  1. It was a bit aggravating that often times even when the game paused upon trap discovery (with my rogue in the front) it was often too late to stop the party from bumbling into it. So /signed
  2. I am in NO way an artist and this is definitely a rush job (ie. bad background removal causing some artifacts in the final outcome) just to see what would happen by using GIMP and , than adding a slight (3) "oilify" filter and finally adding the background I ended up with this...dunno if it counts as "watercolour" but was curious if a non-artist like myself even had a chance to use custom portraits (and yes one of my rangers was Kristoff, he hung out with my Chrono Trigger Squad occasionally)...atm I'm thinking no but I might keep messing around with gimp if I have time.
  3. @Hilfazer: I repeat. 19/1 Issue: I'm sure there will be abilities and/or that have lvl requirements just in POE1 some even required max level, also as has been mentioned several times class abilities will scale with level. I don't want multi-classing in ANY form: Don't use that feature, problem solved.
  4. I agree, it would have been alot more "impactful" if when you fixed a building it started to get used instead of just being a mechanical bonus. Also hoping for some "ship-wide" equipment/inventory system. It's such a pain to cycle through active and inactive member to keep equipment up on everyone (I tend to cycle through companions) If possible I would love it that instead of having to stop what I'm doing to resolve attacks on my ship the characters still on the ship should be able to do so (under my control), really drove home that the other companions/adventurers were just in a random limbo instead of at the base.
  5. 19/1 Issue: I'm sure there will be abilities that require Lvl 20 just like some required Max level in POE1, also as has been mentioned several times class abilities will scale with level. 2e Multi-classing is best: Alternate your level ups, will simulate 2e Multi-classing where-as 2e multi-classing cannot simuate free-form Free-form multi-classing makes no sense "lore/fluff-wise": It makes just as much sense as why spellcasters "suddenly" learn new spells as they level up...because it's NOT suddenly, you gain new knowledge throughout your experiences during that level...I mean more than enough weapon, spell tomes, armor, etc. get dropped by enemies to practice with...if it suits you put one of those dropped items into the persons inventory to simulate them keeping it on-hand. POE2 is even better suited to it since according to the devs each class will have items specific to them like Mages had spellbooks. If anything 2e style multi-classing is FAR more limiting "fluff-wise" as you can only mutli-class at level 1....for example sure I could make a rogue/cleric at level 1 if I want that "mechanically" but that only accounts for BACKstory fluff-wise, I can't adapt to anything that happens during my actual roleplaying of that character, for example I could choose to play a halfling rogue starting out but if he were to find religion and start training to become a Cleric of "X" I can't do that with 2e, 3.Xe is perfect for that, POE2's proposed MC system only allows for one "twist" which is a bit annoying...I'd advocate max 3 classes if only because I doubt they'd allow 4 (the most amount of classes I've seen used at my table). Of course I can see the issues with the "fake" levels granted so I'll tolerate the limit to 2 classes. I don't want multi-classing in ANY form: Don't use that feature, problem solved. I mean I didn't enjoy Durance or Pallegina despite them being pretty popular but I'm not upset they kept Pallegina for POE2 I'm just not going to bother using her. (With MC, Aloth & Eder I only have 2 slots to try the new companions anyways)
  6. So yeah pretty short and simple the, 3.5mil stretch goal includes the line "This also adds options to pick your own colors for sails and flags!" I was just wondering would this include the ability to upload custom images for your sails/flags similar to adding custom character portraits (ie. Size limits, file type, etc.)...if not already planned can it be done?
  7. Maybe the Spiritshift focused archetype could get permanent shift and either gains the ability to use some equipment (thinking rings, necklaces, etc.) OR gains a Swarm Form which is immune to Disengage and causes DOT within a small AOE (the size of the swarm)
  8. I actually really love the idea of a "Swarm" Sub-class for Rangers...possible "Swarm" companions could be Bees, GMS Hamsters (or GMS Piglets), Bats, Snakes, etc. otherwise a "Swarm" Spiritshift would be cool too :D
  9. Just a quick questions to the devs and the opinions of other Pillar Enthusiasts. With the possible introduction of relationships to POE2 will you be able to set some "like/dislikes, etc." for your MC or is it just your choices that affect this, Also would we see Adventurers have a few "character trait" selections so they feel more "real" For example if my party if Aloth, Eder, MC and 2 Adventurers will I see any interaction with those 2 adventurer's?
