  1. I wonder what the republican talking heads are thinking. This, and repeated warnings that Obama is going to turn the US into the USSR. I dunno, seems like they are shooting themselves in the foot here, why not be a little more on point and a little less concerned with winning over people who were going to vote Republican anyway.
  2. And many people, like myself, only use Steam when forced to or when there is too good of a deal to pass up. Steam is nothing more than another DRM scam and it should be treated as such. Also, as far as requirering a constant connection, that is pure bull**** and chips. Actualy, that's accourding to the EULA - something that is, at best, a grey issue as far as the law in concered. Just now steam produced a popup ad for Monkey Island 3, and it keeps spawning a reminder for me to 'join the steam community' inside the friggin' game. That pissed me off so much I uninstalled it. It can work in offline mode for a while though, at least a week or so.
  3. I swear if I ever get cancer I'm going to hamster away a means to do myself in with no pain, morphine or something, just in case. My stepmother who nursed my father was/is a nurse, so she was on the inside track. It made it easier for him to decide to give up on the chemo, and also getting straight answers from the doctors.
  4. Yeah it just kept getting better, of course Vic Mackey gets away with it.
  5. Hitachi, makers of the 'deathstar'. I'm not sure the differences are that great, I've heard horror stories from all kinds of manufacturers, including Western Digital and Seagate. Maybe solid state technology will actually lead to something of a breakthrough in reliability.
  6. That shouldn't happen. Have you ever had an 'ahem' less than perfectly legal version of the game installed on your 3d computer.
  7. There must be good money in coming up with this crap. My dad used to do the lecture circuit, he said the real money was in teamwork seminars and inspirational speak.
  8. The trading screen should involve clicking once to transfer one gold piece (a healing potion costs 2000 gp give or take)
  9. Nobody's perfect. (Is that actually allowed or am I describing a perfect belonging to Nobody)
  10. I've changed my mind, these people are just plain stupid and need the company of other stupid people to fit in.
  11. To be clear, I'm not saying 'brainwashing' is any kind of broad problem for Christianity, but you do wonder about peer pressure in very religious communities/families. Some people, I'm willing to bet, simply play along to fit in. Of course there are plenty of bonified Christian cults like Jehovah's Witnesses whose practices are potentially lethal. (they don't believe in blood transfusions, so if you have been in a serious accident or the like you are basically out of luck)
  12. Well you could say 'brainwashing' about a lot of religions. How many Christians do you think there would be without early indoctrination from the parents.
  13. Yeah but look at the lunatic energy of Tom Cruise and John Travolta, it gets things done like nobody's business. I used the think it was just a scam, with the local Grand Moff collecting 10.000 $ every time a mark advances a tier, but apparently they are planning world domination, having as their stated goal the conversion of the entire world.
  14. Wahts 4 chan, I don't really wanna find out on my own.
  15. I dreamt I was watching a panel discussion about the evolutionary feasibility of mosquitoes making that loud buzzing sound which must logically alert their pray to their approach. The religious panel members were gaining ground. It seemed quite important in the dream, not so much when I woke up.
  16. Well that follows, so, whats quiet at high loads. I have bought Zalman in the past, and have been happy with them, but they sometimes have issues with very low RPMS, below what the CPU fan timer thinks is acceptable and once in a while it would auto shutdown at low loads.
  17. What is your opinion on what happened then, if as you say there are indications of a cover up and prior knowledge, of the towers not 'collapsing like they should'. What does it mean if not government conspiracy, martians ?.
  18. Maybe not, just saying the evenings are hot.
  19. So, you actually believe that the Bush administration and the military industrial complex orchestrated 9/11 to get paid, and that somewhere a secret cadre still knows what really went on. I don't. You see taking those inconsistencies and conflicting statements about 9/11 to their logical conclusion is not as easy as merely pointing out that they exist.
  20. Because of the hot weather my CPU cooler has been making a lot of noise when playing games. Then last night when I was playing Clear Sky it went completely overboard, sounding like a jet engine taking off, I had to stop playing. It's the same with other games. CPU stays around 25 C though, so it's not failing, its merely getting extremely noisy for some reason. So, recommendations on a quiet CPU cooler, that is, quiet both under low and high loads.
  21. HBO made some of my favorite shows, so just on the strength of that it might actually be good, it would be the first time ever that a TV show tried on the fantasy genre without targeting kids exclusively though.

  23. Breaking the silence has been repeatedly ridiculed by official Israel as being 'activists', but you have to ask yourself what soldiers who were actually in the Gaza action have to gain by making this stuff up. If this really happened it isn't the kind of thing you bring up at the debriefing without subjecting yourself to repercussions. So, how exactly does the story get told without anonymity. If a new source forgets to mention where these allegations came from, I dunno, maybe the editor was drunk, we will never know. This is about the organization called breaking the silence and how it gets reported, you can't separate the topic from its context, well you can, but what would be the point of offering the example at all then. You might have picked something less charged if you didn't want the one overshadowing the other though.
  24. ****.
