  1. Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let him know the masseuse had arrived found him dead at 3:26 p.m. I wonder if that was a massage, or a 'massage'. Anyway stay off drugs kids.
  2. It's funny how these things work. Behind the sceenes the big credit companies are so interconnected, everyone owes everyone, that if we have a few bankrupcies among major bank and loan firms the whole financial sector could come crashing down like a house of cards, as the estimated value of their loans plummets to nothing. The european economy has been going from strength to strength these last years though, and there are no indications the European central bank is going to follow suit and lower the rates, quite the opposite they are still worried about inflation as a result of over heating.
  3. I suppose you could call invasions aid, depends on who you ask.
  4. I wouldn't worry about that, it's a glass of piss in a tsunami, (source) USA
  5. I don't respect Fisher for his views, I think he's a rather trajic figure who's fames and personality disorder overshadowed his life.
  6. There was even a Grand Dragon who was jewish.
  7. I fell asleep watching I am legend. Vampire Zombies and Will Smith running around talking to himself.. ZzZZzz
  8. By the way, did anyone ponder how there are also 64 squares on a chess board. Probably not the first to figure that out.
  9. He never could deal with his fame very well, a bit of an idiot savant throughout his life, IQ through the roof and running from the tax man. Still, a remarkable cold war personality. A relic from a time where being smart made you more famous than being pretty. As for the racism, it's hard to tell how much of that was really his personality disorder talking. He married a Japanese woman, and as stated was Jewish himself.
  10. Thats how it should have been done, instead we got Jack Bauer and his 24 hours of unlimited ammo and tac team that you come slowly to loathe. And i mean, why, I have never run out of ammo once in that game, and if I ever did, every dead tango carries a full stack of clips.
  11. If any one of your team mates die, thats it, game over. Nevermind that you don't give a rats ass about the useless chunks of meat unless you need to spot an enemy, which they seem to be quite masterful at. R6 gets a 10 out of 10 for sounds, and a 5 for everything else.
  12. I believe you are right, anyway Ion Storm deserved to go belly up. Whatever they had during the making of the original, they lost it and then some.
  13. Rainbow six is not tactical. The term loses it's meaning with unlimited ammo.
  14. The krauts they loaned the sequel to screwed it up. It's hard to recover from a botched sequel.
  15. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legacy_of_Kain:_Soul_Reaver_2 This is what I was thinking of, not spikey I guess, merely misplaced comic book style. I played some of that, and did not enjoy it.
  16. Legacy of cain was made into a poor 3d version with a spikey haired descendant, that was Cain 2. Where are we now ?
  17. Free versions vastly outperform subscriptions when it comes to footprint, they might need manual updates and have certain features disabled, but it's usually worth the tradeoff. You are better off not paying for anti virus, unless you are of the particularly paranoid persuation. I like AVG, it only throws a popup in my face when it wants to reboot after an update.
  18. Legacy of Cain, the vampire RPG, that was pretty good, but honestly, there is no inkling whether or not they would have been able to do anything with the sequel beyond name recognition. Tomb Raider was never that fantastic to beging with.
  19. It's what bacteria does, the same reason it's used as a vessel for genetic manipulation, it's DNA is so eminently malleable.
  20. Thats the same thing that happens to all shows that aren't heavily serialised, such as the usual cop, lawyer, doctor, etc. shows when you think about it. At some point after the initial success the writers are faced with two decicions, elaborate on the main plot line and make it so complex no one understands anything (take lost or X files for instance) or divert into trivia to pass time. I can't think of any show to have gone on this long to escape it.
  21. It's not really in question, it's a well documented phenomenon that these resistances spread, why else would drug resistant TB and strep strains be such a problem. When you don't finish a course you teach the virus resistance, should it survive, which is why antibiotics for colds are a very bad idea.
  22. Thats kinda hairy though, if it decided to live in the windows system folder, many of the files there can't be deleted without turning off file protection and rebooting, and if you happen to delete the wrong thing there the OS might not start up at all.
  23. Typing class .... Do you have standing class, and seeing class as well ?
  24. Finally, a few unbiased reviews
  25. No really, I was talking about this with a guy from work the other day, how years of overexposure had led to reflex memory, and blind writing as it were, now, this is not the secret of the pyramids, not profound in any manner, but I just discovered I could do the same. Without thinking I had just stopped looking at the keyboard. Creepy.