  10. Hope this means permanent spiritshift is a thing in POE2, preferably with the option for actual equipment (even if there's limitation like no metal armor kinda thing...and something similar to "amulet of mighty fists" so the paw attacks can be enchanted) since it was cool early game but quickly died off as a option. @Faerunner: If it helps there's an updated mod for POE1 that allows permanent spiritshifting, you can even see my Bear/Nature party (Tree Chanter, Bear Druid, 4x Ranger w/ Bear) in ones of the pics http://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity/mods/138/? (not my mod, just a submitted pic)
  11. Sadly, 200$ isn't "mere" to me and I'd likely have to replace my motherboard to upgrade anyways. Also I wasn't complaining, just asking. If you can swing it, you may look for a used PC on Craig's List, eBay, yard sales, pawn shop, or something equivalent. When I've been strapped for cash I've hit pawn shops/yard sales and snagged a PC that was better than I had for pretty cheap. Then slap you gfx card in it, and voila. You could easily find someone selling a Sandy bridge system for a couple hundred or less, and it would do fine. I've helped friends find cheap PCs this way as well, and more recently. Just a suggestion. Yeah I'll be keeping an eye out on craig's list, etc. :D Good luck! I don't know what games you play (other than PoE), but if you aren't big on modern AAA games you can get away with murder on a used system. Also, I forgot to add Salvation Army and Good Will to that list if you have them locally. Main reason I haven't bothered upgrading...the big resource hogs aren't really my thing...most of my games are more of the old school variety and their spiritual successors but their even starting to push that envelope. @EJSING: Thanks for the laugh.

  14. Then don't take any druid levels for Edér. Problem solved. Obviously. But from a story perspective, if someone does chose to take druid or mage, how does the story accommodate that? Or is it just a gamey thing that won't get explained? No the devs are not going to waste resources for even a little blurb for every single possible companion multi-class, luckily they don't need to because we have an incredible thing called imagination, often referred to as head canon....the same reason that Eder is still Eder even if i spec him to use bows, a big two-hander or heavy armor and shield. I also repeat, if you don't want to multi-class then just don't, no reason to remove the feature.
  15. Thanks for the response guys, I've PC gamed my whole life and know how to install hardware and software and deal with most technical issues but PC specs have always confused me. Really worried about picking up Tyranny now...hopefully I'll get a chance to upgrade by Next year for POE2.
  16. Glad I'm not just blind and it's not actually there somewhere...the "comparable specs" is encouraging though...just all the talk of higher resolution models and the enhanced spell effects have me a bit worried. Thanks :D
  17. It's a cool idea but I quite like the hand drawn feel of the POE1 beastiary and frankly I'd worry that a change like this to the beastairy could keep me from playing the game at all due to rendering a much larger model in the book than on the battlefield. If they did add it though I would love to be able to turn the model, make it bigger smaller, animate, etc.
