It's just hostage taking with another name. Vertical mounting brackets are just to show off the RGB bling on the GPU. They make the problem worse, not better. Supposedly they also generate worse airflow.

It's kind of ridiculous though, I could cut two blocks of wood that would do the job along with a riser cable, and there are no commercial options to reclaim PCIe slots.
