This thing with the browsers seems kinda pointless, I can't remember the last time I used IE for anything. It's much worse that microsoft has a stranglehold on development to the point that there is comparatively little software developed for other platforms, but I guess that can't really be helped.

Star trek is too goofy to be real gritty sci fi, it's the costumes and the pointy ears and the crappy design of many of the alien races. The TV heritage doesn't quite wash off even in the new movie, which wasn't bad. If exorcized of everything George Lucas, the Star Wars universe can be pretty cool. It's not particularly realistic but it works.

I cannot imagine why that could be, both parts of it. Otoh, to each his own. I thought the kids did pretty well, but they are still kids, never put kids in a lead role.
