (to be fair GoI is pretty amazing)
  3. LOTR: WITN is a wicked awesome game but I'm actually already playing it wiht my brother over steam so I don't want to double up I owned those games for like ten years and this is the first time I've ever heard of them being co-op. The sad thing is, now I've looked it up, it turns out it's true. Menus eh, who ever reads those things? Yeah I can't believe I missed it either, apprently you can do it in Earthbound as well. this. Path of Exile is the best Diablo game since Diablo II. if you like hack'n'slash you'll love it. I tried PoE a few months ago it didnt feel right Played them all..several times...probably will play several more times...really wish tere was a co-op option for thgat it would be SO MUCH fun. Anyways I don't know why but those games remined of thast super hero cartoon show "The Tick" There is. The only problem is that player 2 does not get to level up, but has to play a predefined character such as Steve the bard. "STEEEEEEVE!" Yeah I looked into it earlier it was too late to edit my post though but without the ability to level up/equip the second player its no fun (same issue the fable series has w/ co-op)

  7. We already play an MMO called DnD Online and we love it were specifically looking for somethin we can play whilst in the same room Any chance you know the names of those other games you mentioned I looked into Divinity Original Sin it looks like it could be amazing but from what I read its online only which is fine as we both have laptops but we do prefer consoles for our CO-OPness...don't stop suggesting PC Games though as I'm going to compile all the games mentioned for us to decide on...and will likely continue to use well into the future :D As for BG2 I'm waiting for the Enhanced Edition and BG1EE is definately on the list of possibilities as well That and the Dark Alliance/Norrath games (mentioned by Sorphx) seem like something we'd like :D Although we are worried they might be a bit light on the story...I mean the tales games aren't mega epic tales by any strectch but we did enjoy the story
  8. Pretty much the title...My gamer girl and I love experiences RPGs together even if we just takes turns playing but we discovered the greatness that is the Tales series (we've already played through Symphonia, Abyss and Vesperia) and now were addicted to CO-OP RPGs and hoping more exist so I figured I ask at a few of my favorite forums. So yeah we literally JUST finished Vesperia so were looking for another one, now we really prefer a standard RPG as opposed to something like Diablo but feel free to suggest anything also We'd prefer games on NES, SNES, PS1, PS2, XBOX, XBOX 360, Wii or Gamecube since I own all those systems but if there's an awesome enough game I might hunt down the relevant system (including PS3 since PS4s release will likely lower its price). So far I'm looking into Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Diablo 3 (Xbox360), Borderlands 2 (she might not like this one), and hopefully I can find the other tales games (would appreciate a list actually)but I'm sure theres WAY more than that so please lay your suggestions on me...vague, obscure, limited release I don't care as long as you think it would be fun. So yeah go nuts suggest away
  9. So, let's ask the people what they think if they agree with us then it's people demand and if they don't agree with us we will do it anyway? I see a great future in politics for you. Uh....no I'm saying the opinion on multi-classing is pretty 50/50 so the best bet is to add it (if there times of course) and the ones who don't like it don't have to use it. Sounds like your fine with multi-classing but only if its clearly an inferior and nigh unusable option.
  10. Do you consider your PC in every game to be an automaton, then? I'm curious about that. I understand that some people don't like to have more than one PC at once (although it's quite the opposite for many others, myself included), but I don't understand why some people either imply it's not possible or imply that they'd rather make no characters at all if they had that choice. From my point of view, the "hate roleplaying" option is to have characters with prebuilt personalities, but I suppose that just goes to show that different people often have very different ideas of what makes for good roleplaying. In general when playing by myself I make myself the PC so that where his "personality" but the others are sort of just bags of stats that follow me...the only time I like doing a full "blank slate" is in a multiplayer game than yeah thats fantastic for roleplaying but if I'm playing solo I prefer to have the NPCs so its LIKE I'm playing with other people but I do like being able to control their mechanical side (stats etc.) so I can still have a varied party (I like expereincing different classes) That said one thing I like doing in IWD (no NPCs) is make the party my family and friends and play those characters based on how I view those people...it kinda of sucks BUT if I could give them basic personalities a la Wizardry 8 it would help flesh them out a bit. I do agree though personalties should be made with no links to any paticularily specific class. Just personality archetypes...agrressive, flirty, goofy, sketchy, etc.
  11. Well we don't know much about the classes themselves beyond the cipher but based on what we do know and how the classes work in the other Infinity Engine games I'd go with the following W/o Multi-classing Fighter or Barbarian Monk or Paladin Cleric Wizard Chanter Cipher With Multi-classing Fighter/Cleric or Paladin/Cleric (preferably a dwarf or other race that has a naturally militaristic or "tough" society although I might go Dwarven Godlike simply to have one) Barbarian or Barbarian/Druid (shaman type character- likely Savannah Human or Wild Orlan) Wizard/Rogue (illusionist/Assassin type character) Chanter (I like having a bard along, usually roleplayed as my PCs buddy for fun roleplaying - I like having them as more of a "chronicler" as opposed to a "story teller") Cipher or Cipher/Monk (master of their own mind and everyone elses :D definately thinking Orlan, 'm loving the lore of those secret detective...I might roleplay it as the others think he's just a wizard and he's there to "watch" the party) Ranger/Rogue (I always have a bow user...I love archery IRL so I always like to have one) Most likely have my PC as the Monk/Cipher or Wizard/Rogue but I may be a Dwarven Godlike Fighter/Cleric. I would like to have at least one of each race within my party. I'd really like to see the option to customize companion builds at the adventurers guild I hate having the "Automaton" Sack of stats custmoized NPCs but I also hate having companions not fit into my party. (ie. there 3 clerics and they hapen to be the 3 I wan to chill with for my first playthrough) Also the multi-class party is FAR mor einteresting to me so I hope the devs find time for that.
