Actually they have both had the lead. Long time ago, but AMD ruled the (CPU) world in the 90s. They were given permission by intel to create x86 processors so Intel's buyers would still have a source for chips if say the intel plant got leveled in an earthquake or something. True story. Certain compilers are designed to run better on Intel hardware than AMD, it's kinda like what NVidia does with physics and god-rays. etc. They want their proprietary tech to run on everything, but run much better on their hardware.

I pity the republicans. I guess we were all expecting the joker candidates to be replaced by more centrist candidates capable of appealing to a larger group of people. Sanders is 'out' and Trump... won ?. How can they not give him the nomination now. We don't really know what he's going to do as president. I don't think he does himself, he just wants to get to fly around in air force one.

I'm hoping there is going to be a winner somewhere down the lower price ranges as 14 mn chips become more common, but it sounds like the thing if you want something capable of running 4k and you don't care what things cost.

Last level was kinda dissapointing design wise as well. Enemy teleporting all over the place and it's not really possible to make intelligent decisions other than run after avatars and try to kill them before the clock runs out and you get overwhelmed. Was not into the manga hairdo commander avatar at all. Still it was better than the final mission in the reboot which was much too short and not challenging enough. They could have taken a page from the old games and done a two part mission, like the alien base on the moon. I got one base defense mission which is basically just 'defend these tiles or fail.' Fairly disappointing. Was looking forward to fighting the invaders inside the ship. Also no flying units other than one enemy type and no mechs. Doing an ironman now , looks like I'm going to lose, after which I will probably forget about it until the DLC are all out.

I never do one or the other all the way because there always seems to be a better choice. Arguably the last sniper skill is the best, it's the one where you get an action for every kill, but you really need diversity as well. I have been saved a number of times by being able to move and use fan shot. Pistols also never run out of ammo.

Just got my entire squad wiped out by giant laser war walkers and reanimating bioshock armors I guess the endgame difficulty hit.

I barely do anything but place 4 snipers to the rear and and have two green squaddies engage close and hunker down. They never last long but there is not much choice, I need the firepower of my snipers. They are the only max level I have.

too late for that. I would have to place the workshop in a corner, which kinda defeats the purpose. I guess I'll just buy an engineer every month.

I've been putting off upgrading most things in favor of excavating the base and building one of every facility two pips remaining in the doom ticker which I hope will be enough to make contact and eliminate another base. Dunno what I'll do when I run out of power but it looks like you get power bonuses on the campaign map for setting up cells covering a whole continent so that will be my strategy.

I play rangers more or less like a rogue in an RPG. backstabbing PSI casters, that kind of thing. Other than that I rely largely on snipers. Probably because all the other squaddies i had in the beginning died and the snipers survived and got to high levels.

Surely we have learned by now not to get excited about scores. Anyway it's good. With that out of the way, back to talking about everything that's wrong with it.

Scanning stopped working. Or rather the timer for an event just goes to 0 and then -1 and so on and nothing happens. Anyone else get this ?

You go to ground somewhere ?. The cities are still populated by humans. It's the principle of cutting away the apex of the curve that bothers me. A counter reaching zero is pretty anti climatic once it's done.

Getting a lot of stutter in between missions flying back and forth in the transport for some reason. In mission it's fine so far.

Yeah, I just can't help feeling short changed. So we are counting down to something dangerous. Show me the danger. Spawn an extremely hard enemy squad that you would rarely escape from without casualties and a new extraction point. That would have been so easy to do. They could have used that in the story as well to build up an enemy boss that you would have to face sooner or later for instance.