  18. I'm sure it's posted somewhere but how demanding is POE2 going to be in comparison to POE1 I have a fairly old computer which is starting to get to the point where I can't just assume a game will work for me (4GB Ram, Intel Duo CPU E7400 @ 2.80GHz, ASUS R7 250X 1GB) Side-query: Anyone with similar specs manage to run Tyranny? It's holding me back from buying it. (Can you run it says I can't but it also says Tales of Berseria won't run for me on low settings but I'm currently playing it on High)
  19. I don't get all the hate for multi-classing, its a single player game, it doesnt affect you if I make a Chanter/Paladin or just a Paladin, thats my game and my story as for people saying the Multi-classing is only for power gamers thats ridiculous, power gamers will ALWAYS find the most optimal "builds" the only way to avoid that is to have ZERO options and no one wants that. Not to mention, who cares, thats what's fun for them and again it doesn't affect you. If you don't want to multi-class than don't...from a roleplaying prespective it allows characters to grow organically (ie. In 3.5 I had a Paladin that took a Warlock level because he absorbed the dark energy of the BBEG to save the party) instead of choosing at Lvl 1 like 2e forced you too. So yeah sometimes I'd have players who came to my table with their characters planned from 1-20...not my preference and it really did rub me the wrong way but thats their choice as long as its not detrimental to the story and often times even those players would tend to change the build relative to what affects their character. So yeah POE2 would be made an inferior game to have the 3rd edition multi-classing (dual-classing really) option removed or replaced with something more rigid but leaving it in actually doesn't affect people who dislike multi-classing at all. Ipso Facto, there's no reason to remove it...If anything the limit to two classes hurt's the "organic story-telling" aspect of multi-classing a bit so expanding it wouldn't be a bad thing...on the other had we get cool "Dual-Class Titles" so I'll compromise for that. Sidenote: If multiplayer is added at some point I would be in favor of having option like "No multi-classing" (No X Race, No X-Class, Level Range,etc.,etc.) and the like in the host options as long as you can see that when your check out the available games list.
  20. I'll start off by saying I REALLY liked how the soulbound weapons progressed through merit-based requirements but I didn't like that they were locked to only a few classes each...I had a Chanter MC for example that was my only shield user so despite the fact that dragon's maw looked incredibly cool I couldn't use it. I'd propose that instead of a lockout have any class specific bonuses only apply if you have that class otherwise you get the "generic" alternative (ie. Sword of Defense - +X Deflection, etc. etc., IF fighter also +x Trip use /enc or w/e, if not +X% health per con)
  21. Here's what I have so far...a few ??? where I have no ideas and a couple in quotations where I have the "Fluff" but not a snappy class name to suit it. Some I just agree with what's been suggested. Barbarian+Chanter = Skald Barbarian+Cipher = Soul Ravager Barbarian+Druid = "Crazy Tree Hugger" Barbarian+Fighter = Fearsome Defender Barbarian+Monk = Brutal Pugilist Barbarian+Paladin = Zealot Barbarian+Priest = Shaman Barbarian+Ranger = Survivalist Barbarian+Rogue = Thug Barbarian+Wizard = Rage Mage Chanter+Cipher = Puppetmaster Chanter+Druid = Bestial Herald Chanter+Fighter = Bladesinger Chanter+Monk = "what type of instrument involves enemies bones and my fists" Chanter+Paladin = Divine Tactician Chanter+Priest = Holy Conductor Chanter+Ranger = Woodland Melodist Chanter+Rogue = Guileful Linguist Chanter+Wizard = Spellsinger Cipher+Druid = Wild Soul (or Soul of the Wild) Cipher+Fighter = Psi-blade Cipher+Monk = Spirit-fist Cipher+Paladin = Inquisitor Cipher+Priest = Vitalist Cipher+Ranger = Soulknife Cipher+Rogue = Ghost or Agent Cipher+Wizard = Animancer Druid+Fighter = Warden Druid+Monk = Fist of the Forest Druid+Paladin = ??? 