  12. Oh and to clarify I couldn't stand people who made charcarters that looked like this 6/1/1/1/1/1/1/1/2/2/1/1/1 that was just ridiculous. I'd say free multi-classing system with a maximum of 3 classes would be best. This I say as a player and as a DM. Also IMO the stupid XP penalty encourgaed those builds instead of discouraging them (ie. the 6 would be rogue and you choose halfling since its their favored class and the rest either 1 or 2 levels became unaffected by the xp penalty where a far more natrual feeling 12/6/2 or like 15/4/1 got heavily penalized)
  13. OK so looking at the votes it seems pretty split, I mean theres clear winners but its definately not a landslide but the great thing about a single player game is you don't HAVE to multi-class so there's little reason not to include (assuming there time to develop it) I really think there should be almost no limits on multi-classing...at most limit it to 3 classes the fact that you can only choose 1 class per level should be limit enough (ie. a Chanter12/Monk6/Fighter2) and none of that XP penalty BS it's just an annoyance and means nothing at Lvl cap. Mutli-classing makes a HUGE difference in replayability of games like these. A Rogue, A Rogue/Mage and a Fighter/Rogue makes for all entirely different builds and a multitude of possibilities within those builds themselves...not to mention the roleplaying aspect of it...I love making a wicked backstory for at least my PC (I like having companions but their pre-made builds always irk me so I always end up with a merc or two...muliplayer game...transfer save to single player file FTW) I'd also like to see kits like in BG1 except when multiclassing you can choose a kit for each class. ie. A Rogue/Ranger/Wizard can be a Sharpshooter/Beastmaster/Illusionist instead of just a Sharpshooter/Ranger/Mage
  14. One thing I've always wanted to do is have "custom companions" with NPC stories because I like having specific groups but I also like certain characters but their builds or classes don't mesh...ie. The 3 characters I want to chill with are all clerics....the stat modifiers/trainers always help with this but they take a while to come about and theres always some things that are hard-coded in to the game...it would be nice if the Adventurers guild allowed us to retrain the NPCs for the ground up. My friends call me the Roleplaying Powergamer....I like having the best of both worlds...awesome storylines and full control over the mechanical aspects although I'll usualy sacrifice power to fufill any roleplaying constraints I've made for myself or if I think something doesnt fit the character. If thats not possible having the "mercs" have minor personalties so they actually talk and give advice during conversations but never actually leave the party in disgust or w/e would be nice, just enough so I don't feel like I've purchased a bunch of automatons. Adding both things would be great actually as my group will likely end up as a mix of companions and "mercs" although I'd be ok with an "Automaton" option for people who hate roleplaying.
  15. My god, I was gonna start a little check list saying th various things this does right, but wow that would pretty much just be rewriting what has alkready been written. This sounds awesome at its current stage, hell I even WANT to expereince the "bad" events just to see what happens/\ Few Ideas though: - Allow us to refight any captured named NPCs in an arena like battle like BGEE has...no rewards of course just fun to refight previous boss battles especially with different characters - Give the option to have idle adventutrers increase security rating since well their heroes, at the stronghold :D (as opposed to questing, etc. for loot and whatnot) Again though I'm salivating over this game :D
  16. It would probably be alot more useful if you mentioned Why you think it sucks and maybe even how you think they can approve it because otherwise they may misread what your saying.
  17. This 100x times this...I've had super bad eyesight since I was 3 and 23 years later its even worse so being able to increase the font size would be a life saver
  18. A few more points are reading other peoples ideas and suggestions (the stuff from my original post stil apply :D) - Please do not use an MMO-esque UI I love the solid UI in the example - Have things create a tooltip when hovered over (give it about a second delay before something pops up and make that adjustable in options from like 0.5 - 5 seconds) , I always hated when I got a status effect and had no idea what it did or forgot exactly what a spell did...not much info need to be within the tooltip just the mechanical stuff - I'd love to have the ability to click pre-set stuff for each character without having to actually select them similar to what Odd Hermit shows in this pic (refering only to the quick slot stuff) and it would be cool if I could decided what goes there instead of just quick slot items....ie. I could choose Stealth, Find Traps & Disable Device for my theif than for my Wizard Spells, Quick Item Slot 1 (Wand of Awesome) and than a specific spell that I use often. http://i.imgur.com/jYuYx9E.jpg (odd hermits pic) - If you keep the statue of the left please flip it so its looking to the right...it's weird having them both look to the left instead of into the UI - Alternatively you could lose the Statue of the left so you can increase the size of the portraits (and give room for each to have a border and nice quick slots...you could than move the Command button to above the options, inventory, etc. Here's a general (badly photoshopped) idea of what I'm talking about Example w/ Notes Example w/o Notes (for easier viewing) Original Mockup http://media.obsidian.net/eternity/media/updates/0054/pe-hud-wip.1280.jpg
  19. My only real compaint about the UI is the Blue/Red Bars and the Blue Circle surrounding what I'm assuming is that character summon or animal companion (Sidenote: I'd love to see these companions grow in strength with the character as opposed to having having multiple versions ie. I, II, III, IV,etc.) it's really bright and doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the aesthetic. Maybe darken the colors a bit and give a bit of a border...a tiny vial or something? Altenatively having the portraits show visual damage indicators with the option of displaying #/# (ie. 10/22) would be cool to Oh and their also seems to be a weird green white aura around a few of the characters looks kinda weird to but that might just be my eyes. Other Than that I love it...I like that everything is contained in the southren quadrant allowing for maximum viewing area and quick access to all the menus.
