  1. I am also 35 and driverlicenseless. If I didn't walk and bike I would get no excercise at all.
  2. Tachyon emissions.
  3. Sonic the hedgehog, the platform game... Why do these things even exist ?
  4. It's very hard to make a self contained story when you have a little over 20 mins, and for my part, the cylons aren't scary anymore, they are more like intellectuals walking around in designer clothing musing about the will of the gods.
  5. I would much prefer to see battlestar gallactica movies, the series format is very restricted and all the longer specials have been a lot better.
  6. You have an air ballon. Pretty cool.
  7. According to an online currency calculator new xbox games cost ca. 120$, older ones 100$, thats with our draconian sales taxes. Now i'll pay that, but only if I know it's something i'm going to be playing for a looooong time.
  8. I might get one, but the games are ludicrously expensive, at least 20% more than comparable PC games. Maybe it's our tax system or something.
  9. After the initial over exposure in the 60s it took a while for it to be rediscovered by a new generation, anyway get this ; I grew up in a hippie commune where everyone changed their last name to 'Rivendell'
  10. It's pretty strange when you think of all the other sci fi channel shows that are pretty unremarkable and seem to go on forever. Maybe battlestar costs more to make with the large cast, I dunno.
  11. Yes what the hell kinda kindergarden crap is that. Dead is dead, and the world doesen't end either because generic NPC was supposed to have a few lines later on - so he won't, cause he's dead, dead as in dead, not falling comatose for the remainder of combat.
  12. I thought bad writing had pretty much destroyed BSG, all those epidsodes that weren't about anything in particular.

  14. I like fantasy, it's just a long time since i've seen it done well.
  15. The hobbit was the first book in english I ever read, then I went on to the lord of the rings. I still like them very much even though they're not 'cult' anymore.
  16. The guard and disable skirmish mode options work for all units in the game except musketeers and arquebusiers, they still turn and face, pulling themselves out of position.
  17. That game I was thinking of was called Imperial Glory, not Empires. It had all the stuff like taking and holding fixed positions like buildings, naval combat etc. My chief worry in this is that the pace of battles will be so fast you will be playing in increments with the pause button. I certainly hope they fix musketeers. In Kingdoms they automatically turn and face the enemy, which leads to them ending up in random positions voulnerable to enemy mele, pretty useless compared to archers which can be placed anywhere and will shoot over the heads of screening forces and won't turn and ruin their deployment.
  18. Running around wielding a 'Longsword +2' is an insult to anyones intelligence. Anyway I much prefer magic weapons to be extremely rare, that the cost involved in crafting them is so huge that only a dozen or so are even known to exist.
  19. This looks interesting, I remember a game called Empires which tackled many of the same gameplay issues, but did so rather poorly. The strongest unit in the game was the humble peasant, which could cut a swath through musketeers with their clubs. It also had no loose formation and no guard formation so after each enemy contact your forces would be facing every which way and you would have to click them all back into place for the next contact. Naval combat was fun, and also completely unmanagable with more than 4 ships at a time.
  20. We already have a term for what they are; illegal immigrants, calling them crimminals is just pointless posing.
  21. And yet we are quite happy to recieve those who could have the resources to actually improve their own country, India exports both computer geniouses and cab drivers, it's known as the 'brain drain'. If this were about sustainability that would be as big a crime as running across the border. Or do we only care what immigration does to the wealthy western reciever countries.
  22. Clicking is very bad if it's comming from the HD, the sound of the pickup scratching the crap out of your drive. Usually the dying sounds, lope thats not the case.
  23. In that case they won't be Mexicans, they will be Americans.
  24. I guess i'm more of an individualist than I thought. I can't seem to get myself excited about illegal immigration or the least bit mad on behalf of my country. There is an obvious distinction between breaching the social contract, and acting in the interest of bettering the lives of yourself and your children, and lets face it, it's not that you don't want immigration, it's that you don't want the ones that aren't rich already. There are plenty of greencards written out for highly skilled workers. There has to be some kind of Irony in the fact that in 50 years, when Latinos will be the largest demographic in the US, it will be the children of those same immigrants who will be keeping out those huddled masses yearning to breathe free.
  25. America owes its success to people comming there in the hope of bettering their situation. If you want the borders harder to cross, make them harder to cross, but you can't fault people for exploiting opportunity and trying to make everything they can of their lives. This reaction to unwanted immigration tends to lead toward some rather unsavory extremes, it already has in Europe, where the extreme right are feeding on this resentment and have created a permanent political force.