22. I was killing some time and figured a full list of all 55 combinations would be helpful :D Barbarian+Chanter Barbarian+Cipher Barbarian+Druid Barbarian+Fighter Barbarian+Monk Barbarian+Paladin Barbarian+Priest Barbarian+Ranger Barbarian+Rogue Barbarian+Wizard Chanter+Cipher Chanter+Druid Chanter+Fighter Chanter+Monk Chanter+Paladin Chanter+Priest Chanter+Ranger Chanter+Rogue Chanter+Wizard Cipher+Druid Cipher+Fighter Cipher+Monk Cipher+Paladin Cipher+Priest Cipher+Ranger Cipher+Rogue Cipher+Wizard Druid+Fighter Druid+Monk Druid+Paladin Druid+Priest Druid+Ranger Druid+Rogue Druid+Wizard Fighter+Monk Fighter+Paladin Fighter+Priest Fighter+Ranger Fighter+Rogue Fighter+Wizard Monk+Paladin Monk+Priest Monk+Ranger Monk+Rogue Monk+Wizard Paladin+Priest Paladin+Ranger Paladin+Rogue Paladin+Wizard Priest+Ranger Priest+Rogue Priest+Wizard Ranger+Rogue Ranger+Wizard Rogue+Wizard
  23. I don't know if the editor changed or if an update to pillars changed this but i cant find any "tab" that says size or anything asset called "monobehaviour" Also is it possible to use the editor to make talents modal instead of 1/enc or w/e (ie. arcane veil) and/or to change the portrait of a companion (I'd like to change the devil of Caroc's portrait to Robo from chrono trigger) Anyways Eder's file looks like this (Windows 7 64-bit)
  24. So I've Decided on their "racial" abilities, I mainly stuck to passive or modal abilities Ayla - Brute Force: Attacks target deflection OR fort whichever is lower, this just feel so perfect for ayla and between this and Baby rage I feel that she feels enough like a Monk/Barb multi-class to feel like Ayla Frog - Armored Grace: Reduces armors penalty on attack speed, Despite wearing the heaviest armor of the playable characters (sans robo) in Chrono Trigger he's extremely agile (leap slash, x-strike etc.) so I felt this reflected that quite well (even if its somewaht useless mechanically since his might/dex & Per are so low) Lucca - Swift Aim: Fast attack/reload, reduced accuracy, This is a bit of fudging i've somehow got stuck on the idea that lucca arrived in the world of Pillars long before the rest of the team and thats how alot of the technology has been advancing ie. Guns so I think it would be cool if Lucca had an "experimental" gun I was originally thinking powder burn but since she's a fire mage it felt redundant with cone of flames. Marle - Still no idea TBH I've taken driving flight for now cause it seems cool, suggestions? minor threat is my only thought since she's the least threatening member Crono - He was quite difficult Lightning Strikes would have been perfect but it requires swift strikes which requires wounds so doesn't function, ive decided to just always enchant his weapons with shock lash, as for the ability i went with i decided on Dragon Leap since Crono does kill several bosses that way (ie. Dragon tank) so I figured WTH. Magus - Another character I have no idea what to do with, chose deep wounds since i have a feeling that a scythe would cause some serious bleeding. *Bonus* Robo - Long Pain fist weapons x 2 = rocket fists + using devil of caroc (changing her portrait with eternity keeper) not sure what class...I might just make him completely custom just for fun (talent/feats wise, same amount as everyone else but not worry about class requirement)...if not thinking fighter or rogue. Not sure if long pain counts as a ranged weapon, melee weapon or both but i CAN confirm that marksman adds its accuracy bonus when at the proper distance. Will likely replace Magus when i find DoC unless I really like his build (than I may keep him or rebuild crono as a battle mage with a lightning focus) Here's the updated build plans (a few minor edits + new racials) Name: Frog (MC) Species: Orlan (Green) Class: Royal Bodyguard (Paladin) Stats: Mgt 10 Con 16 Dex 10 Per 6 Int 18 Res 18 Weapons: Sword & Shield Skills: Athletics, Survival Order: Shieldbearers 1R Armored Grace (replaced minor threat) 1P Lay on Hands 2T Weapon & Shield Style 3P Zealous Focus or Endurance 4T Hold the Line 5P Liberating Exhortation 6T Cautious Attack 7P Reviving Exhortation 8T Greater Lay on Hands 9P Reinforcing Exhortation 10T Shielding Touch 11P Healing Chain 12T Deep Faith 13P Righteous Soul 14T Superior Deflection 15P Behold the Martyr 16T Veteran's Recovery?
